  1. I heard there was some BB going on in Webb like a week or two ago. Were you involved? I wanted to roll in there to check things out, but had something to do.
  2. Yeah, I attend ODU, and I live like one street over from the center of campus. I'm guessing you go to ODU as well?
  3. I'm not sure exactly because I've never been there, but my guess would be that's about 2.3-2.5 hours away, since it takes about 1.5 to get to Richmond from here.
  4. Well, there's a guy who I game with every week who's going to be hosting at his place tomorrow night (Thursday). He's a Tekken player, so he's primarily going to have T6 going, but we could play some BB going as well on his HDTV (since they won't be using it at all) if you'd like. I'm not sure how your schedule is, but I thought I'd extend the invite. Let me know if you're interested, and I can give you more details.
  5. Yeah man, that would be cool. I wouldn't mind a good training session, especially since I need to train up for Final Round in a little over two weeks. I haven't touched GGAC in a while, so I have to at least get my Venom back up to speed.
  6. There are quite a bit of players here in SOVA, it's just that most of them play Capcom fighters, and the rest of them are Tekken players. But there are about 4 or 5 of us who play GG. I most regularly play with Kam, who comes to my place to game usually once a week at least. We also play at Blackula's place, a local guy who hosts every Saturday at his apartment. He also runs ranbats (for SFIV and T6) every two weeks or so. He used to run BB ranbats as well, back when the game first hit consoles, but very few people here were even remotely interested in it, so he dropped it shortly afterwards. Sly: hmmm, you're quite a bit of distance from us. I think there are a few folks in Richmond who play, which isn't too far from you. Then there's some western VA players down there in the Blacksburg area.
  7. Wow, rare footage of someone who plays in SoVA. I had intended to make a thread months ago, but I didn't bother. Do you know anyone else who plays here? I pretty much play anything under the sun, but what I mainly play are GG, BB, MBAA, as well as T6 and SFIV. I have AH, but never really played it much before, since I've been busy with my main games.
  8. Here you go: http://d.hatena.ne.jp/video/niconico/sm8242265
  9. From the mirror match thread: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm8242265 The video shows the Haida on Noel after a low air throw. In order to get 4 reps, after the first 22c, you have to do another immediately.
  10. Yeah, that storm was rough. I was out of power for 21 hours, but at least there wasn't really any flooding out here near ODU. The fighting game scene is actually more solid than you think. It's just that it's more into Street Fighter and Tekken than anything else, so most people from our area either post on shoryuken.com, while the tekken heads post on tekkenzaibatsu.com. And then there are a few of us GG/BB/MB players who just post on shoryuken.com or not at all, because there's so few of us. But I'm going to make a SoVA thread here on dustloop in the Match Finder section, so hopefully some hidden locals will pop up and post there.

  11. The link works just fine for me. I'm guessing you're just getting a blank video, because nico does that for me sometimes too. Just try reloading the page, and if that doesn't work, try the link in a different web browser.
  12. Ouch. Yeah, let me know when you get your ps3 back, and I'll add you. Haven't played GG in a long time, and the same goes for BB, because no one else around here plays. I'm not too sad about BB and #R, because I can play those online, but AC is a different story.

  13. Hey, I saw one of your posts in a thread, and I noticed you were from Norfolk as well. I thought I was the only GG/BB player around here. Good stuff!

  14. I'd like to get in on this, if it's still going on.
  15. wow, long time no see, man

  16. Haha, I didn't even notice that. I fail.

  17. Hey, I didn't know you posted here on DL. I think I've played you online a couple times in the past, because your name looks awfully familiar. We should get some psn Carl training going sometime.
  18. Yeah, it only works against players because fuzzy guard setups are mixups, and the CPU can't be mixed up since it reads inputs.
  19. unfortunately, it got bumped back down to the second page by the more active threads.

  20. Someone made a SoVA thread a couple months ago. I made a post in it a few days ago, bumping it to the first page of Match Finder.

  21. Hey, I saw one of your posts in the SFIV thread, and noticed your location. I'm in Norfolk, so you're somewhat close to me. Are you into GG at all? One of my friends GreenEggsKam and I have been trying to find more GG players in the area.

  22. I use a pad (it's not a ps3 pad though), but I don't use the config you do. I was actually thinking about learning Carl with D on R1, but that got shafted because I didn't want to have to keep switching the config back to default for when I play my other two characters, so I use default config for Carl as well. I can groundloop, do teleport allecan setups, kara fastfall, and all that jazz. The only thing I can't do consistently is the simple throwloop, because of the way I have to do it with my config. Also, the more involved throwloop setups where you have to walk nirvana foward are out of the question. That projectile is amazing! It looks like it doesn't have a max range either. It's like having fullscreen artillery support from the backline.
  23. I'm not sure if Zeero has BB for 360, but I know he does for for ps3. His psn is GG_Zeero. Also, you can add me to the list as well. psn: DaBatCave Location: Virginia My Carl has gotten extremely rusty (was never good to begin with), but I'm looking to start using him again since I fixed my controller.
  24. I don't usually RC standard blockstrings into another blockstring unless I see that the opponent is close to guard break. Rarely am I able to lock someone down that long to even come close to guard breaking them (due to instant blocking and barrier), unless maybe they're tager. However, I will frequently use the 50% to RC a ground string that hits on a standing opponent to continue the combo into 6a 6c drive loop. When fighting tager, I find myself using her ground DD often against him. Other than that, I RC unsafe things, like Spring Raid or 3c when they're blocked.
  25. Loaded just fine for me
