  1. Yeah Jam can raise the guardbar easily too, midscreen 5H pressure strings and whatnot. That shit hurts. I've been pressure->guardbar flashing->dizzy combo->IK'ed many times. That affects gameplay.
  2. Some characters' gameplay involves the guard bar...like Venom for example? One of the few (only?) ways Venom can get over 50% damage outside of the corner is with flashing guard bar, which is not that uncommon for him, considering how easy it is to do blockstring into Dark Angel, or a gattling into SA FRC into pressure/mixup. Yes I would say setting up 70-80% damage dust combos has an effect on gameplay. A character's ability to raise the guardbar does impact their ability to deal damage, so I wouldn't say it's not important. It's not as crucial as alot of other things, but it's far from pointless. Dark Angel is most likely the best OD in the game, one of the few worthwhile. Its main perks are that it pushes the enemy into the corner in most cases, it deals significant damage through guard, or saps almost the same tension it cost to use from the enemy if they FD it, and it leaves venom in an oportunity to mixup/pressure. And the flashing guardbar makes the combo resulting from that mixup extremely dangerous, making dark angel an extremely good move. Not to mention the fact that often people will get anxious or nervous if they have full guard bar, which makes them easier to predict. Putting your opponent in that situation is definitely beneficial to you.
  3. Rapidshare link to song: http://rapidshare.com/files/78390699/That_Man.mp3.html Pretty good quality, as good as can be expected of something recorded from a flv. But it's probably not too much lower than the eventual CD release quality.
  4. I'll try to get it in as high quality as I can, give me a bit of time (later today).
  5. That's vs an AI. No human would ever fall for that. And beating an AI is absolutely pointless. Millia's IK is not unblockable, using it as oki will not kill any human player. So I'm keeping my cash and...handjob to myself until I get hit by it.
  6. I would assume they edited sean's sprites? It takes about a minute considering sean's already practucally a ryu sprite edit. He also has edited Gouki and Ken sprites.
  7. Are you going to tell me that SF doesn't have invincibility frames and unblockables? Hell, your beloved Ryu has an unblockable in multiple games. Not that unblockables are even broken to begin with, as they're all avoidable (if they're not avoidable, THEN they're broken, besides which that's a character specific issue (fucking eddie ><) and not a GG system issue, GG does not have universal unblockable frame traps) and are you fucking complaining about invincibility frames? Don't you know who started those??? Ever heard of a goddamn shoryuken? GG is NOT broken, Eddie is, but GG's system is not, and therefore Sol standalone is not broken. He just has more tools (none of which are broken) at his disposal than characters from more simplistic games. And instant kills are the opposite of broken. I'll literally give you a thousand dollars and a handjob if you land an IK on me. Try it. Go ahead and be a SF fanboy but at least don't be an ignorant asshole about it. God I can't believe I waste my time on some people.
  8. Hmm, maybe the 4 way splitscreen I saw was just showing off multiple characters at once in the video...I'll try to find it, I'm almost positive I saw it though. I'll really be turned off of this game if there isn't even a 2 player split screen option...although I could get my friend to buy a copy and play it sorta splitscreen...picture in picture mode on the tv...with two 360's. EDIT: Here, this video shows at least 2 player split screen, I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8jt9A8xtEw
  9. I thought the game had local splitscreen up to 4 player, and up to 4 players on live? This is just what I gathered from video trailers I've seen. If the 4 player online games were splitscreen...that would be a bit weird, but I think I have seen videos with 4 player splitscreen. I might be wrong. Oh yeah and the other point I forgot in that KH 1000 heartless battle was...if I recall correctly, the battle takes place on literally one giant plane with no real environment, all one solid colour. It's like a tekken 2 arena or something, only larger. That means no lighting involved, and the ground is probably just one face, making it extremely easy for the ps2 to render. Don't get me wrong, that was the most epic scene in all of the ps2's history, it's a brilliant piece of game design, however from a technical standpoint, it's still nothing compared to what GG:O has going on in the more intense battles, with all the particles and lighting and high poly characters and environments. Yeah, it can be ported to the ps2, it's just not worth the effort. Although, when they brought GGX to the GBA, that confused me alot, and didn't seem worth the effort...did that game actually turn a profit? They redid all of the sprites for it, basically a new game from scratch. The ps2 port wouldn't be THAT hard to do, but the question is will it be profitable?
