  1. You kids get out of my thread.
  2. Anyone else kind of hype for air Blood Kain combos? This sounds fun.
  3. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I found a corner airthrow combo that I like. j.C+D > OMC > 2B > j.C > j.214A > 5A > 5B > j.C > j.214A > Ziodyne/Cross Slash (4.2k/4.5k) And one that feels like it might be Yu specific with the ender or something j.C+D> OMC > 2B > 5B > j.C > j.214A > 2B > 5B > j.C > j.214A > Ziodyne/Cross Slash (4.4k/4.7k) I've been able to get Cross Slash to work only on Yu, though the Ziodyne version works on everyone.
  4. But that requires effort.
  5. I look away from this thread for a day. Solar and Toasty are trying to be fabulous all over it. Axis is getting stuck in Confederate states. And I am hungry at 12:25 AM. Fuck this life.
  6. I'm gonna just go ahead and be the first asshole. Better start walking.
  7. LOL. Don't scare a nigga like that! Love you bro
  8. ....Did something happen to the controller and game?
  9. Hey Blak, next time you're in the area, you mind giving me back my Gamecube and stuff? Also, Proto, I'm not coming today. My car engine was making weird noises when I started it up this morning, and no mechanic is open on Sunday. Fuck.
  10. Last time we went until 11 PM, but generally people start showing up 2 or 3 and leaving 10-11
  11. Skye, Shadow casuals on Friday, yes or yes?
  12. Rolls aren't invuln on frame 1, their invuln starts after initial start-up. And they can be thrown the entire time. Most R-actions are typically invincible frame 1 or have super armor frame 1. It depends on the character. edit: Beaten to the punch, yo.
  13. In my professional opinion, using meter to combo off throw really isn't worth it unless it's going to kill them.
  14. Ragna never had oki that not only forced people to block, but also gave him several options with which to mix-up the opponent, and all of them would lead to a confirm that would either A. Lead to big damage in the corner/with meter B. Lead into the oki set-up again The predictability will all depend on the player and how they use those options. Think about it: with 5D oki, he can cross-up, safe jump, empty jump mix-up, air dash mix-up, tick throw, and if done correctly, he'll be safe while doing any of these. Izanagi will keep them honest. So just learn your options and mix it up, and it'll open your opponents up.
  15. If you block his dive kick standing, he's not really plus. If you block it in the air, he's punishable. Same goes with this sword dive. Don't block them crouching, that gives him frame advantage. Otherwise, he's barely safe and you can use it to gain momentum. 2C is negative, if he tries to frame trap you with it in a blockstring, you can block him and punish in most cases. His only real safe option is backdash cancelling, as none of his specials are safe to go into outside of C Projectile (which is punishable on block), and either way, it's a guaranteed persona card lost. Slide is also negative and leaves him crouching, so if you block that, make it hurt. His AoA is REALLY negative. And if you get him to whiff his 2B, he's in recovery for a good amount of time, in counter hit state too.
  16. Sounds cool. Let's meet up when you do. You gotta be more specific than that. What happened?
  17. I'm probably gonna go just for Persona.
  18. It really really all depends on what the Yu decides to do. He can safely bait everyone's DP's (outside of his own and Akihiko's, who are air unblockable) simply by jumping forward and blocking. If he confirms that you are in fact blocking Izanagi, he can then -do j.A or j.B, which both hit high -empty jump 2A, which hits low -empty jump A+B, which hits high -air dash and do any of the following for added confusion And all the while force you to block thanks to the 5D follow up. 5D is also good for ticking throws, once he knows you're respecting, and he can combo off throws in the corner. Should he choose to stay on the ground, he can use Raging Lion A or B, which both hit high, as well as command dodge through you to bait DPs, thanks to the invul on dodges, and this will cross you up, sandwiching you between him and Izanagi. Really, your best bet to beat it is to tech and block the incoming mix-up. Since ALL of Yu's persona normals hit mid (even j.C and j.D), just watch Yu and his animations, and don't worry about the persona itself. That'll make it easier to block the mix-up. Yu's pressure is pretty average, and if he doesn't use meter, will more likely than not end in him putting himself back in a neutral position in order to remain safe, should you not get hit. Yu has no real safe way of resetting pressure without the use of meter. So if you block everything, you get out and back at neutral, where Labrys is strong too. You could always record the training dummy to perform all of these (thanks be praised for multiple recording slots) to practice blocking his options. And like Toan said, you can always just block either him or Izanagi and Guard Cancel Attack to blow him away. Keep in mind that uses 50 meter, and he can bait it just like he baits DPs too. And that's not a fun punish to eat. It's hard to deal with, but just learn to read your opponent and his habits, as well as practice against his options in training mode and you'll have a better chance. Hope this helps. tl;dr Yu can do whatever he wants off this, learn2block
  19. Aren't most DP's like that though? Really only comboable with super cancel or something? Not saying you're wrong or anything, Yosuke really can't risk a whole lot since he's kinda fragile, but a DP is meant more than anything to just turn the tide of battle. If that gives you knockdown/puts you in a favorable position, then it's doing it's job.
  20. We should all just mash dodge more, obviously.
  21. 2A low profiles 5A too. Also, interesting thing happened to me during my matches today against a Chie. whenever I did the 5D oki, I found a lot of times, if I immediately did sword dive A, and she had chosen to do her R-Action (and it counter Izanagi), I could land, recover, and block before her move went active. Anyone wanna test this for me and see if it's legit? Because it's basically a free safe jump/overhead set-up if it turns out to be legit.
  22. I will. PM me your e-mail address.
  23. Just as a note to everyone, casuals will start around 3 PM.
