  1. Hmm, I think what's confusing about that is how we're talking about positioning in frames while it's a spatial thing rather than a time one. Would perhaps describing it as momentum rather than positioning be more accurate? Like, momentum hiccups a bit during that time, this is what it feels like sometimes. Though I think I understand what you mean. Both parties unfreeze but the place where the foe gets frozen at incurs extra delays for them due to untechable knockdown functioning as it does. Maybe testing that while having a graviton pulling you away or something would work. Honestly it would make the most sense that both parties get frozen to me, though I'm not sure if it's the case.
  2. I think it's like 120ish but yeah...the other one is 180something lol.
  3. FRKZ used to do this too. It would allow Bang to move 1-2 frames before the screen and foe un-froze but ever since it became OD it's not like that any more (now it still is in recovery after the screen unfreezes but you're invincible during that period) I wonder if Tsubaki's mugen still does this since it's the one somewhat-usable install that survived ODfication. What he's talking about sounds more positioning-based though, it's not like you unfreeze before them, I think both parties unfreze simultaneously. Some DDs just don't have post-flash startup like Tager's 720 but a lot of others do and ODs have recovery too. Anyways, I think this boils down to OD canceling and install supers allowing for certain very specific things to link in such a way that wouldn't be possible normally by extending the untech time of certain moves.
  4. Yeah that's just there cause it's easy and ensures even Elphelt will be high enough to be hit by air driver. It's not something I actually recommend anyone does. Just learn to hitconfirm the first thing.
  5. 6P>cS>5H>6H>JK>JS>JS>j6H>J214S>J236H is the ideal thing but sometimes due to height issues you won't be able to hit it as well. If you want something super duper easy to do that works on most chars you can just 6P>JSJPJS>JS>JP>JS>J236H.
  6. I'm not saying ps4 Xrd doesn't look (and mainly sound) better. I'm saying it's not significant enough for it to actually matter when you're in the process of actually playing the game. You barely even notice the backgrounds unless you stop to look at them once in a while which you can do on your computer too and while they indeed are dynamically lit, the actual char models are not and they're the focal point of the beauty of the game and what you spend most of the time looking at. I guess different strokes for different folks but to me having your enjoyment of a game be diminished because you noticed jaggies or because you just "know" you're playing a slightly (emphasis on slightly) worse version is ridiculous. Maybe I play too many old games in this day and age so I'm still used to games looking like they did 10 years ago in a way that makes them not stand out in a negative way or something, I dunno.
  7. Xrd isn't really inferior either as the differences aren't noticeable in the heat of the fight and you have to jump through hoops to play the game online if you're on the ps4. Oh and it's more expensive to actually buy the game and you have to pay for ps+ to fight people online on ps4. Honestly it's not worth getting. Get disgaea 5 and bloodborne for your ps4. Ports of ps3 games aren't better enough on ps4 to become worth getting when you also have a ps3. Hell I was in a tourney for Xrd last weekend and we had MKX running on ps4 side by side with Xrd on ps3 and Xrd blew it out of the water in looks despite being on ps3 lol. In this gen graphics have hit the plateau really hard. This isn't the jump from ps1 to ps2 any more.
  8. Short starter = short starter. If you have a C nail starter just go right into 6C>iadjC>j236C>5D astral. As for air to air, no, the jD will put them too low to the ground so that when the 5D hits there won't be enough time for you to astral since they'd land earlier than they do off of a 5D that hits like I specify above. For that to work you'll need to be not all the way in the corner (but not too far out of the corner either) thus it's too iffy. You could just not jD and do the j236C right after the jC, though, or, you could do jA>jC>iad>jC>j236C>5D>astral if you had the specific perfect height when you landed that jA.
  9. 6P is jump cancellable on block and on hit now. On that last combo you actually have enough time to 236[h] too, but it can be tight and maybe char-specific.
  10. Any word on if we should or shouldn't update our systems to 1.1 for this?
  11. 6H is also jump cancellable on block. I like it in blockstrings with 3K to close in the distance. Also 6H yrc grab is good too.
  12. I wonder what they'll do for the tourney with Xrd since the patch is coming out either tonight or tomorrow. Oh and if I go I'll have my extend with me so there's definitely gonna be BB there. You always can bring your own setup and just sit and have casuals with people and do no tourneys. I figure if I come that we can do that before and after the Xrd tourney too. The place will be open for all day and just one xrd tourney doesn't take that long.
  13. Throw recovery nerf is good. ODRaid is neutral since most chars tend to still prefer bursting. Only a handful of chars really benefit from it enough to risk using it. The top tier is not as dominant and a lot (a LOT) of prior bad chars have become much better now. Now for me personally, Bang has started getting rewards proportional to the work he puts in and he has actual practical combos into his astral now, so I couldn't be happier. The two S tiers are one good and one bad MU, so overall it's about even. The more interesting thing is that half of the A tiers are just as scary as the S tier bad MU now, which is a good thing. It shows this to be a very refined game.
  14. That was I think just an early loctest thing. I remember reading the same too but come release time and it's still 6432146B like in 1.1.
  15. Short starter into astral is a thing, I repeat, short starter into astral is a thing. 2/5A>5B>2B>6C>IADJC>J236C>5D>astral works
  16. You can do this off of crouched too, you just do 2A>2B after the 623B, then 5D into astral in the same fashion. Bang be astraly now.
  17. Yooo, I grew up watching Getta Robo, this fits perfectly lol. And yeah this is the classic one, from like 67 or 64 or something (though Kageyama is the singer here of course). I was thinking if I ever made one, it'd be with either this one or Hearts from Shin Getta Robo since the protag from that one inspired Bang's look, well, now I know which one I have to do. :D
  18. Dan used to be char-based, now it's just one thing no matter who you use so you may use a sub but have the dan you had with your main.
  19. Ok, I tested everyone, interesting findings. Noel can throw cancel jA jB and jC. Rachel Lambda and Nu can only throw cancel jA and jB Everyone else can only throw cancel jA. I wonder what went into making it like this lol
  20. Hazama seems to have it. More testing needed I guess. I think now only jAs are cancellable into grab. Maybe to maintain tick grabs.
  21. So, a pretty big system change which nobody mentioned. You can't cancel air normals into grabs any more. Not even command grabs. Need to jump cancel for those netplay grabs now I guess lol.
  22. adding to this: 2D no longer jump cancellable on block 2B much faster (can combo off of 2A and 5A on standing) jC>jD combos, even off of a short starter 623C does 2.3k, better proration after rc, you get oki off of it since it's sped up web nail angle changed and it is much faster umbrella travels faster and recovers faster For the corner poison combo now you do 2B>5D>jC>j22A>J2C etc, not 2B>5B>etc.
  23. Basically, if you were already doing the input perfectly, you wouldn't notice an issue, while if you were actually making use of the buffer's last few frames, you would.
  24. I don't think the colors changed much beyond there being new dengeki/famitsu ones.
  25. So are all the system voices still dlc or just the new system voices? I asked last page but it wasn't answered lol.
