Star-Demon seeks THE BlazBlue weekly Podcast
Star-Demon replied to Star-Demon's topic in BlazBlue Online Play
Okay - It's friday. if Tournament wins shows up: We do advanced topics. If not: Relaxed discussion? Wanna talk about getting better? Problems in your game? -
At least they've reduced the amount of sneakers they post. +R is taking too long. Period. I don't mind continuing to work on AC, but it's not the "final version", and while I still have doubts I'm doing myself any good by playing AC right now, I would like to move on to play the version that's been out for months now. GG doesn't require localization - it requires porting, publishing and distribution on PSN, and of course it requires a netplay feature and performance patch. I want my EZMODO block-dodging character to have her FB Tatamis already!

Extend suffered from numerous spelling, grammatical and localization errors and had hasty recasting of parts. Some lines were not even localized. There's a like one or two lines where Litchi is speaking in Japanese. -

Can't get people this week due to UMAD. Maybe do something casual? What can we do that's fun but develops us? -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ3OLmIJbRw Shoutouts to Zidane and SKD. Apologies to Eevee - I didn't even play at Netplay level and I didn't really talk to you (or anyone, really). I'm sorry I'm in your top 5 and didn't give you a satisfying match. (I didn't get myself any satisfying matches!) Shoutouts to having no control during any of my matches - holy shit - typing with boxing gloves on. Shootouts to losing to a platinum I know I could have beaten. Okay - look - I've made 3 decisions coming off this one: Decision 1: I'm only going to play on the controllers I actually play on - this PS2 shit is NO FUTURE, and it shows because I've performed better at Guilty Madness and my first NL visit. I didn't know I didn't have to mod my PS3 Wireless to play legally in tourney. Forget this piece of shit. I understand why Cookie walked out of that first tourney. Feeling like I have no control over the character I worked hard on worse than netplay is absurd and stupid. Decision 2: I'm not longer participating in tourneys until I can stop turning myself inside out during a match. Tourneys are clearly poisoning my mind and not preparing me or helping me get better - they only add to the pressure to improve and show you guys I've been working to improve, and I'm not showing you anything but losses and making myself lose even more. I'm sending myself to casuals and staying there until I can be competitive. Decision 3: I'm never attending an offline event because I scheduled it or because I said I would. I'm only going because I absolutely have the money and desire to go and that I want be there that day. Forcing myself to go because I said I would is poisonous. I hope these things change the situation for the better. IF anyone has anything to say at length PM me or hit me up on Skype. -
You forgot to list Lordknight as OUT OF THE GUILD. :stickbug:

Unreal 3's been adapted to a lot of poor tasks over its life . I can think of a few examples in my head of games which wasted its abilities and structure, not really having a lot of understanding of it. (EX: Adapting it to render a very large seamless world) Ultimately, though, the people that throw around criticism at Unreal 3 are the same lot who probably thought they could license Unreal 3 and have their game auto-done, resulting in the bad games that served as examples of unreal 3 and so the circle goes on. I think Unreal 3 is more than capable to render and play a game inside a fighting game stage. I think anyone that has the standard tools of the trade can make it happen. -
No, absolutely not! GG is my big Penis game full of manly skill and casuals can go play baby BB with their little peepees! Anyways - I'm just going to stay on course with fairly presenting and repping my games to players and hope they feel they can improve well and have an actual spot in the community where they are legitimate and recognized. I can't control the community they want to join, for sure, but it is what it is and I present it to them clearly and fairly.

