ditto. I was really pumped for the changes tager received in CS. And i'm excited for the CSII changes as well. The time for science will truly be upon us. Tager uses 6a with super armor(rumored to be able to absorb as many upper and mid attacks as he wants) against air dashing bang: It's super effective! also, XYH (voltic charge) got changed to 214D and can apparently be cancelled in 720. Talk about getting some serious AA... Before i would just throw out early 2Cs to get fatals, now i'll be able to do that OR charge 6a, pull you in during the charge, and absorb your hit before i release for a counter hit combo OR just voltic charge and cancel into 720 after you hit me.

i finally had some time to watch a couple match vids from cs2. I can see what you mean about tager's primer breaking ability, danny. also, chargeable 6a just eating bang's nails made me rejoice. i'd gladly sacrifice the magnetic pull on the bro-fist for that move. haven't really seen it officially mentioned anywhere but it also seems like characters are left closer to tager after 360a, that whiffed moves recover a bit faster, and that 2d (the shoulder tackle move) leaves tager extremely close to the other character now. i'm currently enjoying these changes. hoping capcom treats my other grappler main well when they drop the developer's notes about t.hawk tomorrow.

shhhhh... don't rain on my parade people. after hearing the good news about tager i ejected the game i was playing and promptly popped in cs and hit up the training room. seriously cannot wait to exact retribution from people. I already get hatemail telling me to "play a real character" so I'm sure when cs2 hits consoles my inbox will fill to the brim. I'm currently considering winterbrawl as well since i couldn't attend NEC due to being in a parade, so this is me stating a desire to get matchup experience with people.

You guys best rep it at NEC this weekend. Wish I could go but I gotta be in a parade. I am looking forward to WinterBrawl though. Gonna start training real soon.

not UM, just straight 2002. And I'm terrible at the game--I just don't think anybody else really knew how to play it, lol. But I can do the general gameplans for terry, clark, and ryo. Looking forward to terry not sucking in 13 like he did in 12 and dropkick-fest 2011 with raiden. You guys getting excited for mvc3 as well?

I will say that there is an SNK machine at GU... and i'm currently undefeated in KoF2002, lol. gotta get ready for kof13!

yo, i'll play ah3 if there's a ridiculous and gimmicky grappler character... and if there's an arcana that gives said character an additional hilarious gimmick cause that's really all i need to have fun in a game and get satisfaction from wins. i love me that metagame.

oh what? when did this happen? now i don't feel so bad for having to miss the cs team tourney. also, we got any estimates for the amount of people that should be coming to this? I'd hate for it to end up like the recent syracuse tournament that had the biggest showing in tekken and then like 9 cs players.

Just realized this came into existence by chance so i gots to catch up with a giant multi-quote reply. I live in Rollinsford, NH, which is basically a shared town with South Berwick. I can actually walk for 1 minute from my house and get to the maine border. response time has nothing to do with latency. response time is how long it takes one pixel to run from white to black and back to white. ALL response time information you've ever seen is a lie. TV companies started basically making up stats using incorrect tests to advertise their numbers. That's why we get all these silly ads saying 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio when 1) it's a lie and 2) it's not even important. The problem then becomes the fact that everybody else HAS to do the same stuff of else the couple in best buy don't buy their product cause one has a way higher number than the other. Cheese is right about the HDTV issue but there's actually even more to it than that. HDTV broadcasts already cut off information because it's not pretty--there's lots of yellow lines and silly stuff on the actual edges of the information our tv receives. And yes, most every thing your HDTV attempts to do to your picture is dumb, brightness, contrast, and sharpness especially since those don't even do anything to an HDTV because, guess what... there's no tubes to adjust in the back! yeah you can hold out the 360B slightly. I think the situation mastaroth is referring to is probably best explained as punishing a chicken block. he said he blocked the 5a in the air, at which point tager broke out the 360a and his opponent landed right on it as it grabs. It actually works really well so if you can 5a somebody in the air you've basically created a tick throw setup cause people are in throw range (as long as you don't do too many 5As) and will often continue to block/try to poke once you let them hit the ground. Depending on the range, both those options lose to 360A/B. They can, of course, hold up and jump out and i've had people backdash out of 360a on me cause they wanted to get the hell away and weren't magnetized.

yeah. from max snake range on normal block you can 2C FC both ground and air approaches. I'll have to test the specifics though since I played one match where i had like 4 FCs and then the next one I got CH a bunch of times. FC combos are the new GETB in terms of satisfaction for me.

i've played a lot of matches against a really solid ragna with good pressure and mixup and our metagame has advanced through all options all the way back to square one so i'm pretty familiar with a lot of the shit we have to deal with against rawrgna. if he RCs the ID at a certain height he can throw out a j.C that will CH an attempt to 2C it on our part. I haven't tested 2A against it but i will the next time i play him. in general, block low by default because 3C and 6C lead to way more damage for ragna than the 6B overhead. If ragna does a 6C (starts low for one hit then launches with the second) you can IB punish inbetween and afterwords. However, the move is jump cancellable. If ragna cancels straight up it's a free 2C, as long as he doesn't double jump above it, for, most likely, a FC. if he jumps straight up OR backwards you can catch him with AC but this isn't always guaranteed, based on timing and whether or not he dashes back so i only throw this out when he's magnetized. Keep in mind, if you guess wrong and whiff you will eat a CH combo for more damage. One trick i've found that works amazingly is bursting through ID in combos, as long as you stay on the ground and he does the follow up you won't move and he won't be affected by the burst, but you recover before he does for a free 360B/720 on whatever side he'll land on. It's sorta like bursting through litchi's DP in CT. I use 5A a lot to stuff run in attempts and 5C will hit ragna from waaay further away than you think. I'll often open the round with 5C for a counter to catch him trying to escape or a 4D to see if i can start right off with a wallbounce combo into GF.

get a new ps3 slim with the bigger harddrive size... waay sexier. plus then i can see what the tager v lambda matchup is like (yes, i want you purchase a console so i can have matchup experience).

the GF RC 6A > 2C setup is too good. It literally allows you to get a new, full magnetism combo for 50 heat. I throw it out against my friends and 1 of 2 things happens: 1) they've seen me do other GF RC stuff and just wait for it to be over cause they are afraid of what is gonna happen, this creates a new combo because they didn't block. 2) they haven't seen me do other GF shenanigans and they try to mash a button, this leads a FC. I just tested it with ragna against a recorded tager doing 5a 2b 2c AC bgadget, giving 6 hits before the GF, and i successfully mashed out a dp one time out of like 10. With the right timing the 2C will uncombo but if you do the 6A too early you can get blue beats. also, i did (mag) 6a 2c AC, AC whiff, 6B 2C AC, bgadget before the setup and, as ragna, i found that i could air tech away from the 2c after the 6a--but i think that i was doing the 6A too early and i didn't have any more time to rerecord tager and do it again.
