  1. Legitimate point. In some mirror matches, you have to save IBs for when you need them.
  2. I would venture to say it's a 6.5/3.5 but then we're arguing semantics. Needless to say, it's blows.
  3. Where's St1ckBuG when you need him? This seems right up his alley.
  4. So, BlazBlue is going to be a main game and will be the hypest major on the lineup this year? Wait, it's going to have a wonderful venue for participants on the sunny coast of Florida, where niggas can go to Disneyland...DISNEYLAND (optional)?! HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE!
  5. Yeah, Adonis' Valk is one of the best. Beats me a good amount regardless of my current state of mind. Usually lose because my punish game is awful and I get bored just blocking all damn day. I feel sorry for Relius, really do. Block low, watch out for 6A, jump animation, throw, and 50 meter for the j.C RC. If you're playing Hakumen, it's even worse off for Relius (ignores unblockable set-ups and cross-ups with D). Overall, the fact that he loses so much steam on his somewhat already somewhat decent offense when you have to send Ignis off (with the credit card to get her nails done razor-sharp at the local Vietnamese nail salon) feels like complete bullshit. And like people have already said, the nice cross-ups they may still work won't lead to any significant damage and you're immediately on defense again while the doll recharges. Just .
  6. ...I'm curious to know what it is. Somewhat terrified, but still very curious.
  7. Super De La Hyped about this. Going but waiting on Financial Aid money to drop before registering.
  8. Deal with it.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4J5wTCH1Kug I like the mash-up to the music (that Mighty Switch Force OST is godlike) but I'll leave this here. :3 Also, what you'll want to aim for with your blockstrings is to keep them rather tight and unpredictable. It's good to try to end most blockstrings with a relatively safe move as well. What you want to aim for is ways to test and eventually break your opponent's guard or keep pressure as safely as possible. You can do this with high/low mix-ups, tick throws, Guard Primer breaking, and cross-ups. Sometimes, the best thing to do is rapid-fire Noel's 5A as it will hit crouching opponents to see if they are blocking high or low then do the opposite.
  10. Here's a list of some tournaments, dates, addresses, and links to for more information or registration: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12844-GVN-Winter-Brawl-6-Frozen-Battlegrounds-Feb-18th-and-19th-(Philadelphia-Pa)&p=1212714&viewfull=1#post1212714 Winter Brawl 6 February 18-19, 2012 Sheraton Suites Hotel 4101A Island Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19153 http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11286-FINAL-ROUND-XV-March-2-4-2012-quot-The-15th-Aniversary-quot&p=978277&viewfull=1#post978277 Final Round XV March 2-4, 2012 Westin Atlanta Perimeter North 7 Concourse Parkway Atlanta, Georgia 30328 http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?13066-PowerUp-2012-EVO-2012-Tournament-Season&p=1233589&viewfull=1#post1233589 PowerUp 2012 April 13-15, 2012 Arcade Legacy 600 Cincinnati Mills Drive Cincinnati, Ohio 45240 http://northwestmajors.com/ Northwest Majors May 26th, 2012 Seattle, WA Venue: TBA (I believe) http://ecthrowdown.com/ East Coast Throwdown June 9-10, 2012 Hyatt Morristown 3 Speedwell Avenue Morristown, NJ 07960 http://ceogaming.org/ CEO 2012 June 15-17, 2012 The Wyndham Orlando Resort 8001 International Drive Orlando, Florida 32819 http://evo2k.com/ EVO 2012 July 6-8, 2012 Caesar's Palace 3570 Las Vegas Blvd South Las Vegas, NV 89109 There are many others but information may not be able at the moment or Google is hiding tournament sites from me. Anyway, go get your research and possible registration on!
  11. We could always start by focusing on getting those on the fence about going to tournaments and boosting their confidence overall. Getting these bunch of people over the hill and into serious tournament play would help build on a lack of players in that area. And instead of appealing to EVO by going there or engineering some sort of separate major for "anime" games, why not go to show up in force at the other majors that will host BB? I think supporting those other Tournament Organizers who volunteer set-ups and space for the game already should be rewarded for such charity. Why pander to the "grand tournament" that EVO claims to be when they've thought clearly about money? I can't blame them to a fault and I hope they do well for the games they hold. However, we should instead support one of the existing majors that need motherfuckers to show up. If EVO wants to add BB next year, fuck them. we'll be working on helping the TOs that will treat games like ours and future FG titles fairly. It won't probably happen with in the lifespan of BB, but I would rather encourage the crown of big tournaments be passed on and foster the development of one of our existing FG majors. Yes, money is always a priority but I would see my money and effort go to some hype ass EC major that's cool with the games I play as long as there's a large amount of tournament goers that will attend.
