  2. shoutouts to "BOOM HEAD SHOT" lol shoutouts to getting 4th in bb somehow shoutouts to Pizza Hut™ shoutouts to OD > j6d > auto curse > reset > win lol ggs to everyone I played. Wish I played more matches with jerms, that Mu player (before the power went out), and glitch. I'm just glad to have finally made my true debut in showing/representing myself and my Arakune in a CT local for the first time. Will definitely be back for the one in August before summer is over and university owns me. x_x
  3. I could have sworn i've seen J.c combo into C bug without A bug many times. 5a > 2a > A Bug > 5a > j.C (confirm) + a bug > c bug > d bug (buffered?) IS this what you mean? I have been doing this instead but don't you think that kinda just give it away if you're tapping 5A during pressure, which pretty much tells the opponent "Hey, i'm buffering A bug with 5A so I will go for a mix up right about....NOW!"? I mean I can mix it up with 66 cross up > b bug > mix up normal, 4b low, etc. but I feel this helps alert the opponent a lot more. Are you sure NEing is not necessary?
  4. Ok, so here's a nooby ass question regarding something I just realized/figured out after several months of playing. -______- So I just realized j.C>C bug does not combo together without buffering the C bug. Very upset since I was so used to tapping C believing this would always work but it's not even possible. I suspected this for sometime thinking I needed A bug to confirm with my instant overhead in order to confirm C bug. But of course I did not even have to do that nor would that even possible 100% of the time since I am planning on mixing up my midscreen blockstrings with a/b bugs. This discovery has led me to believe Arakune is so much harder to use than I thought. But then again, I still can't do double j.d consistently and the Iad barrier midscreen combo off of 6b>j6d is still something I have yet to been able to do. -___- Very bummed out about this and I hope I can make up for it asap. THIS IS WHY BBCP NEEDS A "DO NOT BLOCK OVERHEAD" FEATURE IN TRAINING MODE!!! >.< One hour in, and already calling it a day here. Anyways my question is, am I really supposed to hold c/d bug while pressuring midscreen with 5A > 2A > a bug? Am I supposed to let go of C bug before or as I do the j.C overhead? How do I manage to get the C bug to summon itself on the opponent without summoning it far behind the opponent as I do j.C? I also see Arakune players either let go of D bug ONLY IF THEY CONFIRM while others manage to release it immediately. Are they even buffering the D bug or pressing it? Can I have a notation as if, let's say, I were to approach a locked down opponent with forward dash for example. When releasing a/b bugs to keep opponent in place, do I buffer C bug as I dash for the pressure? What about D bug? I'd appreciate an explanation/help. Thanks
  5. Saw who I am probably facing. Opportunity for revenge in tournament match. >=)
  6. I don't play rank matches. I don't know how to show off my capabilities/potential for candidacy as a team mate and i'd really wanna get in this. Anyone need a team mate?
  7. In the Arakune 2014 playlist I created, I updated it with 1.1 Arakune videos starting with the 1.1 combo video (VIDEO 39). http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7GWHowa-d3xiRz8MfnD2DFWn_pBX__CO I'll admit, the representation for Arakune has taken a huge dive. I guess the changes were not enough to satisfy. I'll watch all the videos to see exactly why.