  10. Actually that 1000 heartless battle only has about 15 AI running around at once, and about 985 ultra low poly ultra reduced resolution textures dummies on a path. Also pretty much everything in that game is low res and low poly. Those particular heartless actually basically just have a grey map on them, not even any texture. This allows for less system memory used, but the heartless all look unbelievably simple. Reducing the number of poly's is not worthwhile. Yeah, it can be done, but it will be sloppy, ugly, and maybe even game breaking, unless they want to spend almost as much time developing the ps2 version as they did with the 360 version. Do not expect this to get ported to anything other than MAYBE the ps3. That would just be silly and probably not generate any revenue, making it a stupid waste of time. You're just going to have to trust me on this...it's what I do for a living.
  11. Hey overture's really not a bad game...it just has whacked out controls. Unless I'm missing something? The gameplay's good, does the online suck or what?
  12. Maybe you should turn on auto-save.
  13. Seriously, it's doing poorly in Japan? I figured it wouldn't do so badly, considering it's coming out after Lost Odyssey, which should have raised the 360 sales in Japan significantly. Well it seriously needs that NA release, I got the japanese demo, and it's pretty damn fun. The game's great, except that the controls are slightly awkward (push in left stick to RC? Weird). I will be buying this game if it's made available.
  14. You basically said what I was thinking, but didn't want to say for fear of sounding like an ass.
  15. So is "average damage" something like Abare? Because if so, I would like to say that Johnny needs to go up a few ranks for sure.
  16. 100% agree. The combos were great though, I have to say especially Fuji, some of the best Johnny combos in any video.
  17. can you really catch someone after K MF lvl2 without FRC outside of the corner? I haven't seen it done. Even with the FRC the timing is extremely strict.
  18. Why not use a lvl 2? It goes right through the tatami and still hits Baiken if you're at the proper range. That lvl 2 mist finer can end up costing baiken the match, easily. EDIT: Ah, Mitsurugi already covered it, sorry there.
  19. Unblockables randomly become unblockable in all of johnny's incarnations. It usually happens when the enemy FDs in the air, but sometimes happens for what seems to be no reason whatsoever.
  20. That worked alot better in Slash, it seemed. Jackhound doesn't help me very much with getting out of sticky situations in AC. Its invulnrability seems to come a bit later in the move now. Maybe that's just me. I prefer to DAA instead of OD, it's alot easier and less risky. Seriously, make use of DAA against Eddie.
  21. I wouldnt bother with the DB if you're going to switch to AC anyways. I would spend that time practicing AC Johnny's KJFRC combos instead.
  22. Most of that stuff was techable. I'm guessing you have the AI set to neutral tech?
  23. 2HS RC really gets you out of TE's net oki? Man, if this works, this helps me alot in the TE matchup.
  24. Aren't dubious curve and 5D slower than rock it? I would have to be just throwing those moves out randomly to make that work, I think. Unless my enemy was really repetitive and easy to predict. S DHM might work, I'll try all of these later today.
  25. hmm, I seem to always get beaten by it. I'll try 5K I guess, but during the dash motion of it, it always seemed like there was nothing I could do. I know it beats 2D, 6P, 2S, 5S (maybe not if the timing is just right, though...). But 5D? Is that really a practical way to beat Rock It? It seems a bit...too slow to effectively react with. I would think that it would only happen if you were throwing a random 5D out and HOS just happened to use Rock It by chance.
