  1. Goro. ■光の戦士さんインタビュー ――現在のメインキャラと段位を教えてください(取材:2015年3月) 光の戦士さん(以下、光の戦士) メインキャラクターはマコトで16段です。サブキャラクターは使わずにマコト一筋です! Please tell us your main character and ranking. Goro: My Main is Makoto (16 dan). I don't use any sub character and am devoted to Makoto! ――ホームゲーセンや主戦場はどちらですか? 光の戦士  ゲーセンは金曜日に行けるので、金曜の“立川オスロー”には欠かさずに行くようにしています。ほかには、“八王子セントラル”で土曜日に大会があるときは 絶対に行くようにしていますし、月曜日には“HWB”(※)というガチ対戦のイベントもあるので時間があれば駆けつけてます。主戦場は西東京がメインにな りますね。 ※ゲームプラザセントラル八王子で定期的に行われている録画対戦会。ルールは5試合先取方式。参加費:1組あたり700円(ひとり350円) Where is your home arcade/battleground? Goro: I can go to the arcade on Fridays, and I go to tachikawa on Fridays without fail. Besides that, I also go to central hachiouji on Saturdays when ther are tournaments. On Mondays, I also attend HWB if I have the time. My battleground would be West Tokyo. ――ゲームセンターへ通う頻度はどれぐらいでしょうか? 光の戦士 いまは週1ぐらいですね……。できるときにやっているというのが現状です。 How often do you go to the arcade? Goro: Currently, about once a week. I go when I can. ――稼動からある程度時間の経過した本作ですが、対戦内容の感触はいかがでしょうか? 光の戦士  本バージョンのマコトでは、相手キャラに触れられないということがなくなったのでそれだけで楽しいですね(笑)自分も攻撃のターンがもらえるという部分だ けでも本当に楽しめています。攻撃ターンをもらったうえで負けちゃったなら、それは「自分の殴り合いが弱かったんだな」と思えますし。得意なキャラとして は、テイガーとハクメンは勝率がかなりよくて自信があります。じっくりキャラの立ち位置を見れたり、自分のやりたいことをゆっくり考える時間があったりと か、スローペースな試合が得意です。テイガーやハクメンはその部分を早い展開にしようと思ってもできないキャラなので、落ち着いてプレイできます。 It has been some time since this version came out in the arcade. How does the game feel to you? Goro: With this version's Makoto, it's no longer the case that you can't be touched by your opponent, so that alone makes it fun (laughs). The fact that I too will get a turn on offense makes it really fun. If I get a turn on offense and still lose in spite of that, I can think 'I didn't play well'. Against Tager and Hakumen, who I am particularly good against, my win rate is very storng and I am confident. I can take my time to look at my opponents position, and have plenty of time to think about what I want to do. I favor these kinds of slow space matches. Even if Tager and Hakumen want to speed up the match, they can't, so I can play calmly. ――逆に苦手なキャラクターはいますか? 光の戦士 ツバキ戦の勝率がかなり悪いですね。まず、ツバキは動きが素早いのでスローペースな試合にはなりにくいです。あと、技の空振りを見てるんですが、ツバキは通常攻撃に追加攻撃があるので、よくその追加部分に突っ込んでカウンターをもらってしまいます(笑)。 On the other hand, are there any characters you are weak against? Goro: My win rate is particularly bad against Tsubaki. Tsubaki is quick, so it's hard to have a slow-paced match. Also, I often get counter hit by her followups that are available on whiff (laugh). ――トレーニングモードなど、個人練習はどのようなことをしていますか? 光の戦士 プレイの期間を開けないという意味でひとり用をテキトーにやっているぐらいですね。新しいコンボを見つけるとか、セットプレイを考えるとかは自分には向いていないので、そういったトレーニングモードの活用は控えています。 What kind of things do you do to practice? ( training mode etc) Goro: Excluding when I am actually playing, little. Finding new combos or thinking about setplay is something I am not suited to, so that use of training mode is something I avoid. ――本作で注目しているプレイヤーはいますか? 光の戦士 しーの君(ノエル)、まぶかぷさん(レリウス)、naoさん(ヴァルケン)は本作をがんばっているので応援しています。対戦を欠かさずやるという意味では、まぶかぷさんがとくにがんばっていると思うので、活躍して欲しいですね。 Are there any players you are noticing in this version? Goro: shiino (noel), mabukabu (relius), nao (valk) are working hard in this version so I am rooting for them. In terms of matches, I think mabukabu is particularly working hard so I would like for him to perform well. ――ズバリ、『BBCP』がうまくなるコツは何でしょう? 光の戦士  いちばん大切なのは、対戦で勝てなくても我慢してお金を入れることです(笑)。対戦相手は、自分と同じレベルの人、少し上のレベルの人、かなり上のレベル の人、の3種類を設定するといい目安になります。「今日はこのレベルの人にお金を入れる」といった課題を持って対戦すれば、メリハリが付いていいのかなと 思います。 What's the trick to becoming good at BBCP? Goro: The most important thing is that even if you cannot win, you tolerate it and put more money in the machine (laughs). Taking opponents of the same level, slightly above level, and significantly above level and saying 'Today I'll spend money on people of this level', as your way of practicing, should provide a nice variety and work well. ――2015年4月には家庭用の発売が予定されていますが、オンライン対戦へは参戦しますか? 光の戦士 すみません、オンライン対戦には参戦予定はありません。アーケードが一番ですし、今は家で格闘ゲームをやるっていうのが不思議でしょうがない感じなのでゲーセンでプレイしますね。 In april, the console version will be released. Will you play online? Goro: Sorry, I have no plans in playing online. The arcade is the best, and right now playing fighting games at home feels very strange so I will continue playing in the arcade. ――今後、もし全国規模の大型大会があれば参戦しますか? 光の戦士 形式によります。3on3がいちばんうれしいのですが、それ以外の形式だったら参戦は見合わせる可能性が高いですね。3on3なら組んでみたいメンバーが居るので、そのチームで参戦してみたいです。 Here on out, if there is a large scale national tournament, will you participate? Goro: It depends on the form. I would be the most happy about 3 on 3, and with any other format there's a high chance I'd think twice. with 3 on 3, there's particular people I'd like to play with, so I'd like to participate with that team. ――読者に自由にひと言コメントお願いします! 光の戦士 『BBCP』 はゲームなので、楽しくやれればいいなと思います。自分でその“楽しさ”をどこに設定するのかは難しいところなんですが、僕の場合はやっぱり勝ち負けがあ る以上は勝ちたいんですよね。最近は対戦内容に納得できなければ勝ってもうれしくないということが増えていて、そういう「どういうふうに勝つ」とか「勝つ べくして勝ったのか」というのを模索するのもよいと思います。とにかく、自分なりの楽しむ方法を見つけてプレイしてほしいですね! A comment for the readers, please! Goro: BB is a game, and I think it's best to have fun while playing it. For me, that 'fun' is hard to identify, but, given that there is winning and lose, I want to win. Recently, I'm more often having matches that I win, but I'm not satisfied with the contents of the matches and am thus not happy. S ジン ニュー A ヴァルケンハイン ハザマ ココノエ レリウス ライチ テイガー タオカカ  B アズラエル ラグナ ツバキ マコト バング イザヨイ カルル ノエル カグラ  C レイチェル プラチナ バレット セリカ ミュー ラムダ  D アマネ テルミ ハクメン アラクネ AランクとDランクには差があるが、A~Cランクまではそこまで差はないとのこと。世間的に評判の高いラグナはBランクと評価されているが、これについては以下のように語っている。 「ラグナはどこまでいってもラグナです。“空中ダッシュめくりDインフェルノディバイダー”は強力な崩し手段ですが、それ以外のガード崩し行動は、大きい 大会で勝ち上がってくるような相手には通用しないものです。そう考えると、差し合いをしなければいけないので、いろいろなキャラがキツくなってくるんじゃ ないかと思います。」 While there is a difference between A rank and D rank, from A to C rank the difference is not that large.   5. dora has also said bang rachel is hard for bang then eliminated N-O from evo, beat him in a first to 10, and beat him again in another tournament in CP2 so let's not put him up on a pedestal wait for skd
  6. it mostly doesn't matter because the jA would hit whether they are crouching or not. if the j.A would whiff sometimes on crouching it could be helpful.
  7. the japanese term F-shiki really is used to refer to the situation where an attack hits a standing box when they are trying to crouch. if the second attack would hit anyway it doesn't matter. the basic concept is that the guardbox doesn't change immediately from standing to crouching, it takes time. hitstop/blockstun whatever locks you into your stance even though you're trying to change. So characters with a high jab, can do stuff like jC>5A and if the jC is blocked, the 5a will be blocked too. same principle but it isn't a mixup. but nothing I saw above fits into any definition I know. it's just J.B then j.A.
  8. it doesn't have to be a mixup. the same premise works with moves that don't have mixup properties, that can be blocked high or low.
  9. I guess PS3 is probably the correct choice for me. When all of the stick makers have their stuff together for PS4, I'll buy a new stick I guess. The next version of BB on console is only going to be a year and a half out probably anyway. Don't see myself switching to PS4 full time just yet anyway. Not when I would like to be able to swap to UNIEL easily etc. Probably digital again. There's a bonus for preordering this time? Previously, It was just purchasing early I thought? Also people using english celica are getting blocked