  8. Glad to hear you have been making an effort in improving with a goal. I have spent the last several months attending monthlies at NYC Next level tournies and have been placing better and better (0-2, 1-2, 2-2, and recently 3-2) so I guess that's a good thing and I hope this helps me prepare for my EVO pool/matches. I get this gut feeling I might choke though. Bad match ups/counterpicks can be a bitch and I have ah ard time maining more than one characters due to time/just sucking at learning more than one character. lol If I manage to see some of you at EVO, i'll look forward to some casual Mirrors and maybe risky AraKune MMs lol. I'll be in a vegas mood so i'll defintely be challenging several players in MMs. Hopefully I can record the matches. :D
  9. So Skye and I are confirmed dustloop AraKune's going to EVO. Anyone else? Anyways, after watching more videos posted here, I must say that you guys should really get over your tournament nerves because some of these decisions and mistakes you all make during a match are very questionable. Hence why i'll be nice and just consider the fact that it may be the nerves coming into play...but then there are things I see that I will have to call out. First video: - If you have your opponent in a blockstring, continue it and try to end it with a jump or teleport cancelable normal or use 5D if you don't have enough range to reach with 2B. I'll admit, I sometimes find myself whiffing 2b so i'll just leave it at that. Also, don't 2B and keeping poking with that. Extend the blockstring with 5B> 5D, 5A, 5D, 2C, 2D, or teleport - Don't 3C on block and just take the punish. Teleport or equals zero immedeately to keep up the momentum and stay neutral at least. - You anti air'd azrael with your back to the corner...The situation couldn't have been any better and there could have been a potential for a comeback. Yet, you decided to go for the j.2b ender rather than j.2a, which is something you should do if you only did 5C > j.a > j. c rather than j.a > j.b > j.c. Reason being is because J.2a allows you to get the favorable position (your opponent in the corner, cursed). If you dive canceled, you then proceed with 5d (wallsplat) > 66 > 6b > j .6d > 6d. Now, even if the j 2b did hit, you only get a measley 30% increase in curse meter and you're still stuck in the corner unless you wall teleport and go back to neutral with very little health. - Did you drop the wall splat combo by just doing 5D? Why? what happened? Because that retry was extremely risky and that could have been avoided if you did 5d > equals zero > 6b> j6d > 6d. ANOTHER lost full curse attempt. - Ok you finally got Azrael in Curse after two failed attempts and one extremely risky attempt that gave it to you. Now it's time for your curse corner game...Well, at least you did a+b after 5D...But... 1. You let go of A bug too early, which could have given Azrael a changce to air tech away from the corner, making bug pressure a lot more of a headache than it should be. I mean come on...Your opponent is cursed in the corner. You MUST AND SHOULD BE in control. 2. Other than letting go of a bug too early, even if you did it on time...where's the c/d bugs? Keep in mind that growler does not activate in mid air so if your intention was to keep him in the air with A bug and lock him towards the ground with b/c/d bugs then good try. But you really need to work on your mix up if you are hoping to get any where with confirming that curse combo. Try not to buffer D bug with 2/3d and use 2c, 214c. In fact, hold D after 5D and C after 2C. There, you have bugs at your disposal to release towards azrael. - Learn how to block against Azrael because you seem to be clueless in that aspect and kept getting hit by his overheads and mix ups. You kept backdashing away which kinda gets you away but Azrael can catch up and the best that can happen for you is another blockstring to block. - I'll forgive the total fuck up of that first rep of the curse combo, because that Azrael player did not know how to block and kept mashing to do something on wake up like...all the time and i'm glad he is getting blown up for it...But you decided to end the curse combo with f-inverse? Why!?!?! The damage scale should be ridiculous at that point of the combo and Azrael was not gonna die at the rate his health was deteriorating. You should have ended the curse combo differently to get a head start with Oki and curse meter like 5D > d bug 2 > 22c > 6A > 6B > 6D. He would have growlered, you would have waited, and BAM! Punish for another curse. - 2:58 in the video, that was not gonna happen. If you want to keep him in the corner and want to keep the offensive post-curse, you should have 6b > 6D to keep bell bug above him. - Dont 6D up close like that ever. Second Set: - Now you decide to play keep away and zone him with cloud, bell bug, and j.d stuff. Good idea! - Now that curse game mid screen...a/b bug approach is ok but you need to find a better option to buffer the bugs as you approach. also, your opponent was too far from the corner to start release those C/D bugs. This all together kept you from from starting anything off in this round. - F-inverse > 6b > IAD j 6d > j6c > j6c > j236c. Just saying. - Play more conservatively and try not to throw out 2C out of nowhere like that and make sure azrael is grounded and you have meter to rapid if he blocks low. - Practice your midscreen and corner curse combos and try to find some viable ways to confirm your opponent into curse combo. - Learn when to 2a, as in only during a blockstring or very close in neutral or mixup curse. 