  1. I wouldn't mind going if I had the money, but I don't play well on stick at all, and the arcade noise would get to me. Been practicing with Baiken - practicing FD Dash brake with throw and Dead Angle. I hear Baiken has the worst grab range, so if I can nail it on her, I've have a few more surprises in store for the folks I play with. (Good idea/Bad idea?) I'm having real trouble being fast enough to do RCs. This game just keeps getting faster every time I come back to it. I'm beginning to see why the company has qualms about making another game like AC+. Unless it's cleaned up, loosened up or slowed down, it's a very intimidating game to get into and keep playing. I'd discuss more, but this is a question thread. We should probably make a general thread.
  2. I should give this a try. This is something that should be added to the guides.
  3. Understood. I've found that watching good players like Nerina have gotten me to understand what I need to do with Baiken through mimicking - I wish I could find someone also good for Jam - preferably with commentary - I'll have to check out the subforums for that stuff. I wonder what the best settings would be to practice different drills for different mechanics? I'd have to drill myself for Throws, IBs, and such.
  4. Cool. Thanks. I can see that I should probably start from the ground up and practice basic things, along with saving tension, since everything draws from it. I'm working on saving for the capping equipment - maybe might see some stuff from me for critique or put up for bros.
  5. I finally got a new TV, and I also dropped 30 bucks to find a used AC+. I even have the manual and Bonus disc! I'm really happy with it, and now I CAN TRAIN UP TO BEAT THE VETS AT CLUB. I'll have to study up on some of the mechanics that make it more complicated than BlazBlue (DA, FB, SB) since I'm not familiar with how they may be used or what place they might have in my playstyle, but I'm sure as I read I'll be able to ask some good questions. I look forward to improving my Baiken and Jam games. So here's my question: Does anyone have any advice so a casual newcomer like me can learn more efficiently? What can I do to transfer my skills from BlazBlue?
  6. I'm...gonna have to go back and read this argument again... Are we actually implying that good players get scrubbed up by Ken Flowcharts?
  7. Definitely this, I've found that I got wrecked using Bang simply because I get really rushy and spammy. That's getting better, and thus I'm better with everyone now.
  8. LOL give Tager Sliding Head and HammerFall... My question: How much of Platinum's stuff should I be Barrier Blocking with Litchi?
  9. I agree - Ken Flowcharting has given me good DP Skills on that wonderful device in my avy.
  10. Wow. Thanks for this!
  11. This is why Arcana Heart 3 is KILLING SSF4AE OHHH YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAH! NOT!
  12. I thought it was assumed we were talking about western markets. The most important part of a game is being able to play it. I'm not driving two hours to play Guilty Gear at an arcade smart enough to buy it. Period. You're right. The next guilty gear should be like MAHVEL. Release half a game again. I think Capcom can handle releasing half a game. I'm not too sure about others.
  13. Bang versus all the Makotos in a line. After that - Victory is assured!
  14. I definitely like being able to play the games I like. I bought CT - already old and somewhat forgotten, simply because it was on PC and I wanted to experience it. I don't have the means to hook up my console and play Guilty Gear or CS. I certainly can't afford or fit an arcade machine in here. Certainly, driving or taking the train to NYC to play at a loud arcade is also not very plausible. The console and PC releases are as important as the arcade.
  15. I was told this would be a more appropriate place for this - Sorry for the extra thread before: I wanted to make something fun - and Fun I had. Bang probably will replace Tao as my sub. PS: I am also hyped to see some Dora antics on video soon. Don't feel bad, CS2 Bangs - Just harken back to CT and you'll find THE POWER again.
  16. I don't think modes would really make a difference. When you mention it - it sounds too much like "Beginner mode", which chaps my ass. I'll want data about how much Beginner mode contributes to popularity. It's hard for me to say what is popular and what's not - fighters seem to be a small genre - so what's hot and not tends to evade me because it's hard to get into in general. BlazBlue more popular? I would guess so, seeing as it is fairly new and an enjoyable game. I definitely think that Guilty Gear has success to drive a new game. I think it's fun enough as is (Minus Potemkin and Slayer RRRR) not to warrant a "reinvention" by altering mechanics to suit BlazBlue's slower pace of play. I think it's more of a feature challenge and a marketing challenge. Give it all the features BlazBlue has (no beginner mode...) and Hype your NEW GUILTY GEAR HELLOOOO? and I'm fairly sure it'll make money. Give people swag. People love Swag. Let people try it. Show them it's good. Oh, I also agree there's a bigger market now to warrant a new GG thanks to BB. Play BlazBlue, try Guilty Gear - people can get hooked.
  17. From a development standpoint: If you handed me the source to the latest game and some meager amount of money, I'd simply make AC++ with BlazBlue's Features of outstanding fully-voiced story mode, Solid online play, challenges, Gallery and all those nice things then market it a little more strongly than BlazBlue. I'd release on PC, Xbox360, and PS3. That would make money. I hardly added anything. Hand me more money and I'd upgrade the sprites, add more portraits and scenes, make the game worthy of being a lasting HD animu-airdasher. A new character or two would be nice, too. Maybe something more BlazBlue-y. Throw in a meganekko or a female shotofail throwback. From a gamer standpoint: All of that then Fuck Potemkin. It'll make money. Promise.
  18. I say don't be afraid to play staffless Litchi just because of no-DP - someone told me "hold onto the stick for dear life" and "remember gatling stuff" when CS2 came out (I also remember hearing "Star has to instant airdash now, he's screwed." although I wasn't sure what they were getting at.), and now look at the videos - Litchi looks fine, and there's even some really fascinating stuff out there. Some adjustments, some practice are needed, but she's still Litchi, although when I play CS2 I feel like I'll have to master CORNER RAEP or else I'm going to get trashed. That's not really a specific complaint against Litchi, though. It means I need more time playing CS2. I'm having a big problem defending against Platinum's overheads and everything involving her May-like Heart Ride. In fact, a lot about platinum reminds me of May...Damn I want to play Guilty Gear again soon...
  19. CS only forum? First is tribute - nothing really wrong with that - I figured it was related. If it's not allowed then I'll remove. I linked the second as an example. (couldn't find any others)
  20. Well, I guess that's what I get for trying to remember.
  21. Last word on Hakumen: He's always (first encountered it in CS) been able to counter All Green, from air or ground, and teleport Litchi - so pay attention, or else THIS COULD BE YOU.
  22. I have to wonder what the percentage of proficient or good Litchis actually is - since the Litchi population is smaller. (might get smaller after CS2 - looks to me I was worried for nothing). Are Litchis usually better at their own than others are at theirs? I must watch all these videos. Must absorb...
  23. Do not be ashamed of D-pad, my friend. D-pad is an ancient art - not easily mastered. Especially on bad D-pads.
