Why would you hate 2002UM? I really don't get the wanking over 98 and then the spitting on 2002/UM...

Not sure if I should make a big push or rest up. Games later maybe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0JYZ0G6UVc

[CP] Litchi Faye Ling - Gameplay Discussion (Read first post!)
Star-Demon replied to Lord Knight's topic in Archive
They've changed it, but no one has posted explicit details - unless it's hidden someplace. If anyone has the facts please post and paste into a stickied thread. Not for nothing, I'd love to study up this game just to have a bigger body of knowledge so I skip FIGURE IT OUT and go right to DO BETTER, but I really cannot follow all these threads post-for-post anymore. we need compile and organize what we know now. Word of mouth is my current best means of learning facts about this game. BTW What do you guys think about 5C[e]? -
Wow Moy broke Daisy? You should be ashamed.

No homework, just Good old FIGURE IT OUT and DO BETTER:

No, I just hoard PMs and infraction messages. I deleted some stuff - should be fixed.

Clark was godlike at first but the only clarks left are Coopa and Hellpockets.

I'm sorry to have derailed GGs thread, but I really don't have anywhere else to discuss this, since no one will discuss anything with me and we're already on it. I'll re-rail myself after this, we can continue in PM or some other forum: Litchi - Very creative, multifaceted and flexible character - can accommodate many styles, has the most room for creativity and is very deep and useful. I like pretty much everything about her, and even though Extend is very close to CT difficulty I'm starting to like/appreciate it. Among a lot of problems, everyone seems to waver between saying she is hard and saying she is easy, and a lot of opinions about her are conflicting - I don't know who I should believe or where the truth lies. There is not sufficient discussion over what skills need to be drilled or what prerequisites are needed for anyone to develop themselves as a player. There's no list and no plan. There are just bad litchis and good litchis, and Litchis in general are expected to always be very good. What's frustrating to me is that - if i were to prod them for - the reasons people want me to quit Litchi would automatically disqualify me from learning any other character. Saying I should change implies that they think I have the skills to take elsewhere, but the way I'm talked about seems to say I should just quit FGs altogether because I'm not suited to play FGs period. When I see that I take my training as a challenge to not be defeated by the community. When people can clearly identify my own strengths and weaknesses without hyperbole or cliche and then help me form an actionable plan, I would have a better map to learn my own character and would stick to it. I have no actionable plan anymore, and I've been taking time to form one amidst a lot of both vocal and silent negativity. Just once - I'd love to see a person be like "You can master this character, and here's how we're going to do it." I'd do that shit without question of comment. Okay, I'm done - Anything else PM me - I want serious and meaningful conversations and less FGC hyperbole, because it's only confusing me and only results in me having meltdowns. I don't want to do that anymore. I'm trying to do right by being unbanned and working on myself to stay unbanned.

Says the person that is telling me to stop playing my character - a character that I really like. I'm trying not to Yay or Nay anything - I just said what I thought it was going to take to switch to those characters. I pretty much listed the price I have to pay, from my POV...

I played him a lot in CT. I'm not sure if he still plays. Haven't heard from anyone I played CT with in forever.

I will consider every character right now: Ragna: You can't make it past scrub level unless you have a deep understanding of the game and other players because even though he has "simple" tools and stuff, you just go right back to "you should pick another character". I don't know how you expect me to show up to NL as a serious Ragna, even in two more years until I get myself out of scrub level. These characters come with a big wall that pretty much determines where you want to stay - very very few people get through it, I think. Jin: I've put a couple hours into Jin but it'll be a very long time before I understand how to use the character because he relies a lot on resets and advanced techniques to hit people and do damage to them all match. I won't a have good understanding about his normals for a long time. Hazama: probably above my execution level. I don't like hop characters, either. Character seems to be made for beating up bad players. Tager: Same. Noel: Fraud character, rewarded for bad behavior because she otherwise doesn't have to play the game - what will that teach me? Really? Mu - Fraud character. Hakumen - Doesn't have to play the actual game. Arakune - Same. Tao - Also above my execution level. She has to play the game but like good Bangs, good Tao players actually look like they aren't playing the game at all. It's kinda silly looking. Bang - I tried learning CT bang but never got far. I like Bang because he doesn't have a DP and I'm used to that in Real Honest Fighters, but while Bang is easier in this version it seems far too many people understand how to play against him so I have to be just as good as very good players to succeed and play at a level that isn't as bad as the level I play at now. Akira was pretty disgusted at my Bang. My Bang is unmentionable to people who know me and want me to try other characters. It'll be a very long time to learn the character at a level that is passable. Platinum - Gimmicky. I don't like her character design, either. I wouldn't play her unless I put a paper bag over my head and learned a whole lot of stuff from Moy and Xie for a long time. Valk - The best character in the game that no one plays. I don't think I could protect myself well enough on Valk to make use of his mobility and offense. It'll be years before I understand his normals and specials and get the mixup, spacing and neutral necessary to win. Rachel - I really respect this character but I need to think more about the inventory of skill sets you need to succeed with her - I don't think I fit the archetype or skill set. Carl - Too flighty for Carl - requires probably as many situations and as many if not more execution than Litchi, but Carl is much more flexible and consistently rewarding because he comes with his own corner. Lambda - I can't help thinking Lambda is a character for beating up bad players, even though she improved this version. Maybe I played too much vs SkinreaperW and I only see very few as legit and myself as incapable of having the neutral to stop losing so much vs an easy win. Relius - Why play a character that you guys say is "a bad version of Litchi".? For real - I never see any good reliuses so it's probable I won't see any success unless I really master the character beyond 90% of the BB community. Makoto - Only reason I would play her is because she has to get in and is most dangerous staying in. If only everyone didn't consider her a trash character and a free win. I'd have to be as good as Omni - TBH not the best example of behavior to draw from. Tsubaki - If she had better tools and more streamlined move set I'd give her another chance. I like her character but you have to have excellent fundamentals to not be free as fuck. I'd rather wait for a future version. Izayoi - Since I'm just running through characters...I don't know what to think of her yet. I don't watch vids of her. I'm interested, since I dig Lawful Good something hard. (*also, screaming EKUSUU KARIBAAAAAAAAA at tourneys) Azreal - Not really interested in Slayer, so not really in Azreal. Amane - Not really doing it for me.

I don't know why you guys think I will have success with other characters:

GGs everyone that visited! I guess you can't carry a good day all day, but I was very sharp this morning and thought I could go home and be sharp. I made a lot of confirming mistakes and forgot about a lot of stuff. Shoutouts for Akira Shiro visiting and giving critique. I really liked the idea although I often was trying to tune him out during a match (in order to focus) - maybe the formatting needs work, but it wasn't really about coaching more than comments I guess. I'd like to try something like this again sometime.

BB open room going up - special guest tonight! AKIRA-SHIRO? http://twitch.tv/starsickle/

Not username, a new avatar - And I am not as salty as Cookiehours, Jyosua, or AKira-Shiro. They are Lords of Westeros and Defenders of The Salt

I obviously need a new avatar.
