I know makoto is not the best but saying she is that bad feels like Dora is just trolling Goro and everyone who plays her. Especially when you factor in OD, orb Oki, our new mid screen combo, and the fact that a lot of the cast can't jump cancel anymore but we can still mix it up with astral vision. Hell, the full potential of our OD has not even really been tested much. -

Maybe there will be a balance update for the PS3 release since it is coming out so late. Atleast I hope that's the case because some of the cast are stupid broken atm... Just watching that Goro vs hakumen and seeing hakumen's OD damage made me feel like I was watching a MVC3 match. -

Guess they realized the match up between her and characters like lambda was getting beyond dumb, so they boosted that and 214b seems like it could own the stupid sword spam she does. -

Her mid screen is nice but I think they raped her corner damage. I think the average is about 3k even on a strong starter now and with OD about 5.5k -

True. I do love that it makes people actually have to respect D spamming or get bodied. But I wish her damage was higher for the work she has to do or at least fix her parry or dp. -

I would also like to know where her OD ranks. I know it's really good but not Wtf tier like hakumen. My hope is it's enough to justify only playing her and not picking up Litchi too. Lol -

If you're looking for flashy/stylish game play check out Litchi. That woman is all over the place with those staff combos. Lol But on a more serious note, I think Makoto is stylish in her own way and it really shows with her 214 mind games. Hell I'm just glad she has a legit mix up and solid damage even without the corner. we even have orb oki and I know a lot of characters would kill for the ability to do what we can with it. -

For neutral Shooting Star to punish people that like to mash and Cosmic Ray for reset/long distance ground approach. Everything StarGazer said is correct too and I'm sure you already know as a Makoto main that she has to really play by the "shit is situational" mentality. On another note Shooting Star without the need to 214A is beastly. -

At the moment she seems like a decent mid tier but I could be wrong because her new side switch and pressure tools. Plus her OD has a lot of potential to leave a lot of people very salty once she turns it on. Also, I have to get in on that Alexandrite remix love. You can tell they really put some effort into making something that's shockingly better then the original. -

I think StarGazer has the right idea with how combos work now. Plus we have seen in some of her combo videos that she can still pump out decent numbers. It's just that people don't really know her BnBs yet and they are kind of going off of old extend routs. Also, it might just be me but it looks like adding a crush trigger really increases the overall damage of a combo by a decent amount. I know I have seen it with Makoto and Litchi a few times but don't take this as 100% fact. -

No idea why people are saying she is braindead considering her range is garbage vs. just about the entire cast and a good footsie game is a must. I think she has always been kind of popular but her lack of damage and just ok utility did not make a very strong character. I vote we just enjoy that they finally gave us what seems like a good version of Makoto's CS gameplay (OD mode) and EX gameplay. -

I remember him trying to do that when Extend first came out too, so I bet he will be back. Plus with her type of "I'm in your shit game play" and the way Goro plays I can't see him really liking anyone else as much. -

I'm still in shock about that 2D lvl2 and her OD potential seems big. I don't want to get too hype this early but she is looking strong again guys. -
Looks like 214 acb launches a lot higher now and no meter air throwing goods will be nice. lets hope the big changes are mostly in her frame data since she was hit really hard in that area in extend. Also is 6b faster or is it just the game playing faster now?