  11. This is a common OS that LK has been talking about and using for years AFAIK. It doesn't even need to be against a character with particular crossup stuff, you can use it against IADs over you and things too.

  13. I guess he goes by Amerikaqn for a reason. Like father Like son but really, to understand stuff you need to understand the contents of the matches. Generally, better players have a better understanding of the contents of a match. It's not uncommon to have misconceptions. The more I play a matchup, my opinion on things can go back and forth <Beginner----------Expert> <----A-----B----C-----D----> A. Hazama chains are godlike B. IAD Over the chain, EZ C. Just IB the Chain and 5A, no problem D. Fuck ouroboros you come full circle and realize that you hate Hazama just like you did when you started but you've got reasons for it. The catch is every one out of A B C and D thinks they're right. And I'm out.

  23. what part of the site are you looking at? dan doesn't drop over time. there's IIRC a weird ranking thing that is largely based on how much you played the game.
  24. The point is that the rankings depends on who you are playing against. For example, if we had nesica in the united states we'd show up on that same list with lots of people at 15+ dan. And some areas don't have anyone that play Carl, or play Rachel, or play Valk, and that affects stuff too. It's common for people to go to tokyo and have their dan drop a lot... Also, are your rankings based strictly on if there is just one player at a given dan? So if someone gets to 18 dan and stops playing their character is permanently S.
