Pretty sure this is the St1ckbug combo. But yeah, I use this and love it to death. -

Just saying, since he only did empty hop 2B and j.DD, j.B. But yeah, that was a dumb question. -
I have problems with Ignis not being around when I need her. Tao is so fast and should you do something like 214B or 214A she can fly in and do what she wants. For the most part I try to nail her with 2C out of her block string, but it sometimes turns into 3C when she switches sides or something or i'm too slow and it gets counter hit. Once you're in it's nice though. But watch her meter cause after that she gains a reversal.
-
Right away I can tell you you don't want to throw out anything while on the ground with relius free or when ignis is anywhere near you. You'll get nailed. Which is extremely obvious but you can bait ignis by feigning a landing. When she's low on meter your risk factor decreases a bit.

How do you deal with her throwing her projectile at you in the corner? Can Relius punish it? is there something else he can punish that rachel genearally does in the corner? How do you escape Rachel corner pressure without spending meter?

That's such a nice mix up. But I still wanna see it used. Also, couldn't you empty jump j.DD? like, j.DD, land, 2B? I think it'd make the j.DD scarier -

Is there a trick to j.DD? I'm having a tough time landing the (falling) j.B or j.C. -

Down side to that is anyone can mash 2A and they'll hit her out of 214A. Maybe it's just the people I play with but they're always mashing and they're always using reversals. Which is why I'm so afraid of it. I don't quite understand what you're saying? Can't you easily get hit out of j.D, j.D? And do you only do this if you land the 3C? -
[CSE] Relius Clover Critique and Self-Improvement Thread
Judgemastar replied to Kurushii's topic in Archive
I'm not always sure when to use counter assaults and what to do after it any pointers for that? Also, what should I rapid, I always thought I was supposed to rapid 236C, put Ignis away, then haul ass to catch my falling opponent with 5B. But isn't a barrage of frame traps extremely unsafe against someone with a good reversal? Should I still go for frame traps? I'm definitely gonna practice the frame traps but what should I use in the string? and what should I use when dealing with someone with a reversal? One more thing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoCvY4T4cBk&feature=g-upl&context=G22c7ad3AUAAAAAAABAA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUn5KPErqv0&feature=g-upl&context=G2b9ee33AUAAAAAAAAAA They're matches from before I got the advice but I'd still like some pointers in these ones too. -

So just to clarify, we can post games of any skill level, correct? I know at lower levels you generally understand what you're doing wrong, and know ways to correct them. So should we not post games like that or is it acceptable? -
100% agree. And yeah, that size would be perfect. I'm sure the artists have better connections than I but I'll try and find all the required picutres.
-
umm, no. Unless the j.5C is barely hitting ragna, then it'll clash. But yeah, Ragna's 6A has upper body invincibility. You're not gonna beat it while you're attacking from the air.
-
I have no idea, When i'm able I wanna look at the footage and find out. I know for sure one had a TKj236C. But I really liked the combo and the way he handled bang. He might have won if he landed the 3C in the combo he did and got the oki; which is crazy to me cause Dacidbro Bang is so good. Either way, that's a sick combo. But I can't confirm if it's the one he did.
-
I'm just putting this here in case I forget but St1ckbug's fight with Dacidbro in Final Round XV RTE Day 1, What are the combos he does? I feel like he could have beat him had he nailed his combo enders. If I remember I'll post them myself, but yeah, just in case I forget, Others should know of what that guy can do with Relius. Also, the mods are so good to us. Thank you for the critique thread.

The j.B, j.A version works but it's tough. Hakumen's gotta be flying under the radar. Combo does 3229DMG. I'd just do the combo you posted since it's a easier, but that's just me.

Was just wondering if there have been any JP tournys with dominating Relius players? I haven't heard of or seen any but that doesn't mean it's not there eh.

Is there a Relius picture like this? Original color scheme preferably.

Another situation I'm sorta confused about is when I know someone is going to run up and do something stupid. At the time I have Ignis out and want to Led Ley, 6D their attack, but ignis gets hit, and then I get counter hit out of Led Ley. A solution I found is to do Led Ley, 2D. But is that too risky? Should I avoid doing this all together? -

Thanks for the info, STenSatsu Another question i have is when should Relius RC? Are there any high damage combos that only use 50 meter for the RC? What are the practical uses of Using a RC? -

What should I do if they happen to hit Ignis and she's not out? When I play other relius players I know for a fact their either gonna 5D or 214A after either 5B, 2B, 5C, or 3C it's the most common way of getting her out mid block string. Being against mirror matches I play Hakumen will Enma relius out of that all day, just gotta mash it out. Yeah you can punish that by doing 5B, 6C or something, which will cause a frame trap and fatal counter. but what do you do about something like Inferno Divider? Not to make it character specific or anything, just using enma as an example of an attack that can be punished and Inferno Divider as an example of an invincible attack that will beat a frame trap. What can you do? God that match was epic. So I guess I've been doing the right thing trying to end my combos in j.214B. So once you get the spacing down, what do you do about zoning? If you're stuck full screen and keep getting pushed back or your opponent is running, Can you send Ignis over there and safely attack them before you get hit and whatever you were trying doesn't happen? Question basically being, how do you go from full screen to the 5B danger range if you're constantly having stuff thrown at you? -

lol was gonna type something talking about how awful Relius's AA attacks are but 4D overjoyed. However, in my experience 2C usually gets counter hit or comes out when they're on the ground already. I'm gonna try and use 4D much more. Other than that I still have trouble getting in. The only time I feel safe going in is when I know for a god damn fact 2D is going to catch them with both hits. Block or not. Anyone have any tricks they wanna share? Should I try and maintain a half screen distance? How would I do that? Next part of this post is about keeping an offensive pressure. My bnb is 5b, 6D, 66, 6B, 6C, 214A, 66, 6B, j.B, j., j.B, j.236C, j.214B [3213DMG/+30Meter/~40%Ignis] Combo can be started different ways but this is usually what I do every time. after the j.214B Relius is left with some breathing room so I try my best to keep my opponent there but it's pretty much a guessing game for me. Dashing up a little and when I'm able using 6D, 66, 5B and going into a block string seems to work if they neutral teched. But I don't know what to do if they foward teched or backward teched. Backward teching is pretty much the way to go in that situation and I can't figure how to keep them locked down. If they foward tech I feel like they're gonna DP and I just don't know what to do. I guess I could Led Ley but that just seems WAY too obvious and the opponent could easily bait it. Am I wrong to aim for combos ending in j.214B? -
GOD YES, THANK YOU

So how should I deal with air born characters? Should I just avoid them all together? I know I can win with 2C but that attack is so slow, I usually just get counter hit. Also, if the attack whiffs at all, you're a sitting duck. And when advancing, should I jump when I feel like they're gonna stay on the ground? How do you deal with this? -
I have problems with any combo involving j.B, j.A, 2C that part is really hard to get to connect and I just don't know where to compensate in the combo to make it work. like, Renka, Kishuu, 66, 2C, j.B, j.2A, AD, j.B, j.A, 2C and so on. That part is really hard for me.
