  1. Maybe you just need to accept that your tastes are pedestrian and you ARE the lowest common denominator. Or maybe you just have crappy taste in characters. Who knows. Let's be honest though "having links" in BB isn't really that big a deal. Input buffer is your friend.
  2. Or maybe he means "Gadget Flinger" where they RC gadget finger and you kinda float around all weird and can either be Atomic Collidered, or they can let you land right into a 360? Does this still work? I never did figure out WTF to do about that, but at least Tager should have less meter this time. (No more "I use 50 meter to mix you up and regain 40 in the subsequent combo")
  3. Which is why Jab > Overhead seems to work so well even though by rights it should be much easier to mash out of than chaining from a heavier attack.
  4. Yeah, the only time I'm aware of when you want to block high by default is when block Noel's drive string, because inexplicably her drive overhead is super fast but her drive low is like 24 frames. @_@
  5. Yeah, as Errol said, "against a character with better normals than you" is basically "Against the entire cast"; I guess maybe Rachel and Carl have worse normals, but... :P Yeah. The answer is "outplay them" and/or "pin them in the corner and don't let them do anything." Welcome to Tsubaki. Deadthing: There really isn't any trick to that. You just need to spend a lot of time in training mode. Practice your combos. Set your training dummy to block everything and practice pressure (ideally, once you have an idea what the 'safe' avenues are). For dealing with lag, there's no dealing with it, really, just try not to play in laggy conditions. 2C an anti air option (it used to be really good, now it's meh, because Tsubaki can't have nice things). Her DP is another one, but that's more executionally difficult and unless you're doing it with them really low to the ground, the invulnerability will wear off before it makes contact. The other anti-air option you can use, especially against people who are getting tricky to try to beat your 2C, is to jump and air throw them. Corner options? DP out. Roll out if your opponent isn't paying attention. superjump/doublejump j.214C. Superjump airdash. find a spot in their pressure to mash out. Barrier until they are pushed back. Counter assault. None of those are great choices, but one of them is almost always going to work, it's just a question of picking the right one.
  6. Then they turn around and say "No no, she's B tier! She's fine!" I dunno though. "Her whole game is going to revolve around using shield rush to get in" was pretty facepalm. This is super true too. And it has only gotten worse as time goes on as they inexplicably make her normals WORSE and increase barrier pushback with each game.
  7. My weekends are usually pretty busy (next two are completely full) but if someone wants to draw a line in the sand and say "Blazbue. Day X. Be there." I'll make the effort to show up because I'm a sucker. :P
  8. Not really, no. Here is the Youtube of it, timestamped to the start of the Tsubaki section. If this is what most experienced players think of Tsubaki, they have no business including her in a tier list at all. :P Starts right off with the ol' chestnut about her being the 'fastest runner in the game' when Makoto and Bang have higher max speed and Bang and the Murakumos have a higher initial speed, and it only gets more wince inducing from there.
  9. I hate to give away super secret tips and make my character even lower tier, but this overhead is crap and the only way you can get confused is if you watch the wrong thing. Watch the book. When it floats over towards you, you are getting overheaded. Otherwise, just stay low regardless of how much twirling she does. Tsubaki's mixup is complete garbage. I suspect very strongly that the only reason Tsubaki isn't placed in Makoto tier in the tier lists is because no one actually understands how she works. Listening to Brkrdrv try to explain her gameplan and why she was low tier on the UltrachenTV BBCP episode was painful.
  10. Because honestly, it's a bit of a haul for me to do on a work night - 30 minutes out in zero traffic, and believe you me, when everyone and their nephew is leaving Cambridge for the night, it takes me 30 minutes just to get onto the Mass Pike. :P The other reason is because I've never seen any indication that people actually go there to play BB - chicken and egg, I suppose, but there it is. I've been to LOTS of events where I had reason to believe there would be at least a couple of playing playing BB and it turned out there weren't, so I'm sure as hell not driving out to Framingham to watch people play Marvel then turn around and go home.
  11. It's not bull; They probably looked at it and went "Holy %^&^#$*! This is going to take MONTHS!" and so it was 'too difficult' to do BY THE RELEASE DATE. Also, the problem with "Well if you don't like the localization, don't buy it." is, in no small part, that most people only find out the localization is bad AFTER they bought it.
  12. FYI, it might be good to update your Dustloop profile with your general vicinity (even just your state/province) so that you can more easily find folks to whom you might have a good connection.
  13. Yeah, orange line is sadmaking. I may drive. I am going to PAX! Rawr!
  14. Pretty much. And even if you do, you'll be playing it for like a month before everyone moves on. :P
  15. Just looked up that location. That's.... less that entirely convenient for us red line goers. I guess I can probably drive. They damn well better have enough room for people.
  16. I don't think so; If you'll remember, they did a couple of 'version' patches to P4A, and they sure didn't count as real sequels. BBCP:Double Bonus Timesuck Edition is still on the horizon. :P
  17. Well, if those are your issues, they're going to be your issues regardless of what character you pick; Yeah. Mostly you'll need to log a bunch of time just playing the game. Go to training mode, learn 1-2 combos (I suggest "Combo Zero" aka 5BB > 5CC > 236B > 214B > 22B and maybe a one charge variant with 22D). Work on those until you can get them down at least 4 times out of five. Then set the dummy to 'COM' with a level of at least 70 or so (Computer at 50 is so dumb it barely does anything) and practice landing those combos. Repeat with more combos once you feel like you are mostly hitting your stuff.
  18. Well, if you can get a good Counterhit confirm, you only need 1 charge and 50 meter for big damage. So practice that hitconfirm and/or fish for counterhits.
  19. Stick with Tsubaki? Install/Overdrive combos with her are awesome. There aren't actually many characters that can compete with her in that regard, since most other characters who had "power up supers" got them transformed into Overdrives. IMHO, it's super hype to combo into an Install Super - nothing says "Okay, now it's on!" like that powerup animation.
  20. Basically, they are bad at localizing at least in part because they only started doing it recently. Most of the errors in CP are what I'd consider "newbie mistakes" - the kind that come from just not having a lot of experience doing this, or from rushing/not checking your work thoroughly (though the title menu issue is pretty egregious.). We can hope they'll improve over time. On the other hand, Aksys is a company for whom localization is pretty much their ONLY business. It's what they do. They've been doing it for a long time and they're good at it.
  21. Valk seems kinda fair! Konan lost that match, legit.
  22. Okay, so full charge is needed. I guess I just need to do the whole thing faster, because I initially tried that and the 22D whiffed, so I guess I just didn't cancel 214D fast enough.
