[CS1] Jin Gameplay Discussion v2 (No bitching edition)
ryokoalways replied to Wolf Pup TK's topic in Archive
Couple of things here. Hakumen has 2 forms of yukikaze, a regular, and a faster version. The faster version doesn't just come out faster, it also has faster initial frames, ie less stop frames. For example, you can hit Bang out of daifuka with regular yukikaze even if it's immediately after activation. However, if it's a super yukikaze, the faster initial frames allow Bang to invulnerable his way through it. Likewise for Ragna's DP (btw, meaty dp? wtf?), if it's indeed a meaty, then it's probably a super yukikaze, and likewise the above could have happened. That said, it should also be taken into consideration that Jin's version of Yukikaze, regardless of variation, may just have less active frames. I'm basing this on animation alone so it's not accurate. Just keep this in mind. -
I disagree. hype is not needed to generate people. A good fighting game will draw people. Unfortunately, even CS still feels like a work in progress. And I don't believe a large community is needed to be good. The GG community was small but we still managed to pull ourselves to top level because we knew what we had to do to be good. And don't try to compare SF4 to BB. I don't play SF4 at all but I recognize that as far as fighting game goes, it's far superior, and all the best fighters do flock to SF4. Never let favoritism cloud that fact.

Sorry, I still fail to see the point in your rant. Why is no hype a bad thing?

Right, and none of you play at a level where winning matters. Beating scrubs don't mean shit. Not to mention winning only matters during tournaments when bragging rights is on the line when money is involved Those are the only 3 cases, and it's not even all three for everyone. I personally couldn't care less if I lose bragging rights matches as long I win all the ones where money is involved, tournament included. Focus on getting better, and winning will come as a result.

What do you want to see exactly? Considering the lack of change in hakumen's playstyle, all that matter is match-up information, and that's something that takes longer to develop. People are not going to post if they have nothing informative to add. At least I hope not.

I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. Final Part 5 Final Part 6 Edit to previous post as well for clarification.
-
What's the damage return from all green? and is there variance on regular and counter hit?
-
Final 3 Edit: Final 1 and 2 are semis. And I was wrong, this is the 3rd place match. Final 4 Edit: Because I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about.

So what normal would you end with to go into daisharin? I'm guessing it's 6CC (as staff is coming back to you?), knockdown into daisharin? It doesn't seem possible to link if the hits are 25+ or so.

I think it's better to just hold onto meter and/or do reset super since the match-up is tager (ie stationary target)? For more general cases, the only super that seems probable with high hits seems to be all green, which has fairly low min dmg I believe. If it's for the kill I'm sure they'd go for it if they can, but generally I don't think holding onto meter hurts litchi's game. Edit: I think I saw the combo you are talking about. I don't think it's possible to stick do a super and have it connect at any point in the end.
-
Situationally dependent. There doesn't seem to be a point in doing super lockdown unless your target is in the corner (even then there is still a dependency on combo starter, which may or may not allow the litchi player to have staff at the correct location/on her). Litchi can do good things with RC too so the player usually are selective in when they blow their meter. Regular staff projectile is also a good movement limitation tool so Litchi never really has to completely forfeit control. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Zakiyama spars against kaqn, so Zakiyama knows the match-up against Ragna. The match was kind of funny because Zakiyama started out fairly cautious (the correct way to play), until he realized Naru was just mashing shit out after he blocked 2 strings, and then proceeded to reversal everything after IB (the wrong way to play, but in this case Naru was asking for it). Tager is Akigetsu I believe. I don't know dora's name in romanji.
-
Naru's problem was that he was mashing out automatic block strings, which is asking to get reversaled. I think he just doesn't know how to play that match-up correctly yet.

Dropping combos is expected because you have to learn new ones, but there were way too many hotarus.

I wouldn't say nothing new at all. Kishuu for free against chain (any of them) is going to be useful. I didn't know about that because I thought chain had a pretty big hitbox at the tip.

From observation, I believe C act pulsr is -4 on regular block. Tager players say B buster is free on IB, so for Hakumen, 2B, 3C, and renka are all legit punishes.
