Duodecim Dissidia Final Fantasy Thread
FormerlyUnknown replied to Ichipoo's topic in Misc Fighter Central

I do admit mob and community are words that are vastly different, and your power over the english language as been duely noted. I merely agreed with the OVERALL message of the statement and wished to expand on it. I am not trying to accuse the powers that be of dictating over the smaller players, merely trying to bring my view of events to light. I also admit that yes, it was me who posted that list in the loctest discussion, however, I also posted a disclaimer stating that I was unsure if such a thing was right to be posted and stated that if a mod deemed it to be not allowed I would take it down. This, however, did not happen. Instead other members of the community confronted me on my 'list' and a discussion began. I was under the understanding that it was a discussion and nothing more, they were stateing their points, I was defending mine. It was not until the rest of the community started to bash on my ideas that I saw where it was all going, and it wasn't until things had gotten out of hand that a mod decided to step in, on the side of the general public. After a good 5+ pages of discussion it was explained that this was not the place for such discussions, and that I SPECIFIALLY must stop posting. I mentioned the fact that I had said I would stop if told to do so, and so I did, just like I had said I would in the very first post. In that instance the position the mod had taken was that that particular thread was not the proper place, thus making me beleive that all would be well if I merely made a new thread. However, the arguements themselves that had taken place, which were devoid of statements of "this does not belong here", showed me that my ideas were not necessarily wrong, but nonetheless not wanted by the general community. It wasn't the fact that my information was incorrect, it was the fact that my ideas challenged their mentality of the game in a way they refused to acknowledge, thus it became exceedingly obvious that my way of thinking was not welcome not just in the aformentioned thread, but in the whole of Dustloop itself. This is what I mean by the community shunning off "Black sheep" if you will, I mean the people who think differently, or have different ideas on things such as character design, damage output, or system changes, than the rest of the "Community". It is common for humans to be wary of different thinking, and I beleive that is the hurdle that I myself have tried to overcome in the community, to get the point across that just because and idea is different, doesn't make it wrong. However the FG "community" seems to very protective in it's ways, as any community would be, and so it is easy for a group to come together to throw out any free-thinkers of the genre. i've already made 2 giant posts in this thread in a single day, so i think that's it for me...

with all those op powers of "magnetics" he sounds a lot more like pheonix with the "I can do anything" rather than "I can move metal shit" =p of course i'm not an american comic fan so I don't read any of these, my knowledge of x-men only spans across the games and movies.

i too have experience this. I know I'm not grade A at this game but just because i'm an average-netplayer (Because there's 1 person to play with in my area, who's psn, so I don't see the point in studying 8 hours a day on a game I'll never get to play competitively) doesn't mean I have good ideas. Dustloop is a fighting game community (mob), and those communities (mobs) are usually the most confrontational and disagreeable of all communities. I understand that it's a competitive style and perhaps that's what brings out the competitive a-holes in people. People are much quicker to gang up on someone for stating wrong facts or going against the grain and call them out and cause conflicts rather than point them in the right direction or explain things about the game. I understand it's not the veteran players job to baby-sit, but if seeing someone be wrong about the game bugs them so much you would think spending 3 minutes to give a link to the information or explain the situation would be a worthwhile endeavor. I understand you can't help everyone, but instead of picking out people to be the black sheep of the communities and are hopeless, idiots, or trolls, the community should focus more on helping people learn the game, get better, and make good competition (I always thought that was the whole point of fighting game communities). Also, sometimes those "Black sheep" have good ideas or thoughts on a subject, however the communitiy refuses to take anything they say seriously and merely bash on them for thinking it was ok for them to talk about "Their game". which makes it exceedingly hard for the community to grow and evolve.

good stuff, at first i didn't think anything at all of arthur but after seeing the talk about him and the info on his playstyle i think a projectile happy midget in his boxers would be a nice change of pace...and i mean that as a compliment. spencer sounds super scary on paper, i'm anxious to see how he's going to turn out...

