Actually I noticed that too, but when I tried making some combos it didn't really prorate very well damage wise, so I guess it can be left for of his flashy combos lol

EDIT: This is the combo thread, I derped :c Since this is detracting from the actual thread, I'll post some stuff for combo theory. Earlier I was playing around in training and noticed that the 5B FC 5C OMB can work midscreen. Obviously there's a lot of stuff that you can do after it, but the 2C 2B works if you do a microdash. Gets pretty good damage regardless of meter, so if you happen to get a 5B FC midscreen and have a burst, you could probably go for it. Though nearly all of Aki's combos net like 4k minimum if you have 50 meter lol.

Well Kanji can still anti-air command grab you out of it lol. If he reads you you get manhandled by his persona :d I don't think his hop is useless though, especially since it technically let's you "jump cancel" moves you wouldn't normally be able to. Plus you can kill rush cancel the short hop, which I just learned from the Q&A thread lol

Yeah, his loops are really easy once you get the hang of them. Or have one of those combo epiphanies where you're like "ohhh that's how you do it" lol. P4A also makes it easy since akihiko barely has any directional input normals at neutral. He really only has 2B and 2C (which is almost the same as 5C), so you don't have to worry about letting go of the forward input when you do microdash 5B.
