Basically, if you use a plink timing with button presses, it won't work? Also, I didn't know DF could satisfy the foward input of LI/DI. That's good to know.

At least your day wasn't completely wasted and you got some AH3 in. Next time. I don't know if this was the same for anyone else, but I had 5 people come up to me asking about the game. That's not bad at all for a game that apparently "looks terrible." Shoutouts to Kudlak-Sin, Bravo mirrors, and that weird glitch in one of my matches where we passed through each other twice.

Where are you playing, if you made it? I don't see any CC anywhere at all yet.

Ok, whenever I'm done with my pools matches. How long will you be there Saturday?

I am bringing my ps3, with GG, P4U, and CC. You can use it if there's a spare TV/Monitor to pair with it. -

Are you serious!?!? #*^&!@#!%#@%+ I've been trying to find someone who plays out here for 6 years. Do you play with anyone offline around these parts? -
Yeah, I wish it wasn't that silly-looking. The input leniency makes it much harder than it looks to pull off though (I can't even get more than 3 reps). I'd be good with them taking it out, as long as she can still combo into the whip midscreen and continue into air combo.

Anyone trying to play now? -
That's all correct. I didn't even know 214c was air unblockable. I've been playing this game for weeks now, and I'm still learning stuff. Orbs aren't really used for oki like one would expect, mainly because of how they function. Hermes can't control when they explode; they explode by themselves after sitting on screen for a certain amount of time. That can disrupt the opponents' offense or force them to stop what they're doing if they happen to be beside one that's about to go off. She can detonate them with her lighting bolt (623b/d) which also creates a smaller bolt wherever there's an orb, Hermes has too much recovery for that to have oki utility. Imo, that's better used for zoning. Also, the fact that she lacks a practical crossup hurts her oki potential further. Her other moves also help her zoning ability. You already know about the whips - 236c for air coverage and 236a for ground. 214a can also be used to control ground space, but it should definitely be used at the end of your ground combos if you want maximum damage. Same with her 214c, which you can kind of just throw out there to fish for counterhits. Her 22b ice pit is great to protect the space in front of her. It doesn't go away when Hermes is hit, so it keeps people from jumping in on her if she's behind it. That gives her time to put some orbs on the screen. The 22d is a full-screen-traveling low. You can have a 22b on the ground and do 22d to control almost all of the ground. If 22d hits, you can easily confirm into 236236a/c on reaction to the hit from fullscreen. That's not say Hermes doesn't have any rushdown tricks. I think her best oki tool is the 22b ice pit. She can do a simple combo into 2d and drop a meaty 22b under opponents to force them to block on wakeup, which she can combo off of on hit and continue pressure after on block. Hermes has arguable the best regular throw in the game, because she gets a free combo off of it anywhere on screen. She jump in with an air normal, cancel into air 214b, and drop down with falling normal for a double overhead. Hermes gets her biggest damage in the corner, with meterless guaranteed stun combos and infinites. There's the unblockable trick that ShinHezekiah mentioned, which Hermes can combo after.

DBCLoop and his M.O.M MODE!! -
I have a question, and I've been wondering about this for a while now. Is there a mechanic or status in the game that is only prevalent when you're in red health? I just find it odd that Practice Mode lets you set life to red, so it must be something I don't know about.
-
Nope, I only have about 40% consistency with it so far, and it's slightly different from the one in the video. Oddly, grinding that out helped me come up with a much better midscreen throw combo, which you can go into the 1-hit whip loop if you happen to be close enough to the corner.
-
I never would've guessed Hermes had enough frame advantage after 2B to dash up and 5C. I figured the loop at the end was possible, but I couldn't quite set it up right. I'm stealing some of this stuff.
-
I don't play regular Hikaru, but as a general combo tip (if it involves linking a normal), try holding the 2C during whatever is before that, and the 2C will come out on the first frame that your character returns to neutral. If it doesn't work when you do that, then at least you'll know that it's not your link timing that's the issue.

Let us know how you did, sir.

Don't feel bad, at least you got some rounds. I almost had one round, and he squeezed that away from me. I was not ready for super agro det mode robot at all. GG's Stormlocke. The connection was surprisingly better than I was expecting for coast to coast! -

I will hit you up this weekend, VR. We should have 4-bars. I've only seen two 4-bars, and one of them wouldn't even let me play him. -

I feel bad sometimes, because I play everyone as if they're a competitive player, and I know there are players who want a gentlemen's game. Seems like a lot of people are turned off by balls on the screen, so I assume that ungentlemanly conduct? -

GG's, not bad at all for only a weeks worth of serious play. My alts are kind of ghetto, but I do have a general idea of how to use them, except Jam. I have no clue what to do with her besides 6H. Oh, and my stopping randomly throughout the matches was not intended. My controller kept desynching sometimes whenever I made a brisk movement. I think my usb cord may be cheap or something. -

gg's to HoodooChile, Brandino, and gigaitachi a few days ago. Is anyone trying to play now? I'll be on for a couple hours at least. If only there was a way too tell all the randoms to stop using quick match until hopefully a future patch arrives where the netcode is better and we can see the connection strength with the opponent... -
GG's to IIII Jin IIII, Zenouken, Nephinel, and LadyFascination the weekend before last. GG's to Bottled Snizz this past weekend. That was much-needed AC Testament experience.

Because of the PSN release postponement, I've been playing on the weekends on my friend's xbox and account. gamertag: Dsinniethetroll
