I too could live with just the removal of FRC's and slashback, I wouldn't be at all happy about FRC's, and don't really care either way with slashback, but what I don't like is the road that starts down.

I really think the problem is two fold, one, there actually are some elitist out there who crap all over other games that make the rest of us look bad. Up here in washington we GET players in our GG/BB scene(they are the same scene for the most part, we go to all the same events, there's lots of cross over in player base, even our smaller meets are very mixed) because we are one of the most accepting. We have actually had people come to BB/GG meets purely because they felt like it was too hard to get into other scenes. Two people put down other games/defend GG because GG got crapped on for a looonnggg time by other communities. I have some more stuff to say about why the GG scene is awesome and way more accepting than you think, but I gotta go for now(gonna go play GG!).

FRC's IMO are one of the best things about gear(and no not at all because they are hard).

I already gave one reason why longer frc window lengthening DOES change the game on this very page.

Not to mention increasing the the length of time an FRC lets you start doing crazy things like waiting and watching for punishes before you frc.

The game is hella short, good thing it has alternate storylines, replayable missions with rank, and apparently the best hard mode ever which I haven't even touched yet. I'm also only about half way through ONE of the arena modes. Also can it play multiplayer locally(can ps3 even play locally at all? I haven't lanned with 360 or ps3) because I'd totally be up for some games at a random meet sometime.

I totally J.H'd and had an enemy try and punch me from the front and it extended their hit box through me enough that it traded.

The obvious reason to use the ground counters is that the jump counter has jump start up added to it, and frame 1 counters are a lot less impressive when they aren't actually frame 1.

'eh personally I find current arakune to be 'man this sucks, man this sucks, man this sucks, oh wait it's my turn to be able to do something, ok that's over, man this sucks, man this sucks'. It just doesn't feel like pre curse he has enough options, he's so limited in what he can do. I think CT arakune was a thousand times funner, I'd prefer CT arakune with weaker damage or no recurse to trash tier pre curse arakune into god tier post curse arakune.

I'm fine with them making curse mode weaker if they make pre curse arakune not the most boring thing in the universe.

So how it works a little more in depth. Every character has the same amount of life(unlike SF) but they have two defensive values, one is defense, and the other is guts. Defense just makes you take less/more damage(some people scale above 1.0 so they actually take extra damage, chip being the worst at 1.4ish I believe). Guts modifies your defense as you get lower on health, everyone gets a bonus defense when they get low on health, the better the guts rating the better the defensive bonus. For guard bar, each move adds a certain amount of guard bar when blocked, and takes away a certain amount of guard bar when hit. Higher guard bar does not make a hit deal more damage, but lower guard bar DOES take away damage from the attack, so a higher guard bar to start a combo 'adds' damage to it. Additionally if the guard bar is flash any hit will be a counter hit. For the most part projectiles don't add to guard bar.

hmmm next time i'm aorund a ps2 with gear I'll mess around with it a bit and see if I can't figure it out.