This game will never meet your expectations. You will never be satisfied with it. You will continue to dump on BlazBlue just because. Please proceed back into the woodwork. Anyways - I don't think adding/changing up an input buffer or putting in a few more input polling patterns would hurt the game or community. If you seriously are flouting your ability to push exact buttons at high speed over netplay or offline as mastery of the game then not only is that laughable but arrogant and ignorant and disrespectful to the game. Execution isn't just buttons to me - It's spacing those buttons, timing those buttons, moving your character around and using those buttons. GG and KOF are considered high execution, but they aren't considered deep or competitive because of it. If the crux of competition is "who's gonna drop input first" then don't you think that'd be a bit screwed up? (precisely why KOF13 gets dumped on as a combo game) I know you guys want a competitive game. I think many games should be designed so they can be competitively played. But to me? About 80% of this thread looks like someone trying to protect their personal turf - and so far many of the responses look like selfishly-disguised excuses to protect themselves. We've already descended into a typical MMORPG argueboarding about what casuals want and how they should just play BB, for christ's sake. Nevermind that we want them to play GG - no - send them to a game that you have nothing else to do but shit on. Brilliant. They are building a new GG game for the modern era, where the expectations and functionality are higher. You need it to play online. You need it to play in arcade. You need it to play on console. You need it to be competitive, faithful to the original, and expanded to include characters and developments in the franchise. You need it to have modes, content and functionality that have been brought by newer games. Yes, this may require an input buffer and some new input shortcuts - things that Marvel, Blazblue, Persona and skullgirls might have. Or they can release a product only 0.5% of you will play - each copy should cost an absurd amount to recover the cost of production. CHOOSE. Accept it or go home! -

Sorry - changed my mind. Not feeling this tonight. I don't know who EMP LORD KNIGHT is but I wasn't in the mood to deal with it.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Star-Demon replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
This thread is becoming much more trollable. The temptation is like a big juicy steak. Lemme try to be serious, though. People I talk to and try to get into the game locally don't want to get involved in "the game" for several reasons. And let's be honest - this game was widely available and easy to get for anyone with a PS2. You can take it anywhere if you had a slim and two pads. So why was GG dead? After trying hard to get people to play with me and others, I've concluded that - in some ways - the game and community make this mixture that tells a lot of people "Sorry, you'll be much better off being a fraud in marvel and smash". If I want to get people into the game I have to make them feel they absolutely have a place to be who they are with the level they are at, and that kinda sucks for me and them, but it gets butts in the seats next to me. I cannot get anyone to go with me or try to play where I want to play, though. The moment I mention it for GG, and not really BB or Persona - the mood gets negative. Some of you guys will undoubtedly write these guys off, and in recent conversations some of you already have prematurely expelled them from the community. Why? What is the problem? It's not just a problem with GG, but the whole of Anime - I see it as a big problem, but GG has it the worst, IMO. We should take +R and Xrd to be a big chance for the community and game. There's so many people we can get into this and want to get into this but they need proper guidance and sense of belonging. I don't think it has to do with the mechanics as much as the use of them. If anything - I'd say take a serious look at Slashback. FRCs are not a big deal, but they aren't created equal for sure. Input polling in game engine should also be looked at. The move list needs to list all the moves and label them clearly. The game needs tutorials that work well and challenges that provide practical insight into the character's moves. -
I might play tonight.

What impact has GG, BB, or P4A had on you in real life?
Star-Demon replied to Dark Ranger88's topic in Zepp Museum
I spent my 20's on videogames and now I'm fat, ugly and old and still bad at videogames. Counter Strike EverQuest Tribes 2 Tribes Vengeance Battlefield 2 City of Heroes World of Warcraft Everquest 2 Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Battlefield 2142 Team Fortress 2 Global Agenda MUGENNNNNN BlazBlue Guilty Gear King of Fighters Star conflict and many many more... BUT I have a neat family guild and Old people guild. I also got into shoutcasting and lots of other hobbies. Sometimes people say I'm helpful! If I didn't have videogames I'd have no other way to get my competitive fix. FGs was a good choice compared to FPS, and I've gone to bat for the FGC: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb157/starsickle/Whatstarsaid_zpsf52321da.png I wish I made money on all this, though! DONATE PLS! -
BGs Pile bunkah. I don't know why you have to be so disrespectful just because I'm bad - I don't know how you expect me to improve if you act like a jackass the whole time. Yuu must either be damaged or really trying to see how thick my skin is.

I tried Unreal 3 at some point, and I've done some work in 3D models and rigging - TBH this did not take as long as some of you would think. -

I would like to see new characters, for sure. -
There were a couple of points where I was comboing - I lagged hard and saw I was going to dropped and converted to something else. A lot of times I end up getting the mystical non-hatsu start.
-
I tried to go in more - I got mixed results. I still blank out.

Yeah I don't understand what's with jumpbat when you know they won't move...
