  4. More about player skill. Leo's CM Warc Linne and Senaru/Kaze tsukai's Akatsuki have a really really high winrate. Both are the only characters of the cast with double jump btw. Akatsuki, like sf characters, have different version of standing normals when close and from neutral jump....once he is in he have a big advantage agains the other chars. While nerfed from blitzkampf, his ligh tatsu continue to be very fast, the whiff is a strong throw setup. He and sion are the only 2 of the game with airthrow, that can't be teched. So he's strong from close, but he can engage in projectyle wars quite confortably too with his 236 and j.236. To complete things, his dp uses the 22 motion, what is quite faster and more reliable if the opponent crossed in the air. His bigger problem is to rush down from the ground, as he uses step style dash. But from close, this works to his advantage (like nanaya/tohno dash). Linne is probably the most mobile character of the cast. Her jump have very little startup (and she is one of the 2 of the cast with double jump). Her dash is one of the fastest in the game, and she can cancel her projectyle into dash, and the dash into roll (what gives her a bunch of real crossup/fakecrossup setups).

But everyone can use "veil off" activation as a revesal or "guard thrust" to get out of a bad situation. The cost and proprieties of those are different from melty blood "heat" activation" and "bunkers"...so it would be good to search a little about them.

  10. They have different animations, with different speed, reach, angle and proprieties. It's a char specific thing, so there's probably exceptions...but generaly the air assault have a more "straight" trajectory (instead of a arc) and goes further. Like C nanaya airdash compared to F nanaya, or C shiki airdash compared to H shiki. Edit: there's what TaigaStyle just said for air assault. The advantage of the ground assault is making every air normal a overhead, even the one's that normally aren't (like yuzuhira j.a) I remeber seeing Merkava and Hyde using the extra range of air assault close to the ground to extend combos.
  11. this macro was used alot in melty to acess iad (8>6+a+b), as you can't use 9>6 to get it there. I wonder how much it helps in unib...as it's already 8>6+d anyway...
  12. dude, he was just reading what is in the go1/SAT tier list. It really placed shana, kirino and yukihime above kirito. He probably mistaked asuna as above kirito while they actually are placed in almost the same height. But asuna is muuuch more in the right side. While much lower than the rest, taiga is the right side (different from shizuo). And then, the total of characters of the game is 10 as it is now (as the update with blackbullet bro and the chick of strike the blood isn't out yet). He's really as 4th/5th position in the tier, in a game with 10 characters.

  19. 1 it's not like crossup is the only way to break the defenses. -with assault, every air normal becomes a overhead (even the one's that normally aren't). So literally every character can go for high/low variation. -normal throw in unib is so fast (in terms of activation time and window to tech) as mb. Like in older SF games, you can't tech throw while in crouching (except if you are locked in blockstun). They can even be used when the opponent is locked in blockstun (but then, the window to tech is bigger). There is a visible weakeness in throws compared to mb...in mb, if the regular throw is teched early, how much the opponent is pushed alway is changed slightly, and the player that attempet to throw is at a slight disadvantage. In unib, even if the throw is teched late this situation always happens. But still, this is a way to break the opponent defenses. -instead of breaking the opponent defenses, it's always possible to incite them to press buttons with baits for 2a mash/reversals/veil off activations/shield/alpha counter/etc. The freedom in the chain system of melty make it easy to create blockstring with staggers, and unib chains system have even more freedom. This is....you can chain attacks in any order, and even acess 2 times the same normal with the autocombo. Chain shift can play a big role in it too...Senaru's akatsuki was using his divepunch (unsafe in whiff if done close) and waited...if the opponent pressed anything, he goes to chain shift>arc drive. 2 mb do have a crossup protection system too. It taked years for people to understand it properly, and by the end of the day crossups still exist when traps are setted up and then detoned. I have doubts about how in-deep the crossup protection there is compreended, while not having 93 (31x3) characters should make it easier to test than MB.
  20. keep in mind the game is japan only, arcade only for now. Almost everybody here have never played and is just saying based on the book/videos they saw. I would go with what Hecatom said, specially because there's new characters comming.

The problem of melty lies with typemoon, as always asw is the publisher of it in japan, just this. Bloodrayne beeing published by asw didn't imply in it beeing published here by aksys. Even when they are the main developers in persona fg, atlus have done the job of localization, no?