5A should be your go to poke. Try to get used to that, especialy 5a>2a mixups. You'll eventually confirm. -In general, anti air more. Fourth Video: - If you see Tsubaki charge full screen, 22C or IAD J 6d. You can also take the time to set bell bug out and do 22C in mid air as well. But careful with the way you set 6D or just about anything up if she is running towards you. Be the first to zone her and keep her out to do so. - anticipate the charge through move, block it without pressing any buttons, and 5A punish. This tsubaki could have gotten blown up so many times. -when you learn how to block against Tsubaki and learn about the gaps in her combos that give you the chance to not only escape but take the offensive away from her with a simple 5A poke, this match up will be much more manageable. 2A is too slow. - Use a and b to get up during curse to get automatic curse pressure against opponent if all they do is stand over you. - use 214b to dodge possible dp and get a free punish if dodged successfully. Keep in mind not to do this too much or so predictably. - Use j6a to buffer a bug to continue blockstring and if you're at an awkward, mid range distance from opponent - You got air grabbed four times in the beginning of the 5 rounds of this set....four times in this set. This tsubaki player had no respect and you did not even close that option from the player. Try sj a, sjb, or anti air 5C. - Do 214c to avoid a full screen requiem maledictus. Of course, tsubaki can catch on to this and air dash toward where you supposedly teleported from but i'm sure the tsubaki player would have been flustered and lost.
  10. "64 People" "Damn...When is this gonna happen again?" "Next weekend" "Shit...gotta practice. -_-" And not to make up excuses but...I felt my performance was sloppy at the first online tourny because I was very sick that night and had no idea why I felt so fatigued and nauseous until morning when my body totally just gave up on me. LOL I'll try to do better if I make it on stream. Good luck in advance to everyone. :D Also, is there a bracket yet?

  12. Real Question is: Does Anyone want me as a partner? Arakune Main.
  13. I'll do one at a time. I only seen the first two videos so I will critique from those. I am still learning MUs in this game in depth so my knowledge of them are pretty limited and linear, so bare with me. But here are a few things that I have caught from your Arakune play: - I suggest you work on your confirms and combo a bit more so you can remain consistent in a real match. You actually dropped a CH 2a > 2c…That’s not good at all. Sure, it may have been tournament nerves and I can totally understand that…but consistency is important. Dropping a combo pre curse is very crucial in BBCP. Setting up drive moves is a hassle than ever if you don’t know how to play neutral well or play an opponent that now how to get around and stuff you. Hence why you should not set cloud up without having a purpose afterwards or knowing where your opponent is going. - You IAD j.4b way too much and predictably than you should. Please work on your movements and how you’ll descend differently before going for continuous IAD’s. You’re just giving your opponent a hint on how to time their anti air against you. IAD off of jump cancellable normals, IAD on your second jump after cloud, 9>7>IAD jb, etc. Some ideas for you. - You kept getting stuffed by Litchi every time she gets up….like, every time. This litchi player was not even respecting you at all at that aspect of the match. - Regarding the match up itself, know what do against Litchi depending on her staff placement from full screen. This is the key to playing the match up, and knowing how to get around the stage and staff when facing her. Stay away from Mid range and just keep the offense when you are up close. - Your curse game needs work. First off, don’t use up your c and d bugs to lock down an opponent midscreen. You should only use C/D bugs for combos, resets, and corner curse pressure. Just use a and b bugs only and it should do what you want. Buffer them by doing j.6a/b, forward dashing, during 214a, etc. you were just going crazy with the bugs hoping for one out 4 of them to hit but the other bugs would have messed up the d bug confirm anyway. Take it one step at a time. Work on your mid screen confirms after you figure all that out. Here’s one very basic way to confirm into d bug like you want: 5A>5A>a bug>5B>b bug>j6a>dj6a>236c>c/d bugs. Also, about your midscreen combos…you