That's some really poor wording, since it implies he was a mindless drone before he rebelled, though I guess you could interpret 'will' as independence if you really want to. Story Mode and Arcade Mode make it exceedingly clear though that his true form could be controlled by Amaterasu but that he always was a sentient being with a personality/soul/whatever--that personality just wasn't always the dickhead deity we saw him as. This idea of him being a product of the Unit and not vice-versa is silly.
-
Just ignore all of Toxin's posts. When he's not shitposting he's going "DUDE STOP DUDE DUDE DUUUUUDE" or whatever. It's not worth wrestling a pig in the mud. ^^^This. Terumi separated himself from the Susano'o Unit and left it around, which is why it could be excavated. Terumi actually is the namesake for the Unit and is the actual Japanese deity, not the other way around. Susano'o always had a will, but for the longest time it was under Amaterasu's control--he didn't just suddenly gain one.

END GAZER really does feel out of place as Hell, yeah. They should've remixed it, or at least made it instrumental. And yeah, YOMOTSUHIRASAKA doesn't make for a good boss theme in itself, but it'd be a better one than WORLD END. Honestly, WORLD END in general feels really weird as far as Izanami goes--it should've been a VS theme or something instead of being tacked onto her.
-
She doesn't even remember what her reason for living 'was' anymore given the ending. Furthermore Raven got out of his 'life is Hell' loop anyways, so Nu definitely can since she's in a much more favorable situation.

None of this is bad. The "hive of scum and villainy" line fits in decently enough without being a really obvious "GEEEEET IT?!" type reference. It doesn't hurt anything, it falls in line with the way Jubei talks, and honestly I didn't even know it was a reference until you pointed it out. The game does not once try to turn Hazama or Terumi into an internet troll; that's internet fans running away with somebody saying that because they're characters who focus on pissing off others for story reasons (and just being dicks.) And I'm glad things like Tsubaki saying "Jin nii-sama" (which feels super out of character for her anyways; there are better ways for her to express her fascination with Jin that don't sound so clashing) weren't present in the text. Honestly it just sounds like the only reason you're upset is they didn't do a 100% direct translation, which is almost always a horrible decision anyways. But knowing you you'll just hate on anything that deviates ever-so-slightly from what Glorious Nippon gets. I never understood this mindset of "any change from what Japan does is bad." Also on the topic of Central Fiction, the lack of English voices are really making Story Mode so much more of a slog this time around. Not worth waiting for the characters to finish their voice clips, the voices are very meh (except for Nine and Izanami so far), and half of the characters feel like they lost their personality with the emotionless voice-acting that goes with it. Between this and how Arcsys screwed up the English release like XRD all over again, I'm done supporting them until they get their heads out of their asses in regards to the western audience.

CSE through CF are clearly the height of localization, and anybody who prefers CT and CS is a fool. Clearly.

While THE WORLD END and YOMOTSUHIRASAKA definitely should've switched places as her normal and unlimited themes, YOMOTSUHIRASAKA is more fitting of her in the long run. It resembles a certain Japanese folk song in its arrangement (I cannot for the life of me remember the song's name) and overall feels even more 'Shinto' than THE WORLD END, which has maybe one or two Japanese instruments in the beginning before becoming Awakening the Chaos Lite. I'm glad YOMOTSUHIRASAKA is the normal theme instead though so I'll get to hear it often instead of it being one of the best songs on the OST that you never get to hear like Endless Despair. Or like Endless Despair II, which was a better theme for Terumi than that Silent Scream shit they replaced it with.

While this is true, Tenjo's silhouette was decidedly masculine when shown prior to this random decisions. Also, there was little to no evidence pointing to Tenjou being female before. Not that it drastically alters the storyline, but you could bet the way they spoke about them would be pretty different if Tenjou was female from the start.
-
He probably doesn't call Tenjo that because Tenjo suddenly being a woman was never a thing until they randomly decided it for the new novel because 'we need more boobs in the cast.'

