Do you guys mind if I list the buffs I notice from Score Attack Characters as I slowly grind through them? Okay? Okay. For the most part, improved health is a given. When Naoto is going down in 5-6 combos, that part barely needs to be addressed. Two other buffs most or all of them get is extra frame goodies or extra cancels (I'm pretty sure Naoto can't normally do 236236A and 236236B without hitting the ground in between, but she can here), as well as most/all of them have Hazama-levels of obnoxious meter gain. Notably, Chie. Yosuke: Permanent Sukukaja (though his AI will sometimes randomly waste 50 SP to activate it .-.), infinite Moonsaults. Naoto: Better meter gain, All her specials take Fate Counters (example: Double Fangs takes one Counter per hit). So far, one of two AIs who actually attempts to IK. Yukiko: Permanent Fire Boost 8, Fire Break, fan normals throw all 3 angled versions. Maragidyne x2 = 8k, 10-11k if she does Agidyne D afterwards. Teddie: Circus Bear activates 3 times, 6000+ damage per hit. Kanji: 5D tracks on the first hit? Ground grabs do 6k, air grab does slightly more? The other AI to try to IK. Chie: Permanent level 3 Charge, Hazama-scale meter gain, God Hand does 9k, Meteor damage buffed, I believe they launch off-screen on hit? Mitsuru: All moves Freeze + Charm on hit, Myriad Arrows 7-8k, Mabufudyne 8-9k. Akihiko: Permanent Thunder Fists, Permanent 3 Cyclone, Maziodyne hits 60+ times, 6-7k. Aigis: Permanent Orgia mode, 999 bullets. Yu: ToV Overlimit; can cancel anything into anything. Swift Strike > Raging Lion A > DP > Raging Lion (A? B?) > jc jBB > Zio, or 236A > 236B > 236AB, or my favorite 'lose to this', 214A > 214B > 214AB > Swift Strike D > Cross Slash. That's as far as I've gotten. More to follow, when I eventually get to the end. 3 to go.

All of them, iirc. There are 3 or 4 Navis only unlocked by beating Score Attack with different characters.

Doesn't really change what I said, though. Besides, now isn't the time to start getting all semantical on FG terms, is it? I mean, what's so 'fuzzy' about a Fuzzy guard? 'Dusts', 'Dead Angles', 'Roman Cancels', what the hell are those? You could just as easily point out that several of the 'reversals' aren't really 'reversing' momentum, they're 'reestablishing neutral', but 'RN's don't have the same ring to them. I've heard people use the term 'DP' for them because it's a recognizable term, and they all are ultimately used the same way a Shoryuken would be. Hey, I didn't coin the term. .-. I assume you mean 'punish an auto-combo'? Most of the auto-combos are pretty unsafe if you block them, and there are obvious holes in most of them. Yosuke's, for example, is unsafe on the third hit, and you can roll the 236 kunais and get a free Fatal if they just mash the whole thing.

So, Aigis players. I'm curious. What exactly happened here? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ucFdJSyvZw&feature=relmfu#t=4m49s It looked like Aigis grabbed, then Athena hit mid-grab animation, allowing Labrys to Burst, then the grab explosive went off anyway?