seem like you don’t know what you want to do and just start throwing out air normals. Continue the combo. You’re in full control. Don’t go rushing around if opponent is in curse and be careful with the way you use up your bugs. - You really need to make the most out of pre curse combos. When you got Litchi in wall splat, you only did 6b>j6d>6d into like no Curse….Here’s an idea:wall splat>5d>236b>6b>j6d>6d>CURSE. - I see you doing 6c>6c>3c pre curse and even during curse when opponent is still blocking….Why? Please do less, if not very very little of that, especially at close range in the middle of your opponent’s pressure. - Don’t go for too many purple throws, especially when you can do something off of certain things like f-inverse.You could have easily taken that match against Hakumen if you went for 6b>j6d without having to take the game back to neutral - Keep Hakumen away, allow him to approach you so you can capitalize on the curse meter and approach him cautiously when on the offensive. Don’t play him close up at all or let him get the offensive on you at all. Just keep away and space at the same time. If you have him cursed, it’s a pretty bad idea to just throw everything out at him so he can counter super your bugs.Hence why you must learn how to approach with bugs. Keep your distance when locking him down. And don’t challenge him in the air. AA him, evade, or just block if he’s too close. Now don’t get me wrong, you got the right ideas and I did like some of corner combos and the cute little IAD j. 4b > 6c>6c>3c, which I think I’ll try when I feel like being whacky or want to end match with style.…but you must work on being consistent and conservative when playing with Arakune. With Arakune, you using your movement to fake your opponent and confuse them. Work on a solid neutral and you’ll be set along with the other advice I give you.
  14. 1. When someone beats me once and leaves. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS!!! D:< 2. When I want to run it back and someone takes my arcade spot in lobby. D:<
  15. Hold every button before 5D except for B while doing and ending the combo. Then release all buttons (6A,6C,6D) once opponent lands. Try not to release A bug in the corner to avoid the possibility of hitting your opponent out of stun from 5D with A bug. Your opponent may be able to air tech escape the corner. However, the combonation of bugs depends on the combo you are doing so what combos are you talking about because i'm assuming that it is 6b>j.6d>j6c>djc>j2a>dc>6d>2c(hold C)>5d (hold D)>a+b (hold A) move. I'll assume this is all happening in the corner. From 4b, it depends. Is your opponent blocking/getting hit by C&D bugs and your 4B? On block, release b bug with the stick at neutral position or 6 to continue mixup and pressure. On hit, let the second part of d bug launch opponent for an air follow up like j.236C. Release the b bug and make sure it whiffs under you and your opponent then continue the curse combo with C&D bug or whatever. From J.C overhead, quickly move stick to j. 3, let go of C, and then tap j. 3CD. It will buffer the bugs towards opponent during the J. 2C move.
  16. Hey, I'm no pro, but I'd be glad to help you get the basics down and start you off so you can do at least decently since it's takes time to get better. I can even give you things to practice in training mode and what to watch out for in your replays. However, where are you located? Do you have skype? I got a PS3 just for this game and still have no mic. lol
  17. GGs to everyone so far. Will be on all night. I have to learn how to block against carl. -_-
  18. It is all based on timing and knowing how long it takes for the c bug to become active (after 40 frames of Start up). If timed properly, once you let go of C after inputting j236c, it should take about a second for C bug to come out and catch opponent on confirm. Let go of the C button around the time arakune starts to fall towards the ground. Try practicing that before going for a follow up off of C bug in training mode so you can get the hang of it. Then you will have your own preferred timing for curse combos you want to go for. Also, make sure you are letting go of C bug depending on the position of the stage (Back against the corner = ]5c[ for example, all else = ]6c[)
  19. Allow me to actually play someone from here. I'll be on all night tonight.
  20. Great tourny! Shoutouts and GGS to everyone I played in tournament and casuals. Better turnout than I thought. I wish I had a car so I can make the Friday tournies after work. I guess Saturdays will have to do, but that's fine. Traveling from CT + venue/pot = $$$$$ either way Thank you DaiandOh and St1ckbug for hosting these events. Keep it up! I'll spread the word for the Next saturday tournie in my dead ass area.
  21. Does anyone in CT go to Next Level TSB tournies? Anyone going to April 12th tournie?
  22. GGs to everyone I played using my least fav match ups. This is an on going struggle and learning experience. lol
  23. Yeah, i'll go to this. lol
