arcade release is the nov. 21. so next thursday is when we'll hopefully get some day 1 tourney footage. Wouldn't expect any good carl stuff for the first two weeks or so though. In related news, the new character Izayoi. Predictions on will we rape her vs. will she rape us? counter below. Carl adv: 1 Izayoi adv: Edit: Also, Cantata's final hit sends them more horizontally now. It doesn't instantly ground them so possibly a correctly timed 6D, volante, brio, or closeby 8D could keep the combo going. -

Well, we just got our latest batch of loketest videos. I hope there's a few more because this carl was just going for a lot of our old tricks and wasn't working out to well. I did notice one thing though. At about 1:15 he viv A'd through a burst pretty cleanly. No Akira, I'm talking about in the most recent loketest where j.A got its start up shortened. Wouldn't that alone open up the possibility to connect the 2C>viv A>j.A? I recall that it was really close to working in the first loketest, so I wonder how it will work now. -

O.k. so I just theory crafted a solo carl combo for everyone out there worried about it. It may not work, but I'm doing this off of the recent buffs and our lack of knowledge to them in our favor. Buffs used in combo -less start up on j.A -less recovery on allegretto. -6B>2C link. 5B>2B>6B>2C>viv A>j.A>j.B>j.C>j.2C>j.214C>66>j.B>j.C I may not know if this can work, but if our buffs our significant enough I think this could be our new solo route. Someone needs to find someone in the area to try this. -

1. Dead spike is insanely huge now. 2. Arakune has become about 5 times more interesting, and the fact that curse is less about "16 seconds of god mode" as it is just "5-7 bugs at the end of my combo for near 4k+ oki + 50% curse." 3. I know people were saying it's faster before, but jesus, it was really noticable in the bang video. I really like so far the direction it's going. Thank you Digital Master for uploading these. I hope if you have the time you could get more of these before the test is over. -

My thoughts. 5C jump cancel on block. Just lol, we lose 5B cross up for a 5C cross up/insane pressure poke. Awesome job Arcsys. j.A has faster start up. someone should test that 5B>6B>2C>viv A>j.A shenanigans again. might actually work again. Allgretto is now has much less recovery, almost impossible to punish. Possible to combo after allegretto with an airdash. ...so allegretto went from pretty decent to WTF HAX level overnight? Terrezzan has a stronger pull. lol. get raped hakumen. -

I don't hate mu much, just the matchup with carl. It's boring and tedious on both sides. Also, do we know of any properties of volante on CH yet? It'd be really cool if it popped them up higher to about cantabile height. Because then our being stuck in blockstun wouldn't cause us to lose our combo if we managed to hit them with it. -

Actually, Tager doesn't have to work too hard at beating a DP from Gadget. It's all about if you predict it. I stuff Rag's ID with GF>360B. It does purple throw, so it will at WORST return you to neutral, while if they did go for the DP attempt they'll throw reject miss and take an easy 4-5K. Again, all about predictions. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but if I'm right, you're dead. Haku actually has some option select oki in the corner when he ends an air combo with 5C. It's 2B>6A/2C. 2B will catch any rolls and if you time it right, even if they neutral tech you won't throw out the next move if you whiff the 2B. It's really nice. Not airtight, but hey, not everyone should have airtight oki. As for the Carl spacing on the 5C fuoco setup, I don't find my self having too much trouble getting the correct spacing. air combo>j.C>8D> to get knockdown, back dash twice because they are still in the air, walk for like 2 feet while holding nirvana to get her in position, then you have roughly the same spacing as 2D ender. gives the right spacing on most characters except for Tager because he hits 8D so dang early. Though I will say one thing. Although Psykotik is right in that the setup isn't too difficult to establish, the thing Akira I think is trying to point out is from this oki, we can't capitalize too harshly on them with it. At most if you do everything right maybe 2.7K because takes too long recovering from fuoco. Akira is saying in CP we have better damage off our oki to even reach some similar numbers to our regular CON combos. -

@Forgone If you wanted to do that combo anyway, why would you cantabile? You're saying it as if you're already at the corner. just 6B>2C>5C>j.B>j.2C>j.214C>2C. That's probably how Carl would go in the corner without nee-san. Edit: That combo though did give me a decent thing to look at for though. 5C>j.B>j.2C>22]D[>j.C>j.2C>2]D[ (wind up)>j.214C>5C>2]D[ (hit)>... sounds pretty awesome if it works. -