Basically this. Having the dub there from the start is why it's a big deal to suddenly remove it, and the fact that GG only had a dub for two games (one of which you can't truly count as a main series title despite not actually being all too bad) made that pill easier to swallow. It's a bit of a dick move on Arcsys's part to remove the dub for the English releases at the very end of at least Ragna's story. I can understand their reasoning for it though, shitty as it may be. And as I've said, at the end of the day this still a fun fighting game to me more than anything. But yeah, I'm with you on Arcsys not seeing a cent from my wallet after this one. I never understood the notion that simply pointing out when somebody is being an asshole for no reason makes the one who pointed it out 'bothered.' It feels like a backpedaling notion more than anything. Nor have I seen Vulcan make any shitposts in recent times at least. I'm rather puzzled by this response.

Shitpost of the year. Also parroting an unfunny meme like every other brainless moron on the internet makes whatever point you were trying to make lost.

To be fair I don't think you can really count the spin-offs/side titles. There's a bit of a difference between a full console game and a throwaway spinoff title as far as dubbing goes, especially when the console games have had a constant dub present and the spinoffs have not. It's like a totally different category, and people are definitely more willing to accept no dub in the spinoffs than a main series one, as seen with this whole fiasco.
-
While your candor and dedication to the dub is impressive, and I completely agree that the dub is a huge feature and the series is not the same without it, this is nonetheless a finale for everything and contains characters I've been wanting to play as since at least Continuum Shift among others. At the end of the day it's a damn good fighting game that I play with my friends and I'm not waiting any longer then I already have for a feature that might not get existed. And I'm still more certain that buying the game to ensure it even comes out over here while simultaneously contacting them repeatedly about the dub is the best bet.

This speculation about "Justice" and everything is dumb and you should all stop it unless you want to move it to the Speculation thread. Also, what's this about Relius and Carl having won or whatever? Relius fucked right off for the rest of the story, and Carl just kinda got all mopey and looked around ruins, with his sister still stuck in a doll (unless I missed the part where that wasn't a thing.) I wouldn't call somebody having an ambiguous fate and another one not having gotten what he was aiming for this entire time winning. Also the idea that Carl literally becomes Relius is dumb.

I'm getting the LE myself because one guy on the opposite side of the world from their target consumer-base not buying it will send the message about as strongly as a smoke signal in a tornado. I think Arcus Diabolus has the right idea about how supporting it even without the dub is probably the best and safest method for getting it in the long run, and in the long run this is still a damn good fighting game series I like--I'll pay to keep getting entries without having to import, even if I do have to deal with Kanako Kondo's insufferable voice. I'm pretty sure myself and other people who contacted Arcsys or Aksys to express their discontent with the lack of a dub does a far better job of telling them we're not happy about it then the game not selling for what could be any number of reasons. Hell, I'd do what Vulcan might do and get the digital version for the demo if I didn't have to play this on PS3 due to funds preventing a PS4 purchase. Also, why the Hell is the demo only available to those who get preorders? Aren't demos supposed to be like a trial thing for consumers to give the thing a shot to see if they'll like it and possibly buy it, thus making it attached to preordering it fairly useless? Remember when demos were friggin free? Pepperidge Farm remembers. But I'm ranting.

Be careful searching for the cutscenes on Youtube, by the way. Tried it myself and got weird slow-mo porn. In hindsight it's probably karma for being an ass. But yeah.

Where did you get this information?

Now that all (minus Mai) character and VS themes are out, it's nice to get a full picture of the OST. It's 99% flawless, the only stain on it being Jaeger. MUST DIE would be so much better without vocals. Here's hoping for an instrumental version (not that the song is bad because of the vocals)
-
Don't bring it up at all. This isn't the place for that, nor is that confirmation of anything regardless.
-
Don't post shit like this without linking to something confirming it.

