I can see this situation happening a lot tbh. It used to happen with me ocassionally. Guess it can be used as a decoy. There are a lot of mindgames involving 22D which is cool.

It should do. Or the opponent may not know what the hell is going on, and they could just be a violent masher, lol.

I do not believe so. Setups 1-6 in the unblockable compilation all lose to reversals. They can't retaliate if they're trapped in setup 8, and I'm unsure if setup 7 loses to reversals. Probably does. On the other hand it's not so pointless when your opponent virtually has to answer to them, (or it's difficult for them to retaliate) such as Platinum w/o bat or heat, and Lambda.

Oh hello stranger. I'd play with you but I'm unable to go online unfortunately. I'm not gonna get too invloved into this debate but: Ragna is just problematic because of the type of pressure he can inflict, and this is especially problematic when you're using characters such as Tsubaki. You just need to be vigilant. Jump over DS and followup with j.C > combo, 6B can usually be reacted to and if it's telegraphed you can poke him out of it. He also has a really strong defense. 5C is annoying to deal with as characters who do not really have an answer to it, again, just like Tsubaki. With Valk, it's barely anything you should worrying about. My personal problem with Ragna isn't his damage, it's just having to block all the time after a combo and taking that type of pressure, especially the corner, where he has several different ways of punching your face with oki options. His mixup is sub par too. Valkenhayn is problematic because he has some things which you just can't deal with. I really fail to agree that his instant overhead is easy to see coming, because it's not that hard for a person to transition into a low attack after a j.C normal. It just seems like someone is being very telegraphed here. He also has good oki options too. If you're Bang and you have no heat a command grab will simply beat out most of your wakeup options. Of course if you had the heat you could asura, but again Valk could potentially bait it with a 4C/7C, and you would have wasted 50 heat, just to find yourself back to square one again. Sure human mixup is not that troubling but I think you may be forgetting the fact that Valk could just mix in wolf options. 2A > 5D > Command grab for instance. It's mainly the wolf that's scary. Apparently on the ground if he special cancels with 3D and follows up into w[5A] you can't poke him out and he'll just get a CH. You can poke him out of his other options too, but what's annoying is that he makes you move and can even make you do stupid things when he's in wolf because you do not want to get hit. Sure his defense is pretty abysmal, but that's where wolf mix up comes in. I agree with Chaz that there are not a lot of Valks because he takes a lot of hard work to get used to, and you really do not need to see more people using him to realise he's good. I also agree that you should try playing a really good Valk. I think I've seen that Valk player you're referring to. If you do not find him scary then fairplay, I'm not disputing that as it's your opinion. I just think overall Valk is better than Ragna, and he's a stupid character because he can take way too many risks for very high reward. His meter gain is insane and 95% of his midscreen combos guarantee corner carry.

In the corner, you can go for this little gimmick. 6CC OTG > 22D > Dash 5D So for example, you would do 5BB > 5CC > 623C > j.214D > 6CC > 22D > Dash 5D. From there, you'll have your back to the corner and you'll have a few options: -If your opponent neutral techs you can cross under with a dash 2A and have them back in the corner. 2B can be used to cross under too but not completely recommended because it's slower. You could even go for a meaty unblockable. -If your opponent rolls you can catch the roll with 2B/3C. It costs one stock however, and it isn't exactly a fantastic setup because there's no telling how your opponent is going to react if you attempt to dash under 2A. This is where you'd use 2B I guess, because it'll catch rolls and cross under at the same time. You can use that to condition them, and then start applying the mindgames, forcing them to neutral tech. Just something I discovered and thought I should throw out. It's also worth noting that I do not take complete credit for this since -Kid helped me out lol.

It's really just to play Valk. I find Rachel more annoying to play against when I'm Valk anyway, and it's really so I can watch it back and critique myself. It's so conveniant how my Tsubaki rarely gets screen time against a Rachel. I'll make sure of that next time. I forgot about that Errol! Just double checked. With Bat's combo, the combo drops at 2CC after the IAD j.CC, so you'll need to go for an air ender, or 214D > 5C > 2CC > Special ender. My combo drops at 236C because 2CC was used, so instead, use 2C CH AA > 5C > 2C > 623C > Rest of combo. VVVV No problem Bat!