I know 2C vivace>jA won't combo. It's like a frame or two from getting there. I thought for awhile that doing 6A instead might've been faster, but I just looked at the frame data and it's slower by two frames. unless that's changed, which is still possible, we can't get damage without nirvana. -

We still do have the unblockable, it just doesn't loop anymore because 3]D[ forces knockdown. And the knockdown last I knew is still hard enough to combo off of. Which I'm ok with. I never really learned the loop. I still don't mind the cantabile change that much. We'd get guaranteed sandwich off it anyway because lol 46]D[. I'm more concerned that they keep taking away things with invincibility. First we lose some 6A head invincibility frames in Extend, now we lose our Vivace a projectile invuln.? I would really like one of these back please. And JG, it's not that we didn't have good oki. He's saying that we didn't have oki that lead to any REAL SOVIET damage. I wouldn't know. I haven't played even 7 hours of it because I didn't want to buy it for just one character :p Also, concerning guaranteed extend oki, didn't we have that j.5C>5C+fuoco thing that covered every possible scenario and would always either net us pressure or a combo? That's some pretty Daisharin oki right there....still not rachel level though hahaha. that stuff is made of legends. -

I'll agree that it's nice to have a more practical astral, but I so would have loved to see Deus Ex Machina buffed in a way to be usable instead. Like, the countdown was fine, but the hitbox needed to be bigger. like a 1.15 screen diameter. Sure, characters like Haz, Tao, and Rachel would never get hit by it, but everyone else would've had the ultimate footsie game of death with carl. Even without a guarantee kill, that's a lot more fun than... Am I comboing them > do I have the meter > do I need to bait a burst > win. edit: I'm pretty sure it takes 70 counts to use burst again after you've used it once in CP. Not all matches will have it, but Rachel's could likely take advantage of two bursts if they're caught once early on. -

I don't see how we have any better oki than we did in EX. At most 46D will make every j.C oki end in CON pressure from the get go. I'll admit, it's nice, but nothing like rachel level oki. Honestly I'm glad our poke game got better. Also, we have more reliable ways to get to CON, which is all we really needed. volante will ruin someone's day because they could go from pressuring me to CON like that because of the launch. 46D I'm calling is gonna replace Rag's 5B on the BS move scale. Huge ass range. Like, x1.25 6D range, plus its covers from nirvana's head to her feet. It hits twice, so people might figure out some wonky cross up with it. It's stun is actually fairly stupid. Like it has as much if not more than 6D block/hit stun. It's got decent start up. I'm guessing around 24 frames. That's like the 4th fastest nirvana move, coming behind super, brio, anima (yes it's the third fastest). And lastly it pulls them in. Do I really need 5B jump cancel on block if nirvana can now do the same job at range for me? Think about it, we don't really need to stay around halfway 5C range on her anymore except for a select few characters. 46D is such a huge threat at range we can stay right next to nee-san and when we get 46D to connect hit or block, j.2C alle cancel will continue our pressure from there. Seriously, I predict if they don't fix 46D before release, it will be nerfed anyway next game. Edit: Who else is gonna 46D>vivace A people right at the start of matches? -

I thought he was just transfused with some demon blood because he was like, bled out on the battlefield or something. Lord knows where they got the demon blood or even found the demons in the first place. Not a real mention of it anywhere else for it to make sense. Also pretty sure Amane turns bang into like his 14 year old self or something. Maybe 11, but if that's true he'd be a tall ass 11 year old. -

zeth, go look up some axl low in GG^C+R. Now go look at lambda. I'll wait. Yes she has some dirty mixup (crescent feints, 4B(1) miss overheads), but that's about getting in their face, like every other character. You don't want to do that too much with her playstyle, since she really has no way out of it doesn't work out well (other than backdash, but lol rag 5b). What makes lambda kinda unique is fighting at ridiculous range. I'd gladly let them make 4B riskier if I could just make ground spike like axl's (4)6H. I'd even let them nerf it so you could IAD over it, so long as It actually became a potential threat. Even moreso since primers are going away and that moves usefulness is literally going to drop by 1/3. Also, the way gravity seed works is ass backwards. Edit: on the whole DLC characters thing, I don't mind it so long as they do it one way. You can unlock them either DLC or in-game, but it's such a bitch to do it in game you'd rather pay DLC anyway. Seriously, other than people who likes the story, who liked going through the whole story mode just to get Mu? Or even getting the unlimited characters in CS1 lol.
