  1. Really? You don't think getting 3k and oki off her instant overhead would make her S tier? "Should be"?
  2. We call this "making a finished character"; I mean, WTF was up with her gatlings before? I'm still wondering if there are other characters in the game who have "you can only gatling to this TWICE in a string"? This is like, the backwards interpretation of what I was saying. I wasn't saying "CT Rachel was broken because of her IOH" I was saying "If Rachel had gotten high damage off her IOH in games SINCE CT, she might have been top tier in them, but she didn't, so she wasn't, unlike Valk, who did, and was." Honestly he didn't sound like he needed to be a LOT better...
  3. It did, apparently, stop her from being top tier since CT...
  4. We can only hope. That clown has escaped the nerfbat for waaaay too long.
  5. Well, I'll be there. I've been too tired/lazy/annoyed by the cold to show up lately, but next Tuesday, I promise.
  6. Glad I can be of technical service.
  7. Previous versions of BB say you are wrong.
  8. Actually, it sounded kinda like they are keeping him from doing j.C "reps" at all (basically, just once) because they changed the pushback on it. Yeah, it's kinda stupid, it's like: Kokonoe Tier: Huge nerf S Tier: Fiddly changes A+ Tier: NERFS! B tier: Fiddling changes C tier: Fiddling changes and nerfs Izayoi Tier: Buffs, yay. It doesn't really get more random than that.
  9. Everyone is afraid of Kiba.
  10. There's no real point in "practicing" versus any of the AI for more than like a moving target dummy. There are plenty of ways to beat AI Tager, and most of them are dumb, but the same can be said for most of the AIs at high levels. It's just a matter of finding out when the AI does what and then beating it. AI Tager actually felt extremely predictable to me back when I was practicing on him, but it's been too long for me to give any specific tips, and besides, what works changes between versions. Who the heck are you playing that you have no choice but to be 360'd after your initial attack?
  11. Isn't that more "Kagura doesn't have an air version of his DP" than "Kagura's DP is a charge motion"? Izayoi changes are all over the place. Good to see them buffing Trans-am, but some of those other changes make me go "huh?"
  12. It doesn't sound like much of a nerf - reducing the overall duration is a BUFF because it makes it 'recover' faster. Shorter distance...well, depends on how much shorter, but unless it's a LOT this is likely to be a net buff. What does: Mean?
  13. Sorry, but you just listed a bunch of characters with SOMEWHAT better DPs who have infinitely worse backdash options. Azrael wins because he has TWO strong defensive options, even if his backdash is "Not as good as Tager's" and his DP is "not as good as Inferno Divider" the simply fact that he has both is HUGE. And yes, you've completely forgotten that it gets him out of all kinds of projectile oki for free. And they're buffing it to fix the 'negative on hit' thing. Can some people OS both? Probably. Is that any easier that OSing most other DPs by themselves? Not really.
  14. I think having a square gate makes hitting diagonals a little easier, and that's key for IADs, but like most 'gate' questions, it's really what you're used to. Therefore, you should get used to square gate because that's what most sticks you may have to use will have. :P
  15. Sorry, did we drop Litchi from the list of top tier characters now?
  16. No, I'm saying he's a character who is SUPPOSED to have bad defense, so why should he get a super good option compared to the rest of the cast?
  17. That's not how the question works. The correct question is "Why does Relius deserve a backdash that is barely more than half the commitment of most characters (only 13 frame duration vs 20 for 'average'), but with significantly more invulnerability?" Relius has monstrous neutral and several reversal options already. There is no reason for his backdash to be leaps and bounds better than most of the rest of the cast - the short duration, with over half the time invulnerable, makes it a ridiculously good option.
  18. Backdashes don't have "recovery" in the sense that most moves do, because they don't have any such thing as "active" frames. All backdashes have is: A total duration - How long the animation lasts when you do a backdash An invulnerability duration (unless you're Hakumen :P ) - How long you are invulnerable at the start of the backdash. Some backdashes also have an 'aerial time' - i.e. for what parts of the backdash does a hit count as an air hit vs a ground hit. So adding two frames to the total duration of Azrael's backdash means that when he backdashes, it takes two more frames to travel the distance, and he's not invulnerable for any more time. I don't think backdashing as a whole was too strong in BB - I have no idea why they're puttering around adding additional frames to Makoto's backdash, but some characters definitely had backdashes that were too good. Actually, the only character who deserves a GOOD backdash is Tager. Azrael has NO BUSINESS having all that invulnerability. Neither do Valk or Relius.
  19. Well, for one thing, it's not a projectile anymore, which keeps it from being free to Sledge and Hakumen. Second, it just has more invulnerability, so it trades less. Third, they removed landing recovery from j.236D, which means that cancelling into that makes it surprisingly safe on block (the opponent HAS to punish you in the air, and there's a big glowy projectile in the way of them doing so.). Japanese Tsubaki players DP a LOT now.
  20. Does using 3C call out his backdash effectively? It travels, and has a ton of active frames...
  21. Actually, Tsubaki's DP in CP is really pretty strong. It's not as good as Mu's, but that's not the reason Mu is higher in the tier list. Not at all.
  22. Where's the option for "Gimmicky"? :P
  23. I haven't noticed any situations in which I felt it would be helpful. I mean, there's nothing stopping people from posting it, but at the end of the day, the community isn't really that big, and people tend to at least have a sort of "I played Bob, and he said you were good." connection. Also, most people are willing to play with ANYONE they have a halfway decent connection to at least once, and after that, they KNOW if you're "worth" playing with again or not. So, no, not really.
  24. Because nobody cares about people's online rank/win rate, and there's no tracking of offline stuff outside of the arcade version.
  25. About the only thing that whiff cancels were good for was stuffing Noel's stupid counter assault if they did it at the wrong time, and since her CA is an attack now, even that doesn't matter. :P
