  1. Which is why I put it in quotation marks. Technically speaking, Ikaruga may be a Federation of five Cities but it kind of felt like a country, at least to me, especially in Bang's story mode.
  2. Oh my god, DAT RAGNA. Especially the last two, hnnnnnnngh.
  3. Dude, you may think it's tacked on but it's canon, the bios are even at the beginning of every character's arcade mode. They're as canon as everything else unless Arcsys retcons or declares them noncanon. We don't even know where all the Hierarchical cities are. For all we know there may be one on top of Scafell Pike in England, or one in the Penines. Shit, it's implied in the Material Collection that the Hierarchical Cities are not where everyone lives anyway, and even mentions in the timeline that there were more than a hundred Cities "of all sizes" built, although there's only 23 HIERARCHICAL Cities. Hell, we even see this ingame--the church Ragna and his siblings lived at sure didn't look like it was part of a City. Does it factor into the story? No, not really. BlazBlue is largely nationality-less, cultural lines seem to have blurred tremendously, and the government is a worldwide one. Ikaruga was really the only "country" that existed, before they were crushed by the NOL anyway. Is it nice to have? Hell yes. I, personally, appreciate the information. It's better than having the blood types available anyway. Fuck, you might as well complain about the horribly innacurate weights we're given.
  4. They're also in the official bios for each character, or the Hierarchical City at least (unless it's "unknown"). To use an example, Jin has イギリス written as his birthplace, which translates to....England. (More specifically, Igirisu, which is derived from Ingles, but whatever.) I think Akitsu's location is written in Platinum's bio, same thing with Relius.
  5. The character bios themselves provide that, or at least what nationality they would be if BlazBlue still had them. Saying, I don't know, Platinum is from the 9th Hierarchical City of Akitsu doesn't mean much to us, but saying she's from France does. The nationalities are something for the player, really.
  6. @Almadiel: Hahahahaha, that's great. Bang also states Ikaruga is his "hometown," so I suppose Hi no Kuni might be another name for some of the land that Ikaruga once possessed. I don't recall anything about any of the American continents being ravaged by the Black Beast, but that thing was incredibly destructive so I wouldn't be surprised if it did. And the implication is that Kagutsuchi, at least, is somewhere in Eurasia, so all the European characters makes sense. I'm personally curious as to what language everybody is speaking. Probably Japanese given many of the names, but it could be Latin for all I know. Also dug a bit more and found: Makoto - 11th Hierarchical City of Shinatsu Hazama - unknown Relius - 2nd Hierarchical City of Iwatsuchi (Austria. Likely Carl is also from there.)
  7. Fffffffff, of course I would mess up Litchi's. Platinum was born in Iwasu, then? I thought it was the 9th City, Akitsu, but I'm probably wrong. Also Naobi is the 4th City, not the 3rd like I originally said.
  8. Ragna - unknown (possibly England) Jin - England Noel - Switzerland Rachel - Transylvania Tao - Kaka village Tager - unknown Litchi - China, I think Beijing specifically? Not sure Arakune - unknown Bang - Hino-Kuni (?) Carl - Austria Hakumen - unknown Nu - Kagutsuchi Lambda - uknown Tsubaki - 3rd Hierarchical City of Naobi Platinum - something Hierarchical City of Akitsu, which is somewhere in France I think Can't remember or read the rest. I swear I remember Kokonoe being born in the Hierarchical City of Wakumusubi or something, but I'm not sure if that's right. The bios are still up, just in Japanese. So yeah.
  9. Naw. Are souls and life force essentially the same thing in the BB world? Ragna's drive is Soul Eater, and the Beast is mentioned to devour souls (Arakune also eats souls and life force), but it's mentioned that the Azure also feeds on the life force of others. Unless life force is tied to a person's soul or something. It's kind of confusing.
  10. To be fair, BlazBlue isn't the only series that releases a book on its plot and details. I just wish it would be officially translated, but I don't think there's enough interest for that, sadly. Is there going to be a new Material Collection released after CS or is this the only one for a while?
  11. Yeah, it seems ambiguous. I thought the same at first until I read your post. It's his ~destiny~, or something. Or it might just be a compatibility thing. You can't just stuff anyone into the Susanoo Unit, it requires a special type of person. Jin probably ISN'T the only person at that time to be able to use it (he's certainly not the only one to ever use it, look at Terumi), but why use someone else when Jin's there with a very valid reason to devote his life to hunting down the Beast? Either way, the answer is magic.
  12. Seithr is only toxic in large doses, and you say Saya was deliberately placed in a low-level seithr environment...although it might have still exaggerated her weakness or she might have been hypersensitive to it. Jin says, "I didn't think you had the aptitude to use Armagus. Or does it have something to do with that Azure Grimoire?" Oh, I see. Maybe the Azure (sealed up in the bolder, maybe?) fixed him by attaching itself to him? It's magic, I don't know. Oh thank god, I was thinking that the story took place in 1/1/2100 and he was aware of the ten years the Black Beast rampaged and was forced to live through all of that. Rachel talks about biting Ragna in her arcade. Although she does imply that it only happened once ("The day I sunk my fangs into an innocent, helpless human. The day I had no choice but to act as the vampire I am. My first and last…sweet, sweet sin…"), so yeah, that would be the first loop. News to me. If anything it seemed Laojiu had a purifying effect ("Lao Jiu is doing his best, but I guess it's spreading faster than I anticipated.") to me. Pretty sure it's not? I certainly don't remember anything like that. It would explain quite a bit if they were though. I don't think so, unless it's in arcade, although Carl wonders if Adavana came of her own free will. And he says they feel similar, in that they don't really feel like a person. But I don't see any mention of resonance. And honestly, I for one welcome your questions and translations, because holy shit this info is awesome.
  13. Kokonoe says that it's the weakest in the very beginning of Tager's story mode. But she doesn't elaborate on what makes it so weak, so. I'm not sure. The Azure is weird, although I'd certainly trust Kokonoe's judgement over Carl's. That makes sense. It's mentioned Noel has had the highest Armagus aptitude/sync rate ever recorded, with Jin second. Low seithr, I suppose it's because even if Saya came across an Armagus and activated it, it wouldn't have that much fuel. Nooooo my OTP of Tsubaki/Noel. ;_; Family belief of noble blood? You mean she can't express it because Jin is only an adopted noble? Retcon or mistake or it's because Hakumen isn't whole yet. Or maybe, as of the True End, Hakumen and Jin count as different existences now, because Jin no longer has the opportunity to become Hakumen. I have no idea but Ragna does say in his CS arcade that Rachel gave him the Azure so....idk man. Maybe Rachel undid some magical seal or whatever allowing Ragna to go down and actually tear the Beast's arm off and attach it. And oh god, I know it's heavily implied in his alternate routes but I wasn't actually sure Ragna was alive and aware within the Black Beast...I really hope he went insane or something before Hakumen managed to kill the Beast, because that's just...Gah, Ragna, I'm sorry I'm so fixated with torturing you, you need like a million hugs.
  14. That'd be awesome. ♥ Any motivation would be good, especially since I'm so slooooooooooow at getting in gear for things. (I think most of the time spent writing is really just procrastinating or staring at the blinking cursor...) mine is summerlynx@hotmail.com . Although I warn you, I'm really new to using MSN messenger so, yeah. Clueless orz.

