I'm having trouble with my full screen oki. It seems like a guessing game and I usually guess wrong. I just recently thought about using the 214B gravity well to make sure no one will forward tech air dash over to me and I have a better chance of catching them in a sickle storm if they're in a well. Is this a good idea? Another problem I'm having is I'll try and punish something with dash 2A or 2B and I'll get beat by something as simple as lambda's 5C. I'm not asking a character specific question, I just wanna know if I should just use 3C or something to punish something and take the Oki setup vs the attempt for more damage. My last question is I don't know what to do if I get to a full range 5C in my block strings. I feel like if they're mashing anything it'll beat any of lambdas command dash attacks or they just hold up back and jump over the spike chaser or out of the sickle storm. I wanna upload me playing to youtube so I can use the critique thread but I haven't been able to do that yet. So here I am asking questions that have probably already been answered. For that I am sorry XD

I'm still sticking by my 2b, omc mix up. It's just an expensive version of lambda's 2147D-C mix up. Which is pretty good IMO
-
you can use Garu. Stop getting pulled in and akihiko has to be very careful about punishing it. But at least you don't have to worry about 5D

Oh, by no means am I saying I want to replace Elizabeth mixups with Thanatos pressure. Ok, I end some combos in (D)Agi because I want my opponent to tech and stay locked down. I only do this if I didn't get Para in the combo. However, assuming they're moving toward me in the flames. I go for a jumping setup where I can do stuff like empty hop low, or AT., j.B, and a bunch of other stuff I'm sure everyone knows about. However, if they don't get hit right away I usually go into 2B, j.B reps and then try to get them into some Thanatos pressure. Since elizabeth's only jumping attack that hits high is j.A, which can't be done out of 2B. I OMC the 2B to get the quick j.5A and go into a combo. I'm just looking for options outside of Thanatos pressure but I am by no means trying to make her work without it. I have a fairly basic combo off it that does 3.2K with only 25 more meter and leads into a Agi setup.

I know Elizabeth has decent left-right mixups with j.B but I'm talking about her high low mixups. I've been playing with some friends and I find myself just keeping them in a block string until I build 100 meter and just start throwing out ex moves which don't always hit. So, I'm looking for stronger mixups. I'll still risk the 2B, jc., at., j.B. But since I do a lot of 2B, j.B, which does not hit high, I figured I'd catch them always blocking low and OMC the 2B into a j.A. It's an extremely fast overhead from the looks of it but it puts me just out of range for my 5AAA combos. Which is the cheapest way I know of to get fear and paralysis by only using 25 meter after the OMC.
-
j.B does not hit high so I don't think it's a good mixup. Also, I'm pretty sure you don't have enough time to dash after the j.A. Maybe in a fear combo it'll work, but not outside one
-
What's the combo? is it in the combo thread?
-
I don't know if this question has been answered already but what do you guys think about this OMC mixup: 2B, OMC, j.5A. I'm still learning Elizabeth's combo potential so I haven't yet found big damage off of it considering you don't build any meter for this combo.
-
What's Elizabeth's space control like? I figured it's be 214CD and 236A. And even then, I'm really just treating 214AB like Lambda's spike chaser and I hate 236A because there's next to you can do after it. If I'm mistaken pleas let me know. also I'm not sure if I want to have Elizabeth in their faces or Thanatos more I keep reading that she's a good zoner but I have no idea what she's supposed to do. And I've never seen a video where she's just dominating the spacing game. She seems to be entirely a momentum based characters with good normals. Is that true?
-
What happens if you whiff jumping 214a /b, like, what are your options? It doesn't seem like you can do anything after it. Or are they just for combos? What are the tools I should rely on for space control while she recharges?
-
If Aigis gets hit while her persona is in the counter state, does she disappear? I just want a way to make my opponent stay still while I run in. I know nothing is 100% safe so I'm shooting for 99% lol.
-
Thanks xlol If that's the case what is Elizabeth's game plan? Is she supposed to be rush down? I thought she had a very safe offensive game
-
I'm wondering, Thanatos has suck strong mixups on his own. But he seems extremely vulnerable of you don't confirm in the first or second hit and that it's only a matter of time before he's hit. Is there a way to defend him or call him back? I heard Elizabeth has a great keep away game but I'm running into that problem a lot. What should I be trying to do?
-
Thanks HexaNoid When I play lambda I like to throw spike chasers and catch my opponent in a 236D so I can start my mix up game safely. I'm not too worried about keep away but I'm wondering if Aigis has anything similar. When I found her move list I was hoping you could drop her persona and do 214C or 214D to have the same effect. However, i've never seen anyone ever use 214C or 214D. Is it a reliable move?
-
So Aigis uses her bullets for keeping her opponent out? Does she have tools for a safe approach? I really enjoy playing Lambda in BB because she has some good high low mixups with easy ways to get in and play keep away, I'm wondering if Aigis plays similar in that respect

