I can't really comment on that because I don't nearly play enough Carls to tell. Just basing this off of Japanese matchup lists.
-
Just a minor correction but Carl DOES have an overhead. It is 6C. And this is probably one of Hazama's only two bad matchups.
-
If you burst his D ID, you can 3C CH for 6k or 8k with 50 meter. It's not recommended though... doing offensive green bursts are big gambles because sometimes you just wind up wasting a burst.

Zone with 6D and 5D. Bait sledge with D~A all day. And remember the most important thing in the CS2 matchup: DO NOT USE 214D~A ENDER FOR MIDSREEN COMBOS. Always end with Jabaki and if you wanna damage him and continue pressure, do a dash 5D before he wakes up from Jabaki and that should stop him from mashing. He'll be locked down and you can D followup to j.B or C followup for a nice crossup. You don't want to be near Tager. Use fully extended 2D~B and get away like a boss (or j.9D/j.7D~D). Your command grab beats his so if you see one coming in your blockstring and pressure, use it. Although I don't recommend getting too personal and in his face. If he's stupid enough to use 6A while you're grounded and magnetized, make him eat 3C CH for 6k. Watch out for A sledge if you wanna end your pressure with Jabaki because it goes through it for a scary CH sledge. Don't forget that 214D~A Lv1 can be followed up on Tager and Hakumen. Jump a lot by canceling your 5B and 5C. Don't dash cancel 2A > 2A too much because it'll get you 360'd very easily. Also... don't get magnetized. If he magnetizes you, the match is pretty problematic. The best thing to do when you're magnetized is use the run away chains like I mentioned and then crouch and sit still on the other side of the field till it wears off. It he jumps in at you, you have 2C and you can jump cancel 2C.

It's better to move it since we have some info in it now. It'd be a waste to just delete it.

Ragna is one of the hard characters to zone in my opinion. His j.C covers a lot of space. You have to zone him well or else he'll get in your face. Try to stay away from his 5C range. Watch out for Inferno Divider rapid cancel. It's really scary and it's one of the safest ways of getting out of pressure for him. Blood Kain isn't that big of a deal because you can just j.7D~D away from him or just block in the air. Just don't forget that 6D is air unblockable. It can hurt a lot if he catches you with 6D,j.D in Blood Kain.
-
214D~B to catch him if he tries getting in from the air. He really can't punish it. 2C is good but his j.B, j.2C and j.C have such long ranges that you will sometimes get hit and 2C will whiff. Bait out the counters and punish them with command grab or 6A overhead/6B low into Houtenjin IF you have meter. If not, go for command grab. Watch out for Yukikaze because Hazama's chains will make it activate(also his astral) and you can't move because his chains are both projectiles and physical moves at the same time. So don't just spam snakes on him from fullscreen because you can get Yukikaze'd. Don't try air grabbing too much. His j.C and j.2A are really scary air to air pokes that will shut down any air grab attempts or any air to air in general. Best way to air grab is doing it from tech traps. Make your opponent tech in the air and immediately grab them. Don't mash buttons after his 6A. Watch out for Hotaru. It's really scary DP.
-
2C completely shuts down his j.B approach or any other air approach for that matter. Use it a lot. 6D, j.7D, j.5D and j.6D are very useful in this matchup.

6B is a better move if you wanna guard crush. Don't bother wasting heat on this move. Just my 2 cents. @Dacid: Sorry I didn't mean to sound offensive or sharp. But now that I look back at my post I guess I put it in a really bad tone considering the situation although I would've worded it like that had it been someone else as well. So I'm gonna fix it and say: Just watch the JP Hazama players. They don't use this move for good reasons.
-
Well that's the thing. You're just saying they're backed up by footage. Then when we talk about the giant holes in his pressure, you talk about frametraps. Then you talk about Jabaki making stuff safe. Then you tie it all up by showing Japanese footage? Make it to the 100th page and we've accomplished something great.
-
Yeah. I believe this is a great way to stop this. I'm an arrogant prick who won't listen to reason. Happy now? Great. Now you got nothing to post in this thread about. Goodbye :3 (You're last post was so filled with irony... there's obviously no convincing you either because you believe you have irrefutable arguments. You can't argue with someone with a mindset like that)
-
That's because you're fundamentals are good. Not necessarily Hazama being an easy character.
-
You call that an insult? I'm merely observing because you're so stuck on numbers that you forget actual play matters. I'm telling you to either play Hazama or play against good ones. Because honestly, I don't think you know the matchup.
-
Well... the thing is that Dacidbro can't tell the difference between numbers and theoretics and actual play. He assumes something being plus means it's safe and the player gets paid for it 24/7. That's not the case. So I suggest you play strong Hazamas and continue getting blown up by this bullshit pressure of his. OR you could play Hazama yourself and put this autopilot pressure to good use.
-
You've never been hit by double instant overheads, have you

tbh the only time I've seen a Hazama use it was Buppa... and he was trolling a low PSR Litchi... he did wakeup TK Hirentotsu. So yeah.
-
That's great. But CS is 39.99$ in Canada at my local Gamestop.
-
It just came to my attention... Really... you just said that? You mean you don't know Valk can "wolf cancel" that shit and make you pull your hair out with his bullshit mixup and pressure? Him not being able to dash cancel like Hazama, doesn't make Hazama's pressure more bullshit than his. Oh fuck me. I think I got Dacidbro in another argument about how Valk's pressure is inferior to Hazama... well shit, son. I'm done.
-
Now you make excuses for insulting him. What kind of morbid excuse is that? You should be ashamed of yourself.
-
I can't believe he would insult WBW like that.
-
Go watch those pro Japanese Hazama matches that you talk about all the time. Now watch how many times they use this move "to crush lows". Then come back and ask me why they don't.
-
I don't get it. You're telling me that watching videos of Japanese players is the same as you actually experiencing the matchup first-hand? Shit makes no sense. You can't just say it's not mashable because they don't do it in vids. Jabaki is punishable by an opponent that knows what to do. You don't seem to get these things though. So I'll leave it at that. Edit: Just read the last part of your post that you edited in. Ummm... you can't frametrap with 6A. Makoto 5A is +2. Hakumen 5A is +3, 2A +1, 2B +2 and 6A +3... you're just giving two moves that are slight advantages and saying they make him autopilot. Good arguments...
-
Please tell us of these strong Hazama players that you seem to be playing against. Please let us know. It sounds like you've beaten Buppa and Noze twice over. Dude... you are SO wrong about point 1 and 2. Makes me really sad that you actually believe in these.
