That's what I thought. Nobody's gonna get caught by that sort of "resets". Not to mention that for an oki setup, it's ridiculously stupid considering the damage you could deal instead...

First off, I was merely sharing a combo I was experimenting with, so get off your high horses. 2nd, resets don't work all the time. 3rd, this dumb combo only works on Ragna. I went on training mode and tested it on several other characters, to no avail. Not to mention that 3.1k is stronger and knockdowns as opposed to Sekkajin > Air Combo. Sekkajin > 6C > 2D > 6B > 5B actually connects Lao, so I'm not sure what reset you see in that. Unless you're delaying either of those, which seem high unlikely to work. I don't know what is supposed to be that 'd.5b', if you care to enlighten me on that one. And anyway, it's a meter dependent combo, there are lots of BnBs that have meter extensions, so I don't get your point. Jin does 2.4k in average off his safe pokes on normal hit (5B, 2B and 5C), excluding his As since it doesn't scale very well.

Well, after reading your post I've decided to go on training mode and try new combos based off his. His combo obviously does not work. My combo requires 25 meter though. Here goes nothing: 5B(2) > Sekkajin > 6C > 2D > j.C > JC > j.2C > 214D > 6C > 214C. I'm pretty sure that it requires you to be at most midscreen away from the corner in order to pull off the last 6C > 214C. So it's not worth it otherwise. Does around 3.1k. I will test out more of it's variant and the combo itself again in different circumstances/screen position, etc.

The best advice I could give you is think first. Having a predictable and punishable pressure game is worse than not having a pressure game at all. If they know what you'll do and always end up punishing you, it's no good. Don't push buttons without knowing what you're actually doing. Always aim for something (Overhead, frame trap, low, throw, crossup...). You can start very simply with 5a / 2a pressure, it's easy to hit-confirm out of them considering the fact that you can get a few jabs in as a reaction time filler sort of thing. And yeah, pretty much everything everybody's said. It has to be safe on block! Don't start getting into gimmicks until you learn to use your character effectively first.

I'll go ahead and assume that both you and that guy are inexperienced and that he's probably using Hell's Fang's followup even on block. If it's the case, you can either: - Block normally (that lets him one guard primer though!) and punish with 5B. - Instant block (shit's so obvious, you can do it!) and punish him with more damaging stuff. If it's Hell's Fang (1), you can 2a him out of his recovery frames if I remember correctly (haven't played against him for a while...). If that Ragna is HF spamming, you're doing it wrong. Another option that has quite a bit risk to it with little reward is DPing him out of it. I usually do that when I really get irritated and know he's about to do it again. And full-screen knockdowns should not be that threatening. He has to run up to you and most Ragnas either do: 5b, 2b or 6b. So you can either Jump, DP C him out of it. Barrier blocking is important considering the fact that he eats primers like it's lunch. If his pressure game gets too overwhelming just go for a counter assault.

That must be because you're not mashing C fast enough in order to have a good link from 5C to Sekkajin. What I mean is that if you delay the C mashing just a little bit, your Sekkajin's 8th hit will miss.

Hyde and Linne are definitely interesting characters for me. Linne looks like an enhanced Ryougi Shiki with a sword and a knife, she's freaking awesome. I'm not into fatties and ladyboys . This game looks interesting, hopefully it'll get a console release or something. That would be a must-buy for my PS3 fighting game collection.
