PWA Tuesday Night Fights tomorrow! Word on the street is that Adam from PWA has been working on some sort of sweet hd projector setup/cabinet type thing. Also, we'll be doing matches for the New England Danisen League that asiantom started. probably gonna have a HnK setup for most of the night as well as the typical stuff.

i still have to pick up valk. guess i'll be buying him when i get plat. i'm really looking forward to cs2. i've even been watching videos and planning out stuff. you guys will definitely be feeling the wrath of the continually worst character in the series.

I was the tager player. it was good to meet you as well. i can show you some other stuff and we can test how you can beat it next time as well. i mean, the whole purpose of this meet up is to actually bring everybody together so we can all actually get better as a community. i'm really opposed to the whole "let's just sit here and keep playing each other repeatedly without talking or figuring something out". there were about 18 people. MK was running on a xbox with an HD projector so my Ermac was like 15 feet tall. it was hot. i think most people played at least a little MK. it isn't very mash friendly. it's also heavily footsie based and has some really interesting things going on. I hope everybody will mark their calendars now for the next one on May 3rd. from the looks of it, nobody will need to bring any TVs either cause we have like 6 or 7 that will be there (and they are all large too).

also kona, we will have at least one setup running AH3 all night. xntrikcat, I could potentially get you so pm me your address and your number and i'll get back to you. vyers, if you are gonna be there at 5 that'll be great. I'm going to try and get there as close to 5 as I can. we are working on trying to get a number of CRTs to just leave at PWA so we can roll up with our systems only but right now we only have a couple there. just something to keep in mind.

Just a reminder for you northern MA, southern NH, ME peeps, PWA Tuesday Night Fights are starting this Tuesday in Pelham. I would strongly consider attending if you can as this is the first night and if the community can make a strong showing it'll certainly help our case for getting new games at the arcade and being able to stay later. I work in downtown Portsmouth and I'm planning on leaving work at 4:30 so if somebody wanted I could potentially give a ride or something to somebody in the area. PM me.

april 19th we are starting bi-weekly game nights at Pinball Wizard Arcade in Pelham, NH, which is like 15 minutes from Lowell. we're gonna be running anything and everything cause we'll have tons of space to do it: mvc3, ssf4, bbcs, ah3, mk9, and i think we'll have gg and HnK too. We just need players and setups at this point. also, we are looking to teach as many people as we can so we can level up the whole scene.

i've been asking around trying to scoop up CRTs from people to have at PWA. So far i've got one biggun that i'll be leaving at PWA so that'll make three. also, arcana heart 3 drops stateside on april 19th. hopefully my voucher I won at PAX East will give me a free copy of the game.

there is a space that is intended to be used as such/corporate rental room type thing. talks have begun and pwa is actually pretty excited about the idea. they do have ample space for a console area and are really nice people. this could be really really good if we can get the scene to show up cause pwa is hungry to be THE place for the scene to grow.

mk9 could easily be awesome. the demo is fun and what was playable at PAX was waaay better. speed of the game seems to be about sf4 with a movement feeling like tekken. some combos seem like they are derived from UMK3 so that's also good cause that game doesn't blow. It may be a weird thing to think about, but MK9 might really be the game that could get a bunch of different communities playing the same game together. tim, if you want match vids for AH3, check http://homingcancel.com/ and i'm sure you'll find some stuff.

man. i just caught up on the thread since my last post. good god. this is why i only check in on you guys like once a week, max. mvc3 sentiments seconded. seriously, get piped. the mayor is the heart of my team. gonna learn me some modok next for hilarity. i'll try to remember to keep you updated, vyers, about the nh gatherings. when's the next tournament so we can all play bb and mvc3 without lag (and because i don't own an xbox)?

I'm actually gonna be playing the full version tonight at a friend's house. gonna get a taste and then go through withdrawals all weekend probably.

Vyers, you are still on seacoast NH right? we should play mvc3 when that stuff comes out. I'll have it for ps3 as well. You might want to think about checking out one of the SaltMines meetups we have. going to be a bunch of us running marvel.

yeah there are. a bunch of really classic games like donkey kong jr and galaga and such. Pretty sure i saw a Raiden game in one of the aisles. they also have strange games like a sailor moon brawler, a korean game called Come On Baby where you mash the largest buttons i've ever seen to make babies run, like 70 pinball machines, some light gun shooters, and some vehicle games.

CT is like an olive branch, a gateway to other, newer games at the arcade as long we show up and play it. few people seem to understand that you can't just tell somebody to start buying linked, seated cabs with sanwa parts when they just opened their doors and when they haven't seen any real shows of commitment from the area's populace. we have to build a relationship with the place before we can be like "oh hey, by the way, you should drop like 15k on one machine for us otherwise we won't care". the biggest thing about them purchasing CT is that they'll have a taito-x2 board with which to play other games.

Hey guys, if you aren't aware, there's a new arcade (like legit arcade, not a "oh hey pay like $10 an hour to use a console and a tv" kind of place) in pelham NH. The guy who maintains the array of fighters started a thread on shoryuken. speaking of conventions happening in boston, who is going to PAX East? I've got a three day pass this year and a hotel room after seeing how awesome just saturday was last year.

word. I really want to play more of you guys but I don't have an xbox and I'm, as you know, in NH. However, I may be willing to take some midweek trips to places in february when i'm back at my hotel in lowell. Also, I've got a friend looking a copy of AH3 (and if he buys it, then capsuletoyco and I will play it and see if we like it). he says all the import shops he has looked at are out of stock/sold out until mid Feb and he's looking to get one as soon as he can. anybody know any US shops that have some in stock or an obscure import website with it still in stock?

you guys see those vids where bubba entered a team tournament by himself AND WON? totally ridiculous. saw him do an 8k combo on a tager player too. also, am i the only who thinks that platinum might actually be a pretty good character??? the jumping cat attack aside (which is hilarious) she seems like she may be able to put up a good fight and the sounds she makes when she hits you is just too psychologically damaging to come back from. tim, i have a couple new ideas about that tager v haz matchup we'll have to try out at the saltmines tomorrow.