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2
FormerlyUnknown replied to 4649's topic in Misc Fighter Central
the game is fun when messing around with friends, but ranked turns into nothing but sage naruto's, minato's and akatsuki's. what's the point in putting 42 characters in the game when you make 9 of those so much more godly than the rest? I main Karin so I know the gap between god and normal characters =p -
i beg for kune vids. pleeeeeeeaaaase

BBCS2 Loketest 4: Oct. 23 Discussion (NO COMPLAINING)
FormerlyUnknown replied to Spirit Juice's topic in Archive
i made it through 18 pages then I got tired of reading =p I assume the front page is at least close to caught up. crying over new system design, still crying over kune being less mobile than tager now (lolnerfallofkunesmobility) but i'm happy for new attack setups, still has the worst normals out of every character and now a useless overhead. trying to set up anything with kune is going to be scary shit now, goodbye psuedo-trap character -insert page of character crying- also tager just got super scary now. -
rapid cancels, high level stuff.

alright. the 1 person with a problem has found a solution. arguement over =p -bang- court adjourned
-
zong if you have a problem with training mode either A: practice practice practice or B: suck it up if anyone else talks up with problems about it then yes a soft ban is best in the eyes of the public, but right now It's just Zong counter-pointing the arguement, with others giveing input here and there. it doesn't seem like such a big deal so I say just suck it up =p
-
technically that's exactly what it's about =p you can't see the corners because they're hiding in all the black and blue. I understand the arguement people are makeing but i'm seeing it differently. If you have trouble in Training stage, fight more in training stage and get better. One shouldn't ban an entire part of a game because the majority doesn't like it. and if you do ban it, then you have to ask what about any other the other stages that distract or put advantages to a character or player? a characters home stage tends to have a psychological effect on the opponent, which is of course why random is mostly used, however there always the chance of it happening (I myself have chosen random and ended up with Kunes CT stage and his music, felt good and gave me confidence). in the option of soft banning it sounds good, full banning I think is out of the question. but whatever pleases the majority.
-
i prefer it if people actually tell me why i'm wrong rather than shoo me away =p stay free most of dustloop. anyway point is ALL of the stages in blazblue are vibrant and wonderfull, so I can see how a blank slate like Training can throw people for a loop. But in reality it focuses your attention on your opponent, that's really all you have to pay attention too. So really you should be playing better in Training than in any other stage in the game, but that's not the case. Most people just tone out the background of the stages and fight, but what about the other people who can't? or the people who do leagues better in Training, are they just going to suck it up because they're the minority? If you ban 1 stage for visual distractions (I.E being "ugly") you must ban all stages with visual distractions (every stage aside from maybe altar)
-
i see it as the same problem =p only instead of visual cues hypedog can interupt audio cues used in combos and such. of course it's a smaller problem for most because of course you're LOOKING at the screen at all times and the noise from a tourney can drown out all noise from the game, but if you're going to start pecking at the small visual things in the stage (or lack of them) then maybe we should only allow 1 stage for tourneys and everyones equal in everything. I for example get distracted by the costant jumping of the boy in Bascule, or the danceing people and giant dragon head in rest time, so I avoid those stages...
-
ima pop my head back in here =p a stage is a stage is a stage is a stage. wasn't there the same discussion for the Hypedog stage? I say we go Supreme Court on this and carry over that decision on to this one...
-
almost there...just keep making up discussions until that good ol' 100 mark...
-
calm down boy o3o niggas be trollin
-
hence why kune's normals are horrible?
-
i saw it on xplay and it looked pretty =p edit: and then I saw that blob and fate was decided (~'3')~
-
so i'm pretty sure this loketest is done =p i doubt we're going to see any gamechanging buffs/nerfs for anyone at this point...just got to wait for the 4th one =p
-
they made tauntloop for troll only...i see no other needs of changes for her...
-
or we can keep going until we hit the 100 mark and it'll go the way of the general threads =p
