I see what you mean. Guess it didn't disappoint me as much because I've seen this coming for a long time. I can't even tell you how many times I've traveled tournaments in NC, VA & GA only to find piss poor entrants at BB tournaments. Also, with the amount of entrant BB got at EVO last year (I think it was around 240 or so), it would have been a long shot for this to come to the main stage. Long story short, if the BB scene in general would have shown more support at tourneys & majors this may have not happened.

I don't see why so many people would be disappointed with BB not being in the official lineup, when it can just be added as a side game anyway :-/

The next SC tournament is on December 3rd in Charleston, SC but I don't think BB will be there. Your best bet would be to check out www.shoryuken.com, click on forums and look under Tournaments and Events. We've also got a Columbia, SC thread under the regionals where we meet up and there's also an SCFGC group on Facebook where we talk about games a well. Having more BB players is a good thing, so I'd definitely like to see your friend play :D

What this means is instead of a small space for the tournament and a small one for casuals we will have a huge area for both. They have also been nice enough to give a major discount on 30 rooms reserved for me at $49 per room(down from $79 normal rate) if you book by July 1st. It won’t be part of the official tournament but you will be able to run it granted that it starts after we are down to the top 20 in the majors. If you would like to bring a setup for casuals that is ok as well, but bringing a setup for casuals or a side tournament is not eligible for a venue fee discount, only majors!! And while there is no spectator fee there will be a venue fee if you are participating in side tournaments Preregister with your name, region, and the games you are going to be playing For example Filldoh Greenville SC SF4AE, MVC3, MK9, SC2, KOF13 If you don’t put your region don’t be mad when you are matched up against your buddy you drove with.
