  3. I was thinking of updating that gimmick video I made way back in September being that our character has evolved much since then. However, instead of making one based around gimmicks, I would want to do a video that just showcases what our character can do as a whole. In a sense, taking the entire tips & tricks thread, and making a video out of it, along with some stuff that isn't in there. Don't know when I'd even start this since I'm lazy as all hell, but I'm interested.

  7. Just some things that I noticed, but you're pretty solid overall: Vs. Yukiko - I don't think you punish her Persona enough. It seems like you're only challenging her throwing projectiles, and when Yukiko throws out like 5D/3D/whatever, it looks like you're hesitant to press a button. I like 5B for this MU instead of 2B, since if Yukiko throws fans after her persona attack, 5B will usually eat them + punish the persona. It has a larger horizontal hitbox too, so the persona being too far away is never a problem. Jump cancel-able too, so you can always hit the persona and chicken block. @7:15 - Minor thing, but you could've just done 5B > 5C > etc and it would've killed him. I'm assuming you dropped the combo because of nerves or something, but I like guaranteed damage that's easy over a more optimal combo that's more difficult if the easier combo will win the game. Vs. Yu - Not much to say about this MU. I think you should cover yourself in the air more. For example, when you threw out j.D, you got punished with run-up 2B. I would suggest double jump away or j.236D (this can be punished or start up, too). Mind charge > roll seems kinda silly to me, btw. @16:40 - Dunno why you did that. @17:43 - Should have just done j.B > j.236D [2] > 5A. I don't think j.C > 2A combos in the corner since you're not IADing, but I could be wrong. @20:54 - Tournament nerves are so bad, lol. Vs. Teddie - Watch out for EX Teddievision. Best to play it safe when Teddie has meter and not throw out anything that can be beat. Generally speaking, you seem afraid of Teddie, or LK. You DP more in this set than in any of the others (which you never really used DP to begin with). A lot of Teddie's buttons are good, and you just gotta respect 'em. @15:54 - You had meter to OMC and keep yourself safe. Overall, you're pretty solid. Just a small note; I think that you should either 5B/5A after garu, or practice garu loops on more difficult characters.

  9. Honestly, this isn't the first time I'm hearing this, and I always find it weird. When I have asked a bit about how I play against how others play, it was sometimes considered to be a gray area. Part of me wants to believe that us Liz players being so diverse differs from having different fundamentals or something (I know, this sounds kinda silly) or because Liz is just that diverse in and of herself. While a tool may have a defined use, you can use said tool in many differing ways.

  11. I wouldn't mind if there was a Spanish theme, or more characters named in Spanish honestly. No siendo un hablante nativo de Espanol, tan no se comprendo como se siente (nunca he tenido una problema con engrish). I probably butchered Spanish entirely typing that, but oh well, lol. This is how we learn new languages I guess.
  12. So air grab is covering 2B then, huh? Is it possible to go for 2B clash OS then (against characters like Yu/Mitsuru)? This seems more interesting now than ever. You don't have to IB > dash to get out of SB flames afaik. I believe you can dash & evasive action to get out for free.

  14. Active discussion in a Liz thread makes me very happy . Anyway, you make a good point Eshi. I was under the assumption that any character could jump away from D flames though, kinda like how you could jump away from SB flames. The problem with the opponent jumping towards is that they have more control of the situation than you do, at least the way that I'm looking at it. Air grab is easily stuffed, and some characters have options that can subvert 2B. I do agree though that it is better than just ending combos in SB flames, and if they get yellow beated, you can still end the combo in 2AB > 2D for some extra poison damage.
  15. 2D isn't ass. The damage it does can be kind of useful if you get it guaranteed (ie using it in combos), since it'll still be doing 1,200 regardless if the opponent is in awakening or not. I would agree that due to their situational nature, Mamuudon & Mahamon are horrid. I don't think I've ever found a use for Mamuudon. Agree with your second point as well. If most of her game wasn't gimmicks, she would be infinitely better. However, she can still be fearsome when she's capitalizing on mistakes that the opponent makes. Like Eshi said, Liz can get retardedly good damage off of anything, so when you punish someone for them hitting Thanatos for example, you can easily do like 5K and steal the momentum of the match.
  16. I think that 214B > 214D oki isn't very good. It's really easy to get out of since if your opponent is fast enough, they can just shake out, and jump away. Even if the person isn't really fast on the shake, you'll just get a yellow beat ender. Low prorate 2C > 214D oki is better since you're getting hard knockdown before the 214D, and the opponent isn't just going to jump away. 214D oki has been really popular in high level JPN play with players like Okusan.

Shout outs to Bace for actually coming, shout outs to TGS for bringing a MBAACC setup (which Jimmy used to body all of us), and shout outs to Der for coming all the way from Canada. GGs everybody. To the one guy who quit mid-match against me, maybe we could grind out a few games if you want if you're on XBL. Let me know.
