who knows. maybe he just wanted to present some tutorial stuff in his vid and make it look like a combovid anyway, which is not a bad thing. i was surprised at how simple the stuff was, too, but i learned something from the combovid, and i can't say that about most other flashy vids. is there a list somewhere for easy 1 hit SG combos? cause i didnt know the one against dizzy or ky, for example.
-
dizzy and testa can dash over slidehead ground shake. hos can standing FD and will not get hit, a known bug. there is no magical "with all chars, sometimes i can dash over it, sometimes i can't" bug in the game.

i like 012's zoning in the vs. maruken match - he manages to stay perfectly out of her 2s range several times.

good news. thanks to a new combovid i realized that i could do instant air dash combos after a floor slide against johnny if i use 6hs to start the combo, that got me experimenting. vs JOHNNY, 25% tension, 221 damage, knockdown: CH j.D, d.6HS, 2369P, \/,d.s©,S(f), hs, 41236k, D you have to have a certain distance, though - too close, and the end of the combo doesn't work (have to use less hits), too far and it doesn't combo. for those cases, you can go for iad.j.P after the 6HS. for example: CH j.D, d.6HS, iad.j.P,K[2],delayed j.S,\/, relaunch combo the instant air dash part helps when you are too far away to go into 6hs, 2369P another variation would be: ANYWHERE, 0%, 161 dam, knockdown: CH j.D, d.6HS, iad.j.P,K[2],S, tj.P,P,K[2], delayed j.D researching right now: CH j.D, d.6HS, iad.j.P,K[2],S, tj.HS[1] OR tj.S, alpha blade, FRC, continue combo (corner only) still trying to find out more.

can't see how pot is a bad matchup for aba - afaik people agreed that she had a good matchup vs. pot. throw invincibilty on danzai helps a lot, her fuzzy guard setups work perfectly against pot and her combos are a lot longer and do more damage on heavy weight, big hitbox chars (mainly pot, heh).

uuh.. what kind of pokes are you using? 6HS? instant kill activation? how is 214k,k still punishing your pokes? or do you simply hit into 214k,k? cause that move has invincibility frames. as you said, gamma is useful against slayer, but you should only use it at max range, never closer than that. abuse your mobility. if he keeps jumping at you with j.HS, either air throw him (with an air instant block, land, throw / air throw option select). another option is a very early 2HS - 2hs does not beat j.HS usually, but when you do it early, slayer will actually do his j.HS later because he wants a clean jumpin - so you hit him in the startup / early active time. beta blade & mash P (in case it clashes) is another option or simply avoid him altogether and backdash or try to jump away. also, slayer is a rather tall character, you can sometimes get away with instant air dash, early normal, gatling into another normal - for example j.k[2],j.S, or even j.S,j.HS. problem: he can still duck that, but it's a reflex to block jumpins high - and you can mix it up anway. some other things: - make sure that IF you try to jump out of pressure, ALWAYS jump with FD, slayer has an easy time comboing you off of pretty much anything that hit you while you are airborne. examples are his 6hs, s,s, 5k, 2s, lots of stuff there. - dandy is really dangerous, obviously, and can even be used on wakeup - so make sure to use quick moves or jumpins for okizeme, no fancy meaty stuff or anything like that. - crossup mixup is useful against slayer if he tries to BDC jump away on wakeup - after all, once you cross him up, his back is now forward. i usually go for a gatling into a far 2D, then superjump forward, immediately j.k (makes you land earlier), then either FDC into j.HS[2] fake crossup or tap FD (to fake FDC), then j.HS or j.S for crossup. j.S might be more reliable for crossups, since j.HS sometimes hits only once and somtimes twice when you cross someone up - it is both character and spacing specific.
-
i experienced the sakura thing, too. extremely annoying. if you punish TOO fast it seems as if she still has her invul on it. chipp's s© has 4 frames of startup, happens very frequently that my move just passes through her after an instant or normal blocked sakura.
-
usually you don't have much choice, since the timing is really strict. one of the few examples where you have to have perfect spacing and timing is vs. eddie midscreen - but i can't even begin to describe the circumstances.

ogawa's eddie matchup list: vs. RKY: 6:4 vs. HOS: 6:4 vs. ABA: 6:4 vs. I-NO: 5.5:4.5 vs. zappa: 6:4 vs. buri: 6:4 vs. Anji: 6:4 vs. Venom: 6:4 vs. Testa: 5:5 vs. Dizzy: 6:4 vs. Slayer: 5.5:4.5 vs. Chipp: 6:4 vs. Jam: 5.5:4.5 vs. Axl: 6:4 vs. Johnny: 6:4 vs. Pot: 6.5:3.5 vs. Baiken: 5.5:4.5 vs. Faust: 6:4 vs. Sol: 6:4 vs. Ky: 6:4 vs. Millia: 5.5:4.5 vs. May: 6:4 vs. Eddie: 5:5 (no rly) there's also detailed info about those matchups (and a eddie combo list), but i don't have access to a scanner right now.

new combo vs. i-no: 50% tension, 257 damage, into corner: CH j.D 2S,HS, iad.j.P,D,236P,FRC,\/,6HS, j.D,236P,FRC,delay j.D,\/,s©,HS, iad.j.P,j.D,236P you can launch your opponent any way you like for this combo - the special part is the 6HS into relaunch without air dashes (and thus without punches). since this is kind of related to the combo in the previous post, i will research if this stuff is useful on other chars as well.
-
i updated my combolist with new info: after floor slide / gammablade, the standard 25% combo is: d.2S,HS, iad.j.P,j.D,236P,FRC, \/, 6HS, j.D however, you can add another alpha blade after the last j.D for several chars. you can only do this on shorter combos (like this one), but the exception is i-no - you can tack on that additional alpha even after longer combos. vs. dizzy: 237 dam. vs. i-no: 217 dam. vs. may: 217 dam. vs. jam: 217 dam. (hard) vs. axl: 217 dam vs. testa: 209 dam vs. anji: 216 dam vs. zappa: 209 dam vs. slayer: 199 dam vs. sol: 209 dam vs. hos: 199 dam. vs. faust: 197 dam. (keep in mind that you have to start with 5k, and you might also have to delay the last j.D, alpha slightly to get knockdown) vs. pot: 182 dam. (dont forget to do s©,2s,hs instead of s,hs at the beginning) vs. chipp: 266 dam.
-
which of i-no's attacks beat your 6p? you should beat anything out of the hoverdash. alternatively, try 5p or 5hs (5hs is a nice poke) against may: many of her moves have weird properties, like her 5hs - evades lows on some frames. that move beats your 2d. and be careful in air-to-air combat against may - her j.HS is absolutely ridiculous, both in hitbox and damage potential. did you try 5k against may? can't remember if it is reliable. also, you can 6p her horizontal dolphins, but you probably know that
-
the combos are just plain sick in this one, and yeah, understanding jam really helps to understand how hard and creative that stuff is. like the double coast to coast, the turnaround combo vs. pot, the 623k killing spree, the 4x 1 framer (or was that even more?) and all the other crazy shit (slayer bug -> combo, yeah!)

hey there champion, hope you guys are doing well in slowenia! will watch the matches when i'm back from london this weekend. some minor news from the german scene: - acd plays a lot of hos recently (and has a lot of fun doing so) - we had a nice meeting before new years eve, torture department & FiD, no matchvids but some of the most intense matches since a long time - i play eddie as a new 2nd char (although recently i wanna play more aba) - and i started training again with chipp after several months of doing nothing hope to see you guys soon (at the next tourney?), greetings, dave edit: i wrote junior instead of champion, must be a trauma, haha

just learn the timing, it's really quick, but don't be TOO quick, or you'll input the move in the "FRC stop". as for D/HS teleport FRC, j.HS - that's very hard, problably only 1-2 frames.
