Overdrives/second moves to some FBs(like Ky/Sol) are generally lack luster damage options, but you forget to mention they make your combo unburstable. Nothing is worse than getting bursted out of a game wining combo. Arguably, you can try to make them waste their burst and kill them any way, but if you hit some one at low health in a way that lets you connect a super to kill them, why not do it? Not like you get to use that meter next round any way. As for hos vs Test, it's not really that bad. The only problem I have against good testaments is Hos has a hard time dealing with his f.s. He can't anti air you well, and once you're in on him he takes it like a girl, you just have to play to your strengths and not let your self get too anxious to go in on him in dangerous situations.

When I go to Japan in January, since its probably the last time I'm going on a visitor's visa and I'll finally be done wit school, I'm planning on staying for as long as I can. As you can imagine, that will require a pretty sizable nest egg to accomplish, so I'm trying to be some what frugal with my pay for now. I guess I'll just see how things develop.

Is frosty faustings going down this year? I'm trying to decide if I want to go to seasons beatings(and actually start practicing up my shit some more), and I don't think I could go to both. Rod, come out to a tournament and beat my rusty ass. I haven't really played gear since June 09 :/

Sorry to necro this discussion of reaction times and frame data, but one aspect of the argument that some how went untouched was the fact that regardless of an overhead having "x" start-up time, you usually do not recognize the ambiguous early frames, so for example the jumping frames are kind of a non-issue since you wont realise she jumped until shes already in the air. The other aspect is that these kind of mixups can often be fuzzy guarded(japanese terminology), meaning that you can used canned blocking patterns to beat the results. For example even if Nu cancels the overhead, you can block high until the point that she could low/throw and then defend properly from that point. This works against a lot of mixups, but if characters have multiple options that fork into more options(like millia or i-no for example) these strategies wont work.

Alpha station is inbetween the Okubo stations(shin okubo and regular okubo) if memory serves. It might be more towards current, but I'm not sure. If you walk that street though you should find it.

Maybe it's just me reading too much into it, but it feels like you're getting more and more frustrated as you get closer to the last quals, and that feeling really culminated in the last blog. You have a lot of things to frustrate you, not all gaming related(like the ulcer), but I wouldn't let anything get you down if I were you. This year you've had a self renaissance in the JP GG community. You've gotten closer to qualifying than ever before(not over yet!), and you've garnered a lot of positive PR from all of your high profile tournament play. Even if you don't manage to make it this year, just keep on trucking, and keep making friends. People seeing you angry and frustrated isn't going to make them want to team with you :/ Any way, I was just getting a bummer vibe from the last blog(and bits of the last couple), so I thought I'd throw in my 2c about shit. Dude, Karun is a walking gimmick. I can't recall off the top of my head if he's ever even been to SBO yet, so I wouldn't let something you heard out of context get to you like that. He might not even have known it was you specifically. Either way, his bad for putting down a fellow gg player. I just don't want to see nerves get to you like they did at Evo and have you beating your self up over that. We talked a little bit about this before, and even if Karun really is a douche, Isa being friends with him doesn't flat out mean he shares Karun's opinion of you, so don't put thoughts in his head. Don't downplay that victory, beating FAB any time is beast. Of all the try-hards in GG that guy is the try-hardest. Can't wait to play your hawk/blanka. Hawk seems really solid. The dive is almost worse than blanka ball on block, actually it probably is, and as for his normals he doesn't have really anything like Giefs vortex capabilities, but condor spire is beast. Blankas new ultra is boss -.-

You should also probably look into some youth hostels. I've had friends stay at them before, and they are dirt cheap, but I don't know anything about them, and if they are common in tokyo at all. Btw Mike, totally maining Ibuki in Super. And of course Blanka and his specialness fucks her vortex up too. Curse you, you green freak!
