  1. Wow...Yuu's sweep is soooooo unsafe... If he's doing oki and combo's into sweep. If he does not use Izanagi to cover the recovery, punish that to hell... On a similar note, it might not hurt to learn some Yuu pressure strings. Experimenting with when to take a hit might be one way to get out. I'm sure certain moves are easier to hitconfirm into knockdown or even combo into knockdown than others.
  2. Whee. I've been waiting for this
  3. I really want to say no. At high level axe...I'm pretty certain that's a no. The problem becomes the range of the 5a, since Labrys has a pretty long dash startup, they will probably have time to block afterwards. I guess you can test it since I won't be able to for a while... Well in that case, we can make that a 50:50, since it becomes completely timing/spacing dependent. You are trying to hit deep j.B which makes it easier to anti-air (more time to wait) versus trying to go for a shallow j.B where it just touches which becomes much harder to anti-air. In the case of deep j.B, you get an easier time following up after the combo, but you put yourself at more risk of getting anti-aired. In the case of the shallow j.B, you get an easier time baiting and punishing anti-air attempts, but you may lose out on the followup should they block it or you don't get counterhit
  4. j.B is very annoying in this matchup. Labrys has a hard time anti-airing her own j.B and if you mess up...be prepared to eat a nice CH combo or set up. Labrys has a lot of unsafe pressure. If your opponent is being overly aggressive, start IB-ing and punishing. That said, she also has a few airtight strings, so if that's all they are using...it's time to take some risks. Agree with the momentum aspect, but that's the story of this game.
  5. Watch his meter very closely. If he hits 25...be EXTREMELY cautious with throwing out moves period. He can pretty much EX air lunge for free, or worse...if you are spacing him with 5C he can roll -> EX command throw. Also, learn the timing on the DP...its vital that you don't get zapped when trying to punish it and missing the timing.
  6. Shoutouts to water Shoutouts to being physically tired but still walking around and talking like a fool Shoutouts to Mightfo's decrees Shoutouts to stuff I dunno. 30 labrys challenges later...I still feel like I'm crap
  7. If I have to...I can bring something. But it will have to leave with me of course hehe ^ Me on Saturday
  8. Yay lab fun...going to enjoy the weeks following this Saturday. I want more labtime!
  9. Bait the weaving punish with DP!...well sometimes it can work. You can also lure them into trying to punish it and then do EX ducking > cork for a possible fatal counter.
  10. Looking forward to the meetup! Sitting in the corner sipping dat H2O. Living the good life.
  11. Either way, you will have to deal with stagger 5a pressure, ridiculous oki, mixup city from half the other cast. Heck maybe I'll play Chie in spirit.
  12. You gotta be SBO champion tier to say fuckchie and back it up apparently
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8_O9VIUmmiQ#t=85s WHOA hold the phone...I can has moves that combo off 5c without rapid cancel now oh and bluebeat combos in trailers are...hype too? I guess?
  14. They say...we can start team tournies at 6 probably. Since I'm doing onsite registration, it probably won't start till 7. You could still make it?
  15. Can people come check this out? Yell in chat stream once you connect twitch.tv/transientfaith Over now. Thanks PureYeti!
  16. Sad Я I. Hopefully we'll have a stream so you can tune in to the fun from home. I second this. If you can do wednesday evening I'll definitely show up...
  17. While you should maintain pressure, it is completely viable to also take a defensive approach. Labrys's punish game is amazing if you can instant block. Just use a little meter to push yourself from green axe to red axe off 25 meter 5A/2A whiff/unsafe punish and go nuts. Correct. If your opponent is in blockstun, air unblockable moves (ie. Yu 2b, Lab 2b, etc) lose their unblockable property.
  18. wb. Brutal axe combooooos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO-6CU-S1VU
  19. From what the Atlus rep told me at EVO, this game will NOT have offline rematch option.
  20. So much for resignation/vacation/soulsearching. WTF kind of post is this. You are as free as you put your mind into to. We ARE all human, that is WHY we can improve with practice. Just play the game, get experience. This is especially true for you Edge. You resign yourself to being a salty scrub netplayer, but tell me honestly you put effort into learning your characters options/matchups. Do you dedicate time to grind out your weak points? Do you look actively search for people to help you improve your game? Do you think about different ways to approach your game plan and evaluate the pros and cons of each such option? I know I don't. Let's take my Blazblue Noel for example. I have not been 1) working on grinding out combos. 2) working on hitconfirming, something all Noel players worth their salt need to do 3) challenging other players 4) trying to improve my overall gameplay/flow (like Oso says, stop flowcharting matchups) Where does that leave me? Free and scrub. But this is all personal lack of dedication. I strongly believe (despite my handle) that people can improve. It takes motivation, and hopefully I can try to help provide some of that motivation when I come back after my journey...and p4a drops, but in the end, the question rests on your shoulders? Do I want to do what it takes to make me a better player? Ok. Rant over.
  21. Hmm good stuff guys... Shoutouts to...no BB while I was there. I'm OK with that though Shoutouts to playing SSF4 and Jet kicking me off Shoutouts to AH3 nonsense, its Mahvel Bahbee 2abce->air combo Shoutouts to Smash Shoutouts to playing all sorts of random games for that matter A moment of silence for my stick... and...Shoutouts to meeting Sunfish though we didn't play any games (because I don't play any games) Looking forward to playing everyone in P4A... Will be vanishing for a bit to go on a journey, will see most of you in August
  22. It's good to know that he can do substantial damage with 2c fatal counter.
  23. http://www.gamespot.com/video/the-fightsticks-of-evo-2012-6386809/ RIP USPS Box 7/9/2012 You had a good life...
  24. I wouldn't say she's really scrubby...just basic. At high levels, she definitely has a harder time getting in and does play more like a grappler. She has a couple oki setups with Myriad Arrows and String Arts, but overall she just has to play solid and punish the other person's mistakes.
  25. I might come chill out...BB makes me sad and I don't really play other games
