The Newer Florida Thread: Bomb Shelters Required.
-
Yes, you're able to connect with 2B after a 3C CH, even at the tip. You may need to give the opponent time to fall forward on the ground after the 3C so you can hit their hurtbox. However, you don't have time to do hop 2B before they can tech.
-
Keep your blockstrings random and try to bait counters, you'll do quite fine. I understand there are a lot of holes in her pressure where I can just use 6D/2D, but the Tsubaki player should try to mix it up. However, Hakumen does have a way out of all of your set-ups and your true unblockable move now in EX. Just something to keep in mind but this is information that not even the other Hakumen players know. I'll write up something professional soon as they're behind. XD Except Tsubaki players have to get in their opponent's head to even stand a good chance. This match-up isn't silly bad, but it's definitely not in your favor. But, the info they said is correct. Haku has other tools though, which concerns me when it comes to the match-up. Kishuu, 6D/2D, Hotaru, agh.
-
Kishuu to make a move whiff. It is definitely worth the risk of me mistiming the command dash and getting hit if I can get a 3C/5C CH. I suggest Kishuu as well as it'll go through the 22D unblockable as well, which can't be parried.
-
I'll go more into detail once I play some local matches with PK before I can confirm this. However, I'm fairly certain Haku's new Kishuu can go right through 22x as it's Head/Body/Projectile invincible now from 5-14F. That would also mean it would go through most of Tsu-Tsu's specials as well but that needs to be tested. There's a few other things I want to want to try out before I do the write-up, but I wanted to throw that out there.
-
Glad that's still true or Hakumen would lose everything that makes him who he is.
-
If you have absolutely no meter when you block a grounded Green Burst, I would just be happy with putting them back into a blockstring like 2B > 2A > (5A) > 5B. Keeps them locked down, you gain meter while they're blocking/getting hit, and they're still in the predicament they just tried to burst out of. You may not do any damage, but you make them burn resources and potentially put them in a bigger bind later on.
-
Yep, you did. Good call.
-
That's extremely risky if you don't time it right as Hotaru may not connect, protect you, or come out at all (because of the cross-up).
-
If you have enough time, meet him in the air before he crosses you up and go for a throw or j.A. If you don't, 5D does work if you know they are going to go for the cross-up. If you have enough space and it will not cause you to be sandwiched in between Carl and Nirvana, you can use Kishuu to evade the attack as well. I prefer good old blocking as the 6D/5D thing is a bit risky there unless I have seen the Carl player use j.2C way too much.

Congrats to Green_Mario (Kyle F.) for getting top 8 and to Romey for placing 9th. MFW when I heard the news: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz1lxBXNf58 CEO is going to get its' ass torn in.

You make a great point...AWWWRIGHT <3.

Pssh, it's all about DAT OVALTINE!
-
I don't expect a total facelift considering a majority of matchups, but there are some different things that need to be noted. We'll build up on the future matchup threads when more people start playing again if they waited for the American release. It's all good.
-
I figure that if I don't have enough time to hop 2C, I use 6A instead.
-
I test stuff very thoroughly before I post. Also, I've been busy with doing tournament stuff. When I'm not being exposed on a top4 stream when drunk, I actually did some hype stuff off the camera to win a few mirrors and beat the best Arakune in the state. Seriously though, what other stuff should I post about? I didn't know Shippu hadn't been explored that much. It beats out random things like Relius' Val Lyra (214B, where he summons Ignis behind you) and sometimes the second hit of Straight-Through when you block the first hit far enough away.
-
The new and improved versions of them are so good, it hurts. Raw Shippu is insane when used to counter slow start-ups and short-reaching moves. Kishuu is great for advancing and totally disrespecting things like Litchi's DP clean. Lastly, Shippu > Renka (1) > Kishuu > 6C > 6A > Corner Loop is great for punishing blocked DP attempt out of the corner and does insane damage. The easy non-superjump version does 7k.

In addition to my edit to my last post, I think someone has to put the first foot forward. To show how contributions should and can be added to the match-up threads.
-
It's a community effort, of course, just good to be able to assign or designate people who can contribute to a good amount to a page or two (or five ). I invented the incantation, I know what to do to get your attention for help. EDIT: And you all deserve credit for being on the initiative with getting the Hakumen threads up to par. It's nice to see. Just been a bit busy with new things in life and working to promote the scene in the area and other offline things. Thanks for wondering.

Insomnia. It's a good idea to have backup, that's true. Have a semi-constant presence on the forum. I think that we will all be able to fill in holes. I know Montreal has a good amount of people to get EXP from. I don't have a ton of great players that all sorts of characters in my area, but the matchups I'll be doing are from solid sources. And I'll probably be helping mAc as backup on the mirror match as I have a lot of EXP with the Haku players here in Florida.
-
You need to go to sleep, I see. And sure, I have Relius, Valk, Litchi, Tsubaki, and possibly Noel for now.
-
Spark's got it handled, I think. We're all pretty rational and organized people anyway, there isn't much need for a lot of moderation. He surfs the boards frequently enough. And modship shouldn't be a reward. If people are only pandering for the position, it's not the ones that will last or be quite good in the long run. I'm just happy there are players to teach and room to always improve. EDIT: I appreciate the nod, though. Thanks!

It's best not to mix matchup talk for different versions of the game as there are many changes to the cast in between games. Matchups can alter quite drastically and it's best to keep info separate.
-
I'm already almost finished writing up things for some matchups but we need new threads for Extend and the others to be archived.

It's this weekend, BB will be on at 5 tomorrow the last time I heard anything.