  15. Oh, really? That's great! *hugs back* Well, me or Infiny were giving you motivation, it depends on the fic. I did write the Unlimited!Ragna/Jin fic, though I'm thinking of rewriting it since I'm not pleased with it... I don't really mind if I'm not really anon, I haven't really been anon since I started talking to Infiny. XD I might as well be wearing a blanket over my head when I try to go anon, it's that see-through. Feel free to bother me, I don't mind~ Ooooh, sounds great. And hot. :3 Sure. ♥ Do you have MSN Messenger too?

  16. Haha, it's okay. I'm pretty good at recognizing styles too. I'm the other anon who writes a bunch of Jin/Ragna, by the way. (Although not enough, I should be writing some now orz...) Well...He could keep it on? I'm the OP of that request, so it'd be fine.

  17. Let's say... I recognize you from a certain place. coughlustsinscough. Your typing style tipped me off, but the white pants confirmed it.

  18. Yeah. Noel's everywhere, but finding good Tsubaki art is an exercise in futility. You know it's sad when your Mu folder is bigger than the Tsubaki folder. There'll be EPIC HANDHOLDING and hugging which'll come off across as straight as a pretzel. Or at least, we hope.

  19. Haha, high five! I'll admit Tsubaki/Noel isn't my OTP to end all OTPs or something, but it holds a special place in my heart. I just wish I had more fanart. My Tsubaki/Noel folder is so...pathetic. D:
