  1. Followed by Nu-13 stabbing him in the gut...again. Because Ragna was stupid enough to extend a helping hand to her...again. Because we can't have a Blazblue game where Ragna isn't being used as a pincushion for someone's bladed objects...again. Alright alright fine, I am joking here. Ragna seems to have picked up a need to rescue young ladies of late and the man is nothing if not stubborn in his pursuits. He saved Noel, left arm be damned. His visage alone is enough motivation for Lamb-chops to start bringing herself back from the dead. So that only really leaves Nu-13. Though I have to wonder what that will ultimately accomplish because you all know as well as I that rescuing someone in games/anime is rarely depicted for its own sake. It almost always results in some kind of power-up or being the ultimate key to finish an objective. My theory? I believe Ragna with his 3 (or 4 if you wanna count Izanami/Saya) sisters will be the key to stopping whatever the Hell is waiting for everyone after Izanami's defeat which Nine foreshadowed.
  2. Not all that surprising. She IS the one talking to Ragna in that teaser trailer and asking him what sort of world he wishes for (or alternatively, what he wants from it). Every vibe felt like she was the penultimate boss. She even alludes that Izanami being defeated is inevitable during her speech but also claims that doing so it utterly pointless since there's something bigger than even her. Which is why currently, I think perhaps Nine has been the orchestrator of this whole mess while Izanami is more her "tool" than the other way around. Or perhaps Nine is simply Izanami's "physical will" made manifest for combat while Izanami herself does something else...
  3. Nah that's just Haku-men. I can tell from the black as a few white sprinkled around. It's his head and he's facing someone to the left. You can even tell it's him by the Katakana that spell out Su-Sa-No A.K.A Sankishin Unit Susano-O. A curious thought came to my mind: if there IS going to be a showdown between people that want Ragna dead and those that want to help him, it would be a perfect chance to see just where Izanami's thoughts lie on the matter. Obviously, being a Goddess of Death dedicated to, effectively, doing her job she has her priorities straight. However, she herself admitted that since her body once belonged to Saya she's still influenced by it (like her disdain for Hazama and willingly offering Ragna the chance to join her). So I am most curious as to see her reaction here.
  4. It is Noel's response to an, as of yet, unknown individual. Noel's line is something like "A rebellion? I am only hunting the Grim reaper" seen here at the 1:11 mark https://youtu.be/WtGQvjaaOf0?t=71. Who she's referring to is unknown though, but like MaC said it is possible there are 2 sides on the subject on how to deal with Ragna. Those that want him dead (likely Tsubaki, Jin, Haku-men, Rachel etc.) and those that want to save/help him (Noel). Possibly. Jin was tailored by Hazama to be the paper mache hero for his exploits in Ikaruga, even though he himself states what he did was nothing so impressive. He could also be referring to Haku-men in some way.
  5. From the translations of the trailer it seems Ragna, despite his amnesiac status, is STILL getting into deep trouble which is is exactly what Azrael points out. Curious how there was no mention made by Rachel at all about the "evil" he's shouldering though, but perhaps that's a bigger secret to be uncovered later on. Though like with any trailer, it raises more questions than it does answers. Off the top of my head: Why is Noel "hunting" Ragna the Bloodedge considered an act of "rebellion"? Why are Hazama and Terumi back alive and kicking? And Hazama knows yet another secret of the Azure but what could it be? There is a final "truth" upon defeating Izanami and it is something that is proclaimed as "unchanging" but what is it? In addition, the final line is asking Ragna directly what he "wishes" for and an answer is given but we don't get too hear what it is, though according to the speaker (Nine) the answer doesn't leave her impressed. Hopefully BBCF will address most of this.
  6. So about that "PS4 sprites looking bad" thing...yeah, I honestly do not see it. I got a pretty large TV (40'' plasma) and the sprites do not look any more "jagged" than they did on the PS3. I dunno if it is just my TV or whatever, but the game still looks phenomenal. Loading times are shorter too I find. By the way, did they do something about the input buffer? At first I was not getting the 623 motion on Ragna (kept getting 236 instead) but after knocking some of the rust off my thumbs, it's a lot more consistent on the PS4's D-pad. For the life of me, I could NOT get 623s to come out on the PS3's D-pad back in vanilla CP. Anyone else feel the same?
  7. Well golly gee willikers, that about sums up my FG history right there. Though I figure, before a skeleton I need an actual character to build that skeleton with and to this day I have not found a concrete one in BB (but that is a separate matter and we already have a thread for that). Though I must give my thanks for that list you mentioned. I've been hit with a slump in BB and not had any success so I will try your method and start from scratch. 10 days left until BBCPE hits my local retailer. Let's see if I can't find something to settle down with once and for all.
  8. I am not sure I am correct on this but I believe that ASW wanted to localize the game themselves, rather than using Aksys like they've been doing. They started it with BBCSE if I am remembering this right. Another is perhaps a money issue. Strangely Compelling might have charged less than say Aksys.
  9. See I thought about that as well. I even knew he HAD an earring since the CT opening depicted him with it (as did most other animated cutscenes). But I swear it was never as pronounced as it was in CP since it wasn't until that game that I saw it glaring me in the face. Perhaps they simply used a new shade for it and that's why? It also seemed to shift in location (as in where it is placed on the ear) from time to time though I lack proof of it.
  10. If Arc System Works used Strangely Compelling again, don't bet on it. If they are using someone else (best case scenario: Aksys) then there is a chance. In all honesty, the localization for BBCP was, in my opinion, a disaster. Mismatched dialogue in sub/dub is only the tip of the iceberg. Random volume spikes are abound, usually involving poor, smoker's throat English Bang while others get their volume decreased during dialogue. Ragna for some reason has a green dot on one of his ears in Story Mode for his portrait (I think I am one of the few that noticed this due to the size of my TV). And then there's the whole business with Tutorials that claim such lovely things as "Amane's Drive steals life and heals him". And my personal favorite (I'll SPOILER it just in case): And the final kicker? They took 9 months to localize this. 9-flippin-months. Yet why does something tell me a 10-year old using a Japanese-English dictionary could have done a similar or better job of it in that amount of time? Look, I am aware human error is bound to happen somewhere, sometime. But there is a limit to that as well. So here's hoping Extend fares a bit better, even if it may be a little too naive of me to think that.
  11. Well, I certainly didn't expect to be mindfucked after coming home from work... So Tag Battles, I'm with beanwich and Lunais: they should be just another, optional mode. Maybe on the occasional Story battle where we frequently see people traveling in groups, so it might add a bit of immersion on that front as well. But making them mandatory? I hope not. I have a hard time deciding on the one character I'd like to main, let alone 2 or 3. Skullgirls is so far the only game where I've seen the inherent Tag Team mechanic not really hinder a player using only a single character, though this was only achieved later down the line.
  12. Or alternatively, you could try not jumping to conclusions because attempting to predict Mori's exact thought patterns is like trying to pinpoint the coordinates where the first raindrop in Autumn will fall; downright impossible.
  13. And since we can't just keep smacking Ragna here's a Kagura/Jin: Kagura: Play nice Jinjin. Jin: Would you stop? Oh like you weren't going to buy it anyway XD. Weren't you the one (or someone else on this forum) that said we were "tsundere for this series"? No matter what, we always seem to find a reason to buy the newest entry.
  14. Tag battles sound fun, though if I had to pick, I'd go with the more Tekken option. If only because I want the duo to interact with each other when tagging in. Imagine a Hazama/Ragna for instance: Hazama: You're up King Siscon. Ragna: I'll kill you later. Or maybe some v-13/Ragna: v-13: Give'em hell Ragna <3. Ragna: Creepy as always. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. My only concern is the "flashiness needs to be cut down" remark. But, you're ASW! Flashy 2D combat is 50% of the experience and 100% of the reason I like you over say Capcom.
  15. Still weird though. Even if the game was somehow incorporating the inputs from the fade-in/out, why would it suddenly confuse 2 moves with different attack buttons? In one he's doing 214D and in the other he's pulling out a 720C. Unless they changed the input to 214C I don't see how the game would/should mix up moves with different attack buttons.
  16. Could be the higher resolution thus making the game look more jagged than usual? I know PS4 ports of past generation console games tend to be...a mixed bag in the visual department.
  17. I see. I stand corrected then. I was going off on the English localized version. No wonder all the facts didn't match up. So many possibilities. Though, Rachel gave up her position as an Observer didn't she? Or does that just abdicate her position as opposed to the skillset associated with it? I think we might be able to rule out the vampiric powers as ever since the first loop, he's been able to save himself by using the Azure Grimoire. Unless Rachel drinking his blood way back in loop one somehow allows her to "rewind" him (think something like blood memory or whatever) to that state after she is killed. Again too many ideas... Yeah that is a problem with this series I find. There's all these paths and outcomes which are both simultaneously canon and non-canon at once. Especially with that tug-of-war between the Imperator and Master Unit happening during this game. Hopefully now that it is over, we can get a more streamlined, definitive progression.
  18. To clarify though, we don't know if Rachel's death would do that in the first place. She told Tsubaki to use Immortal Breaker on her and kill her if neither Jin nor Tsubaki are able to kill Ragna before he keels over on his own. How her death factors into this (or if it even does anything) is unknown. It could be that she simply no longer wants to live if Ragna isn't around. Or it could be that her death allows her to somehow interfere with the "evil" (perhaps seal it). It could even be that her death is there to prevent said "evil" from using Rachel in some way. Personally out of the ones I listed, I am more fond of the 3rd option but again, we have no idea what effect Rachel dying has in correlation to Ragna, the methods of his death and his inner "evil".
  19. Thank you both. I guess it'll grow in due time then? Though I don't know how much more the XBox1 population could grow since the game is split between 3 different consoles altogether and not all 3 are compatible with each other. Price paid for wider appeal? Hmm, IIRC weren't the PS3 and PS4 versions cross-platform? Maybe that's why? I do recall even in vanilla CP, hell even as far back as CS, I noticed that the game will load the connection for the first 1 or 2 rooms and had to take several minutes to fully load the other 9 or 10. Still if the latency is fine then that is good enough for me. I generally stick to my own rooms anyway so this pleases me.
  20. That never stopped? Ouch. So it's been about a week. Has anyone tested how the game plays online? Specifically for the PS4 (if anyone here bought it on that console)? I keep hearing talk of glitches and how the XBox 1 has a very good online connection (at the same time being a virtual ghost town) so I'd like to know people's experiences so far.
  21. Except for those characters, chip damage is an afterthought whist for Amane it is his main objective and primary damage reward. And I can understand why people like Raziul might fear him. It's not that he and his mechanic are "good right now" but rather "could become good in a later update" because let's face it: bottom feeders tiers in ASW games tend to eventually drag themselves back up. Amane was what, mediocre in 1.0/1.1? He's craptastic now. What happens if in BB4 he jumps to upper mid? Not even top of the tier pyramid, but just simply a little above average? Mind you though, I am not defending Reziul's P.O.V because I do not believe Amane's chipping mechanic is as dangerous as he makes it out to be. If it were, we definitely would be seeing a lot more of him being used. And personally, I am kinda glad he exists. Too often I find myself getting bored with players generally being far too defensive because they know Barrier Blocking is their little safety net. Then Amane fabulously trots towards them and you know they're forced to be more aggressive since allowing him to have his way with your Barrier is just asking to get drilled to death.
  22. *Sigh* Par for the course I guess as is the eventual power-up at the climax to make him able to take on...whoever decides to take the Final Boss role.
  23. SPOILER TAGGING just in case for safety. Also a small clap to you ASW, you actually updated Minerva's story sprite. Nicely done though I can't help but feel like Minerva is rolling her robotic eyes at whatever Celica is saying. Thank you Zedar as well.
