When you're spectating, just press options/start and select go back to lobby. Does that work for you or would you need something that works before the load?
-
So is there no more hurtbox transition in GGXrd? Because that version of fuzzy guard was also used in GG to create situations where jumpins or upper body attacks would hit against enemies that can duck those attacks normally.

This is a bit of a fringe case and isn't new, but you can input 4+H+D and it will choose to (option select) 1. invuln dust 2. "kara" dust into throw (coincidentally you should get the invuln property from D as well) Played around with it and applied it against I-no's mixups on Mission 50. Option selecting in this mission allows you to never have to guess and will either throw or invuln dust except for one mixup which you can block confirm easily as you can clearly see no throw or dust starts up. (Of course it will be different on real people.) Here's a video doing S Rank on it using Option Select: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEVh8iq8ARU ----------- And for people wondering: invuln dust kara'd will transfer invuln to the move done after. Kind of like Slayer's BDC invuln. Have not tested it thoroughly in Xrd though.

Dogura(Sol), Woshige(Millia), and Haitani(Zato) played online with about 4-5F delays on stream. I don't know their opinions about the netcode or if 4-5 frames are bad, but as long as I get around the same delay as they do I won't complain. Granted maybe the stream took some frames away from their ping, but as long as I can play Japanese players here in the Philippines at 4F+, I'm fine with it.

I've yet to test this on Xrd, but Mettagiri can actually activate on 1F blockstun. Watch this uhh, old old old video I made (reuploaded) at about 20 seconds you'll see what I mean. (GGXX Slash footage, but proven to work on all 2D GG games afterwards.) http://youtu.be/mqYYIzEEn6Q?t=20s

It would help if you noted the frame delay on the top of your screen. Anything above two digits I avoid. Around 4F or so is quite good to me, and 5-9 is acceptable. Question is, what frame delay was on your screen when you were playing?
-
On a slightly related / unrelated note, I wonder if mettagiri still works on a 1F blockstun. On previous versions of the game, you can mettagiri an enemy that blocks something within 1F - something impossible with regular throws. An "impossible mettagiri", if you will.

In theory its a good tactic, since air 2K often stuffs normals and people trying to fight out of okizemi. Though a thing about Faust is that he's not really scary by himself and without item cover. I'd surmise if you didn't train the enemy to keep blocking strings without trying to fight back, then they'd easily just mash throw or reversals or whatever else that can counter a whiff > throw. So I'd rate this tech in around the same effectivity as (ground) 2K > delay > mettagiri. It only works if the enemy has been trained to keep blocking or is waiting to block something like meteors.

Almost tempted to make a video to show it, but I think you should be able to get it. Most likely you're not inputting the revolver fast enough to catch Ky mid air. There are trophies if you S rank certain total amount of missions - dunno what else though.

Here's a clip of Faust (mine) doing the (100% tension) Super Super Nani ga deru ka na? (at 1:07 on the video) http://youtu.be/TRATJwFzd2g?t=1m7s

Ky's hair thing I suppose I can explain. I was playing the demo and destroyed (IK) Ky with Sol and his ponytail broke and let his hair down. I'm not sure if it works with any other character or if you need to do it in arcade mode as Sol like I did. Will have to experiment.
-
Gotcha. I thought it was a copy and add your own PSN ID thing. Also I figured since there's a country divider already the Location info was for specifics. Anyway, hope more people show up!

Just got GGXrd on my PS4 (Asian / Jap version). Ask me anything?
Kintaro replied to Kintaro's topic in Guilty Gear General
Sup bro! Didn't get your PM though. Yup! Game had a DLC code to unlock Elphelt. Used an Asian account for the code to work. Elphelt also unlocked on my US account on the same system. (Primary PS4 DLC thing) Sin is unlockable with the World Dollars you get from playing random modes of the game. He costs 200,000W$. Not that hard to get 200k. Elphelt and Sin are playable in all modes except training (Sol) and mission (specific chars). Pretty good! So far I haven't noticed any latency difference between playing vs. PS4 or PS3 users. Only time you'll see what console people are playing is in the player list. When playing online there's a number above your life bar saying DELAY: 2F (2 Frames) or whatever. Best games I've played so far vs. Japanese have been about 4-8F delay - some are worse though. (EDIT) Adding this for online play questions. Video on how to navigate the Xrd Online system. Accurate inputs mission teaches you to not mash buttons when doing combos. It wants you to dash a certain amount, 2P, K (2), c.s, then sweep, revolver. You can't mash the combo out cause the combo requires a certain rhythm of input.

