  1. oh well that explains a lot
  2. I think you need to dial back on the rushdown a bit. Rachel's momentum is amazing and she's hard to block, but if you see that I actually am blocking, you are probably better off going back to neutral than continuing pressure. Rachel's zoning is just as annoying for Tager to deal with when you are sitting on a comfortable health lead. Also watch for CAs during frog oki. Those were good matches though. You are so much more challenging as a Rachel player, lol.
  3. ggs errol fuck rachel pressure. I'm not even going to attempt to block all of that. the struggle is real.
  4. metal gear tager
  5. What did you think of those matches? Do other Tagers play the Nu/Mu matchups differently?
  6. ggs cookie i don't know how to talk in arcade lobby edit: ggs nemesis why is there so much silly shit in arcade lobby WHY DOES IT ALLOW ME TO CHANGE MY SPEED yeah i'm gonna turn my speed down real low. STEALTH TAGER. let's do this shit edit x2: holy fuck I can put an afro on tager. I've never had so much fun in a video game.
  7. i want some tager mirrors
  8. i bring my netplay tactics to offline they still don't work
  9. Fine with me. Other people did the job of correcting you already. And for the record, here's how it actually went down: Original statement: It's stupid that Tager has set ups where the only possible escape is to lay prone on the ground. It's frustrating when you're conditioned to be able to tech normally. Correction: You can escape said grab set ups with jumps Response filled with more ranting without any indication that the correcting post was read or understood. Repeated correction with added frustration. etc etc. See for yourself. That's how the discussion got derailed in the first place. Are we done here?
  10. If you were really being honest, you would've ended your post right there instead of taking one last shot at everybody. Like I said... disingenuous. When you come onto a character sub-forum and spout obviously wrong bullshit, don't be surprised when everyone jumps on you for it.
  11. The situation you're describing does not in any way force you to tech differently. All you have to do is hold up. That's 8. Up on the D-pad. Opposite of down. This has already been explained to you... multiple times by multiple people. And instead of taking their advice to heart, you are willfully ignoring that so you can pursue your disingenuous agenda of complaining about grappler mechanics. Not to mention that changing your teching habits every now and then is a good tactic regardless of the matchup you're playing. And there are plenty of other characters who punish tech options simply by playing normally, i.e. Nu punishing every roll ever. Your posts amount to nothing more than you complaining about a particular matchup for being different. Stay mad.
  12. I don't like it when characters have unique mechanics.
  13. why hello there
  14. Isn't it still a 16 frame overhead? That new knockdown sounds nice but I can't even count on it landing half the time. Especially when you consider that people already jump to avoid 720s and it just so happens to avoid CAs at the same time.
  15. Something that just occurred to me after reading Ctrl's post again: (Emphasis me) This is a really important distinction. If they had nerfed 5A's P1 instead of its starter type, it would have also affected Tager's meter combos off 5A. Changing only the starter allows him to still take rounds off 5A provided he has the resources for it.
  16. i would join too but "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PSN." THANKS SONY
  17. Personally, two things annoy me about 1.1 Tager: 1) Backdash nerf. There's no justification for it. They wanted to nerf defensive options across the board but conveniently forgot that Tager has no choice but to play defensive a lot of the time. 2) His CA is still the same garbage it was since CT. Seriously, if something is going to cost 50 meter and do no damage, can it at least be reliable for getting characters like Rachel out of my face? As for the 5A nerf... I'm over it. It's still more damage than he got in CS2, and he still gets GF oki if you don't opt for gimmicks. 3.5k meterless off GF 5A was too much reward for too little risk, IMO. You didn't even have to worry about confirming it versus most players, because they'll either backdash, mash reversal, or just get hit.
  18. lol hi jersey so how many of you went through the pain of buying a PS3 for BBCP?
  19. You realize that "doesn't translate to anything you can fix" is completely subjective, right? Because you can just as easily apply it to poor defense as you can execution errors. "I should be able to react to those overheads" "I shouldn't be getting hit by stupid stuff like that" In fact, that's exactly what [REDACTED] would always complain about. And just because you practiced solutions to new mixups doesn't mean you won't ever get hit by them again, just like how practicing combos doesn't mean you won't ever drop them again. It really does come down to attitude. At the end of the day, you are allowing one kind of mistake to bother you more than another kind.
  20. pick bang and mash yourself into a blind fury if kokonoe's life bar is still there when you open your eyes, you fucked up
  21. Well, I have my PS3 set to a static IP which I've forwarded on my router. Can't say I know what to do beyond that. also what happened to those amazing head smileys?
  22. ggs errol great back and forth can't believe my counter invite got blocked etc
  23. hey errol I wanna play your rachel. I bet it will be fun.
  24. People are preaching because, as Superkenon said, this attitude is a pet peeve for them. Remember back during CS2 and Extend, when everyone and their grandmother would rip on [REDACTED] in the netplay thread? It's all about that attitude. More than anything in the actual game, it's disenchanting towards other players. Just because this is a thread for posting pet peeves doesn't mean others aren't allowed to discuss or challenge them. And personally, I don't understand it. If you lost a match, somewhere down the line you had to have made a mistake, regardless of how it made you feel. If you're able to trace it back to poor execution, then you know what needs work. Don't you think something like that is a refreshing experience? You won't always have the luxury of immediately knowing what went wrong in your play.