  12. Don't have definite time but we usually start around 2 or 3. Adonis lives within a short mile of the other two people (Romey and Brian) who host as well so you won't have to go far out of your way if we have casuals at another person's place. And yes, please do bring your copy as we usually have a second set-up for other things. It's an term of endearment. ♥
  13. You're right, it's pretty ass of me to assume that you have been trying to better your game in some fashion. It's wrong for me to belittle any desire to step your game up. Last part: "Figure out which one you can go to and we'll give you directions." Seemed like you weren't being active on your end by telling people when/if you're coming. Adonis gave you his address so it's all jelly, I just hate giving people's addresses and such away without their consent or knowledge. Say I, a Hakumen player. IIRC CS2 just ended recently and Hakumen was low tier (arguably, still kinda doubt that) and Jin was pretty high up there. But most times, that shit didn't matter as I still won games because skill trumps most things in this game. Fine, prove me wrong. I would love to see that I wasn't correct and have been a total ass when I shouldn't have. Hell, I'll apologize in person and on here for the shit that I've said if you come to casuals. I have no issue and will help 100% to assist people in bettering their game if I can. I'm fine with people telling me "fuck you" and hating me as long as it may ignite some fire in their gut to get better at the game. Fine, I'll let actions speak louder than words and get this shit on the road. See you at Winterfest, dork. Roger, Osprey 1, coming in for a landing and cooling off.
  14. You're right, I do have eyes for everyone. :3 Well, you know what to do then. Look, it's not that I don't think some nerfs or changes to his game aren't going to be a bit hard to adjust to. I just have a problem with constant posts on this thread and the Facebook group about them without just bucking up and working through the changes. I mean, think of the Tsubaki players who got metaphorically shit on and how positive and steadfast they've been. Realize how much you still have with Jin and that he's still very viable. If you're moving across the country, the last thing you should be worried about is video games. So I totally understand if you need to skip tournaments to save for the trip (trust me, moved pretty suddenly into my own house and got back into college on my own accord, it's still hard after 6 months.). However, get out to casuals and you'll get prepared for any tournament you may have money/time to enter in Florida or wherever. Don't let the fear of failure ruin your chance at succeeding someday. They aren't opinions, they're statements of fact repeated ad nauseum. We've all experienced ups and downs with our characters when different versions come and go. The time you spend over-exaggerating how bad you have it is annoying and to some players of lower-tier characters, insulting. Red Spark: Just moved into new place next to campus a month before, used most of the last bit of cash for that, needed weekend to study for exam. College/Food vs. Games; think I made the proper choice. Storm Underground 4: My mom (who has three herniated discs in the lumbar section of her spine) asked me the Tuesday before the tournament for help to move their office furniture and supplies (they couldn't pay so they had to move out). If I didn't stay here, it would be just her and my step-dad to do all of it. Basically on-call the entire weekend, was never needed as they got people, and had the money. Pissed I missed the tournament in hindsight but I wanted to stay for them. I have gone to tournaments before, I tell people to go because tournaments are something they should experience first-hand. They're a blast and I've always enjoyed myself. And it's not the fact that he may be able to make it to a tournament or not, it's the dramaticism that Jyosua has when he might have to put forth effort. But then again, you probably don't understand how truly petty that seems, right King Shit of Fuck Mountain? When you have to take more than a straight shot down I-95 to travel to tournaments or aren't truly dependent on other people to pay for living expenses, you let me know.
  15. Resent what? I don't see what you're talking about.
  16. Then play CS2 until they change it back (if they do). Just like people still will only play CT. The timing on some combos and corner DP Loop were adjusted because they were much easier than they should be. Again, you have the choice to play Jin and deal, change your main, or just stick to ezmodo CS2 Jin. Unless stated otherwise on here, we usually always have weeklies on Saturdays. Just ask in advance. ♥ You have had advance notice of this and other tournaments, save up your money if you really want to go. We all have to spend money in some fashion to go to these tournaments, some spend more every week by hosting said weeklies without ever asking for anything in return or bitching about it. No one enjoys paying for stuff. We do it to enjoy ourselves, hang out with wonderful people and have fun getting good at any FG that we can get our dirty little hands on. Stop complaining.
  17. Why is that fact surprising and why would having BB as a main event be a bad thing?
  18. Honestly, can't blame him sometimes.
  19. CEO, do it. Do it.
  20. Y'all fucking silly, GGs.
  21. You can get Enma and Gurren off of CH AA 6A as well, which is sooooo good.
  22. You're may be hitting them too early/high with the j.A or delayed cancelling into j.B too soon. Give your opponent time to fall lower and you should be hitting them with j.B very close to the ground. The height's very similar to the situations in which you use falling j.B from an air throw when you're too low for a j.2C. EDIT: I could always hop on XBL and show you?
  23. If you're talking about after a Renka wallbounce, you have to delay the IAD a bit and time the j.A early. That usually works for me.