I bought the Region 3 game physical disc. I can shed some light here. Elphelt was a code on my game and unlocked on an HK account. There's a day 1 patch (1.53GB) that adds english voice / menus / text. If your console is set to english the game will start as english.

Xrd PS3 Performance Issues and Future Tournament Standard?
Kintaro replied to B.Z.B's topic in Guilty Gear General
I'd like to point out that I've been playing online on Japanese lobbies since yesterday (got the game December 4 here in the Philippines) and there's a lot of PS3 players. So I'd say they're fine with it. -
Title says it all. I live in the Philippines and got the limited edition Asian copy on December 4, yesterday. Day 1 patch was 1.53GB and sets your language to English if your console language is English. Both english and japanese voices are available post patch. Menus are available in both languages. PS3 and PS4 can play together online. There's a documented bug that unsyncs games when you use English voices online, so play with Jap voices online. Its better acted anyway. Story mode is a ridiculously long snoozefest of automatic voiced cutscenes that has zero interactivity besides going to next chapter. (I have not encountered a part in Story mode that let's me play yet.) So, what else do you guys want to know? I have a few videos up on my YouTube channel which already posted on the videos thread. Uploading a walkthrough of the Network / Online mode right now and a few others. (My YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4RCvfQkhalXqukkAzkQXpw )

[#R] GGXX#R: Known Online gameplay Issues
Kintaro replied to AyaImmortal's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
I'm sure they're already considering that as an option for a further patch. Because thats the first thing you learn in making online games work. -

I don't know if anyone noticed yet but apparently they added a 2S > 5K gatling. (They removed the reverse which was K > 2S.) This ought to make some relaunches simpler, once we get used to it.
-
You use it primarily for three things I guess: 1. Airdash brake - His airdash is long and can be punishable - but can be cancelled with the air brake. This gives you the advantage of great air coverage - but still makes it safe and flexible since you can stop dashing at any point. 2. Falling on enemies - Its not always safe jumping in on enemies. To make sure you control the air properly, you have to land safely as well. Alert enemies would try to anti-air you on the way down. Air brakeing just at the right times will make them mistime thier anti-air and let you not only land safely, but punish the whiffed anti-air with a prompt air 2K in the face. Normally I do them twice first while falling at jumpheight to get my bearings and elevation right. (Plus it gives the enemy a little more time to spot you in the air and get ready to use his anti-air.) Once you're near the ground and hes about to AA you, then you pop one or two brakes, the AA whiffs and you 2K LGMW them. Don't do air 2K high in the air. Note: don't use AA baiting as an offensive move. Use superjumps a lot (instead of regular jumps). 3. For the overhead LAK mixups - combo options after the overhead are horribly limited, but its good to put it in there for posteritys sake.
-
Dashing from midscreen is a pretty stupid move for sol to begin with. Hes bound to get poked before he even gets there. I'm pretty sure he'll prefer to attack from the air. In any case, hit him before he gets close. Thats all there is to it. If hes close enough to hit you, don't attempt to beat any of his attacks with your own. Superjump airdash, air brake, land, and start over. If he prefers air like I said, then get ready to counter with AA and punish. Simple enough. On the occasion that he covers his ground dash with an frc gunflame in front of it, then just superjump like I mentioned before.
-
What you're gonna have to do vs. Pot (and pretty much anybody in the char list) is learn how to use Faust's superjump, airdash, airdash control, air brakes, headbomb and safe-landing techniques. You pretty much only hit the ground long enough to poke once, cancel into item throw (can be optional), and superjump. It goes without saying that you should avoid chances where the Pot is trying to make you jump out from a pressure string. Its pretty complicated so I understand if it sounds like I'm just saying generic stuff like: "Don't get hit." though.
