Okay, now I'm having trouble connecting. I'm currently using wireless. If someone challenges me, I can get no further than the black screen after character selection, and if I challenge someone, I can't even pass the black screen before the character selection screen. Anyone know what the problem is? PS: I know very little about computers

Oh, you're talking about the ping over nonsense. I don't think there is a fix for that. All I can say is try to connect to them as soon as their status goes back to Idle. If that doesn't work, then I guess it's just one of those things... but it should only be saying "ping over" with players with high ping.

Which patch are you using? Sounds like you're using one of the old patches. Everyone uses 1.12-3 now.

Welcome. With the patch issue, use v112 and extract that to your Guilty Gear directory. Then replace the v112 dll with the dll of v112-3, and it should work for you. I tried that Fierce Gear thing sometime, but I couldn't get it to work. As far as I know, that has never worked. As for the port fowarding thing and the sound problems, I have no idea.

I don't even have a clue what an irc is or how to join the irc chatroom. I just thought... is that why everyone is "No Response" for hours - they're all in the irc room and have ggxx minimized?

I think something is up with the new patch. Sometimes, I go in the lobby and there might be a couple of people that are "Busy" but for the most part, everyone else is "No Response" and they stay "No Response" for hours. It even shows "No Respone" for people who have the 1.12 or 1.12-2, and I use 1.12-2 as well. I also see something strange that has never occurred in previous patches. I'd be sittin' in the lobby, and then a chunk of names just disappear from the list all at the same time. Then when I exit and re-enter the lobby, the names come back.

I've lost like over 300 games to the likes of everyone, and I'm still rank "?" I thought it would've went back to rank E by now.

About the ranks going down: If you've started off v1.10 with a high rank, I think the game gets confused because you obtained that rank prior to 1.10, but the win streak is not carried over to 1.10 (probably due to the difference of format or something). It's thinking that you are starting out from the lowest rank, despite the fact that the display shows otherwise. Based on this, I assume that for the higher ranked players, the rank will first go down upon victories, and then it will gradually go back up as you play and win more matches. Or something like that . Maybe someone can make sense out of that. I haven't verified this because it's showing a question mark for my rank for some reason.

Anyone got some replays against good (or decent) Venom players that they don't mind uploading?

Here's a stupid question: How is it possible to have 50% tension at the beginning of the round? I still can't figure it out.

You play a superb Venom. I always have trouble dealing with those random VVs and GVs (I have no experiance with human players), but your matches showed that you handled them well. I will further study your matches, and maybe...just maybe... I'll become less of a scrub. Nice matches.

I'm guessing it's based on your highest win streak, so when under the wins column, that's just like a win streak tally, instead of a win/loss record. I guess you move up in ranks by getting a higher win streak, but I'm not sure though. I've lost to quite a few high-ranks, like Spicy J, who plays a beastly Potemkin. Pretty much everyone can beat me though, because I suck.

Yep, it's up. I played a few matches with Shinken... we were the only two in the Delay4 lobby. GGs btw.

Okay... I've tried the delay2 lobby, which has about 30 people in it, and I still can't see anyone.

I'm having problems with the new patch. With the 1.04 patch, I was able to see other players in the lobby, but I couldn't connect to them because my patch was too old. Now, I've updated to 1.09 and then to 1.09-2. When I go to Vs Net, I don't see one person, even though I'm using the Delay4 lobby. The lobby count was 18, yet I didn't see one person in the lobby. I'm lost!

Do you have any Venom matches? I'm having a hard time finding some.