Ahh, the age old technique of putting words in my mouth. I rather like the part where you said I know better than the creators about voices fitting character roles and stuff. That's fun. Can I say that you said that because you dislike Jamieson Price or Cristina Vee, you're admitting to having unrequited love for several members of the Japanese voice cast and it compels you to make things up about anybody who dislikes them and pass it off as fact as well? Speaking of Price by the way, I could care less if his roles sounds the same. He does a damn good job at what he does, and I actually like knowing it's him right away because it's fun hearing voice actors I like and am familiar with in projects. It's all purely opinion; it's fine to disagree, but cool your jets on it, yo. And just because somebody isn't involved with the game's creation doesn't mean that, over a course of three games and their expansions over the course of seven years along with various other forms of media involving them, an individual cannot become familiar with a character's personality and what they're generally supposed to be or sound like, and recognize a dissonant voice...which, unsurprisingly, is most of the Japanese cast. I mean, have you actually listened to Amane's JP voice? Horrible stuff, and totally at odds with his character. It's called 'feedback' and 'criticism' and...well, you know, something that people have been doing for years, for various things involving voicework, and all sorts of other media entertainment? Oh, and the above also all has a large subjective element to it, so really I don't see why if you disagree you don't just shrug and move on. Or perhaps because I didn't add 'I think' to every obviously personal opinion, you were misguided enough to think I was passing off my thoughts as solid, hardcore facts? And before you go "BUT YOU'RE ARGUING WITH ME ABOUT MY OPINION" I'm only doing so because your post was so full of assumptions that it gave me a chuckle, which I believe warrants a response. The point I'm getting at here is you're fine to disagree with my thoughts on the JP voice cast or whatever, but you really need to not set it up as if I'm trying to say I know shit better than the creators or whatever you got yourself believing I was doing just because I didn't like a voice cast.

If you have to preface something with "don't want to sound like a douche" then chances are you're going to sound like a douche. And boy do you sound like one. You really need to work on your wording and delivery if you want to sound even remotely sympathetic to people affected by this. And let's get that inevitable jibe from somebody or another out of the way that no, I'm not bitter about you being able to understand Japanese or whatever--it's my second language, so I can understand the shit either way. I am pissed, however, that the company is removing something that's been there from the start at the climax of this story at least, and that now it'll lose a lot of the impact and won't be as enjoyable due to completely different voices. Inferior ones, too. The JP cast just sucks. Beyond Sugita at most, none of them could act their way out of a paper bag with their emotionless delivery that's devoid of personality, with half the voices not even fitting the role. So yeah, I'm pissed that ArcSys willingly downgraded the quality just to save money and has the convenient excuse of "WE'RE GETTING IT OUT EARLY TO THE FANS!!!11!!!1" to fall back on.

When was the last time a BB game came out over here when there was an updated/re-released version overseas at the time of the NA release? Even in the event of dub removal and closer release, there's still a window where we're stuck without it anyways. BB's dead online scene is because it's an anime game and a fighting game that isn't Street Fighter or Mahvel in America. That's why that twitter post is so laughable, especially given that the dub didn't hinder CT and CS's release at all. That being said, I'm also curious what it is that suddenly made ArcSys have such huge delays between versions if a dub is involved. Whether it's Strangely Compelling just being bad at what they do or something else, we had at least two releases where the JP and NA versions came out even closer together than this one is without the dub, and both were even higher quality than CSEX localizations onwards, which had much longer releases. I'd bet my hat that if they had Aksys still in charge this would be a non-issue, but that's getting into speculatory territory and I'd rather not light that fire again.

I never even understood why people say the Japanese cast delivers lines better or that the English cast doesn't have emotion or the like. Kanako Kondo sounds so wooden and devoid of personality half the time, and most of the voices don't even seem to fit the characters in question. The English dub for this series is something that other games should strive for, save for occasions where Strangely Compelling made other randomly swapped out VAs at parts (Spike Spencer as Terumi in those one CSEX arcade mode bits is hilariously jarring.) That being said, it's a bit silly to be mad over a lack of a dub now. It should've been obvious it wasn't happening the moment they announced the tentative release windows and how close they were to eachother. I'm certainly upset about it, but it should've been easy to see coming. And I'll probably still be buying the game anyways because even though having to deal with completely different voices than what we've had for the past seven years sucks and the Japanese cast is underwhelming, it's still a damn good fighting game. EDIT: Holy shit are you kidding me with that twitter exchange there? I wasn't aware having a game come out later while still being the most current iteration of the game made it 'outdated.' Aksys should know better than to even give those people the time of day.

Mods shouldn't spout incorrect things just because their little packet of Michigan has less activity.