You misunderstood my question. The situation is, you get cursed, you pop off 236236D then jump over Ignis so you're in front of her. Actually hitting Arakune is not the goal in this situation you're just running/waiting for the curse to end. If you were able to sit inside of the area where Ignis is swinging, would Arakune be able to pull you away from Ignis so he won't get hit by the distortion? Arakune can jump over her for all I care, now I have her back as a shield and the curse is wearing off. See what I'm saying?
-
Is it possible to wait curse out by hiding inside of 236236D? I don't think it'll last the entire curse but you could probably prevent them from doing an 8K combo or something. I'd test this myself but I know nothing about Arakune and curse other than if I get cursed I'm pretty much done for. But yeah, could you pop that off if you get cursed then jump where Ignis is swinging to force Arakune to wait out your distortion while his curse meter is going down? Or does he have a way in?

[CSE] Relius Clover Critique and Self-Improvement Thread
Judgemastar replied to Kurushii's topic in Archive
Alright, I'm hoping I improved, but can I get more pointers? http://www.twitch.tv/jyosua/b/312460519 I start at 10:10 and keep playing for a good while. Not asking for anyone to watch them all, just a match or two and give me some pointers. -

Alright, another question about approaching. I've yet to test this but I'm wondering if anyone else already knows the outcome. In most matches I use 214A then dash in to try and start pressure on my opponent. But their attack usually always seems to beat mine. So, would it be advisory to do a second 214A? What I'm hoping will happen is that my opponent will either hit or get hit by Ignis, then I jump in on them. At that point I'll be close enough for 6B to work and can pretty much do any combo assuming something landed a hit. If not I'd just start looking for a confirm. What might happen which happens to me a lot, is I'll go to bait an attack and punish it with j.2D. Instead, Ignis just gets hit and a second later Relius does too. Either way, this uses a good amount of Ignis's meter and doesn't leave much to do anything with. But that's beside the point. Does this work? Also, will dashing inside of 214A shield me from projectiles? Can I just 214A, dash, 214A, dash, 214A until I reach my destination? Or will the gap in 214A be the end of me? I'll find out more tomorrow when I can test it. But yeah, thoughts? Edit: so to answer my own question. It's safe against projectiles, but your opponent will probably hit ignis then you a second later. However, if you can figure out how to punish them for hitting Ignis, more power to you. I'm still working on that but Thanks to Jyosua and his stream, I was able to test that. -

This crossup is extremely weird. You can block it all by holding down back in whatever position you started in assuming you feigned the crossup (even after you've landed on the other side and started swinging). Ignis is the only one really in risk of being hit with 5A or something. There are other ways of getting to Relius but you'd have to know that crossup was coming. But yeah, due to some weird ass hitboxes, this crossup won't always work. -

What do you guys think of this... Assuming they block the 3C but... 3C, IAD, j.2D, 5B. Depending on the distance you're IADing out of your 3C will determine whether or not they'll have to block left or right. There are some problems with it but I'm finding it to be fairly effective. But yeah, I'm wondering if other people think that's effective or not. Also, sorry if this info has already been posted. -
If you bait hazama's chain, with Ignis out you can Led Ley, 6D and if they chose the D follow up, you'll counter hit. I'm currently testing out this matchup. I know you can't really counter hit him out of 214DC but your 5A will work nicely against 214DA. Don't mash anything out during a block string, cause 2B, 3C is a frame trap and will beat whatever you do. For this matchup, I recommend getting away from hazama long enough to get Ignis out. then wait for him to come flying in

What's the notation? This question is not directed at Chaoschao, so, What is the deadzone for 214A? When should you 5B or dash 5B instead? Also, I have a problem with people just blocking 214A then doing dash 5B or something to hit me before I hit them. I try doing 214A closer but I THINK they're in the deadzone and it's extremely unsafe to do that. One more thing, deadzone from what I understand is the space where the attack is extremely unsafe and risky, right? I hope my question is understandable. Final Question, has anyone been grinding matchups? Been craving info from the matchup threads. -

Alright, so having played lots of matches tonight, I noticed I defaulted to (Ignis Inactive) 5B, 5C, 236C, 214A on almost every hit confirm. I absolutely hate this combo outside of corners. I hate it cause I don't know to chase down my opponent and not blow all my Ignis meter. I'd do a different combo if I was confident 6B would actually link and if Ignis was already out. But in this scenario she's not. What should you do after 236C, 214A. Is there a better combo that can be done off of 5B at near max range?
