All that being said - I can't wait to see who Litchi costume-rapes next in their joke ending.

When you construct a setting and a world and you have messages or themes you want to convey you have to be prepared to treat it like it's real. In the real world, people have sex - AND they have sexual desires and needs! In the real world, people kill each other. In the real world, people have intrusive thoughts. But they also get disgusted, they also get angry, sad, they feel frustrated or paralyzed. Sometimes they feel a sense of mission or purpose. These can offer both comedic and dramatic effects. Now - this is all well and good, but what Anime has been doing quite a bit lately - IMO of course - is abusing these ideas, which are, sadly, a reflection of modern Japanese preoccupations and concerns. People desire sex and intimacy but feel socially and culturally chained to each other, causing mistrust and anxiety. So then you get all this incestuous or otherwise taboo sexual tension - usually played for comedy, but underneath is a serious cry for intimacy with others that no one seems to get. Now - should BlazBlue have these things? Yes. If we classify BB as Light novel material (which it is, quite literally), then an adolescent to adult audience is in mind. Characters fall in love, have children, experience extreme and abstract tortures and suffer. Some experience quite complicated longing or loneliness - that's all grownup material - in fact, I'd say grownups like me only learn to appreciate some of these situations it more over time, and would have brushed it off as stupid when I was younger. So - the TL;DR version of what I'm trying to say is that There's a line between adding adult or risque material for the sake of moving the story or characters along and being Gratuitous, which doesn't have any dramatic/comedic purpose. It's just there because sick fanservice.

I'm having a big expensive problem concerning importing and I want to ask: What do you think I could get done in about 4 months of BB? As for netplay: I want to stream today and tonight.

Wow, shit just comes out of the woodwork... Look, if something is going to be banned just enforce a character specific macro glitch. If you can spot it, punish them for doing it. Simple. There's no need to punish tons of pad players. Just none. TD is right - people are blowing it out of proportion.

I suddenly realized something while talking over twitter about recent things: Some threads sometimes lose their way or require mods to step in a lot and redirect discussion back on topic, but the topic is long since lost or not longer relevant to the thread or current game. For general threads and news and general gameplay discussion threads, we should find some kind of way to judge when it's time to start a new thread and try to keep it open until there's some kind of game-changer to the general conversations. Either in months, pages, or post count. This would do a few things: 1. Shorter threads are easy to scan historically. We can argue with each other better when finding ideas or quotes. 2. Mods will have less work, won't have to step in and cause a mess, nor clean one up. 3. Shorter threads are just easier to manage. Implementing this on the general gameplay discussion (and netplay) threads regularly would hone a lot of conversation and make things much easier to find. Thoughts?

Look guys - I'm gonna be real with you right now - both sides are in the wrong: The Man's response to this whole thing was unprofessional and grossly inconsiderate towards what should be Dustloop's mission of growing the interest and quality of the Anime FGC. I hold you all to high standards - some of the attitudes shown in this thread and surrounding this discussion suggest a complete disinterest in having a more successful or truly competitive community. I'm calling out you guys on bad behavior. In the future, you should either discuss this more honestly with the community you are serving or handle it more professionally. The Aggrieved party's response to this was also bad. You should know better than to be doing this shit like spamming and retaliating. Your behavior sucks, too. Despite that, there's some good points being brought up, here. Let's learn from this. This community can be better and it doesn't involve getting rid of people or making sure X, Y, or Z kind of people stay out. "Please do not be interested in our site, please use another one." is not something that should ever, ever be suggested in anyone's speech. Anyone that talks like this just outed themselves. It's WORK to grow and maintain a community. Good members don't fall out of the sky. They are discovered, made, cultivated, and maintained. As for Chubaki - It's locked. I'm not sure what kind of precedent this will set for the future, but I hope an honest and polite discussion about this can take place.