Quick status update: Went to several places on Friday, and in summarization... The motorcycle is in relatively good shape, considering what it went through. Snapped handlebars, torn fairing, and the license plate is presumably in the other guy's grill, but that's probably less than $3000 of damages, so I'm not sure what to do. Going to wait for the insurance to make me a deal before I decide on anything. Police are unhelpful, but I'm not remotely surprised. The officer on my case went on vacation on Thursday and didn't bother filling out a report. Going to assume that's a dead-end until proven otherwise. My motor insurance covers exactly this situation (hit & run), so if nothing else, my medical expenses should be covered. Blue book value on the bike lists it at ~1800, so let's see what happens. Everything's healing pretty nicely, though I assume my knee will take at least a month to heal. Going to scar, too, but I shouldn't be permanently limping or anything. Lots of bandaging and inconvenience, still. I'm grinding it out in P4U, and by the end of the month I'll hopefully have a solid team for KoF. Look out for me before the year is through, all.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale
OutlawVinegar replied to Hecatom's topic in Misc Fighter Central
First off, thanks for (re?)posting the videos. I like how the commentaries during these videos manage to tell you nothing that you couldn't glean from maybe 45 seconds of game footage. Or, you know, just not being functionally retarded. "Kratos's melee moves have good, extending range, so... we think he'd be classified as a mid-range character." "So, everyone in the game has a double-jump, but Kratos also can use the Wings of Icarus after double-jumping. That means he actually has a triple jump." "Radec's grenades can be delayed to explode, so we're expecting players will use that feature." "Parappa's screen-clearing super will never kill more players than there are on screen. You'll never get more than 3 kills at once using it." Meanwhile, watching Fat Princess mirrors told me how her Supers work, gave an idea of her 'normals', and a grasp of what kind of playstyle she's supposed to adopt. All without some bozo providing borderline-patronizing commentary/information. -
[P4A] Naoto Shirogane - Gameplay Discussion "Ace Detective"
OutlawVinegar replied to ludwig van's topic in Archives
It's positioning-based. Just go into training mode and have the dummy use it on you a few times: you'll figure out where to stand very quickly. Question is, how long is the startup invul? If it lasts long enough, it could theoretically work as a time-out stall at the last minute... -
Thanks guys. Sorry, an announcement like that is kind of a hype-killer, so I wasn't sure if I should even bring it up at first. Besides the obvious inconvenience of being without a ride (AGAIN), I'm not going to let some inconsiderate stranger ruin all my plans if I can help it. Still going to pick up P4U and KoFXIII this week, still going to start practicing for future casuals, and I'm still going to look into buying a new bike or getting my current one repaired. Very basic rundown; 1:30 AM, right lane puttering along (I was getting tired so I wanted to take it slow and safe, hah :D), and I didn't see the guy/girl/whomever. I had just enough time to see that there were headlights way too close behind me and then the bike lurched. I lowsided the bike, slid alongside it for ~~~ feet on my butt (ruined my pants, ate through my boxers, completely untouched my skin ), then tucked and rolled off the breakdown lane into the ditch. I got up as soon as I stopped rolling and started walking, assuming that the person stopped up ahead, but instead they were some good samaritans that wanted to make sure I was alive. Some other people came up to report they (hopefully) got the license plate # (), then the rest was typical accident song-and-dance. Called a friend for a ride, called my mother, got just about forcibly taken off the road + to the local hospital, refused treatment so I could go to the hospital closest to home, did that, and got back a few hours ago. For those of you worried, I'm okay for the most part. Seriously. For a high-speed collision like that, I got off really easy; no broken bones, just a bruised shoulder, road rash on my arm and leg, and a gouge in my knee you could slip a dime into, + some asphalt/gravel or something maybe 1/2 an inch in. Oh, and of course my bike is probably scrap, but I won't know until I can get up to the Tow place later. I have my riding gear to thank for keeping most of my skin on my body, never going to ride without a jacket and tough pants in the future, that's for certain. I don't want to derail an otherwise positive thread further, so I'm going to act as normal. I'm pissed that the guy inconvenienced me, but mainly I'm just really mad that he didn't stop. What if he'd killed me? Even now, how does he know that he didn't? How could someone live their life not ever knowing for sure if they just ended a stranger's life through their own negligence? It's pretty baffling. Ah, okay, it was 'Merc'ed. It was bugging me the last couple of hours, couldn't remember.

So, 10:41 in the morning, and I've literally just gotten in the door and on my computer. Shoutouts to Cheese for hosting. You've got a really nice place! Sorry if I was a pain in the ass at times. Shoutouts to Furok for giving me some long-needed bodying (what was the new term?) in AH3. Shoutouts to everyone for day negative-three-casual-tournies in Persona Arena, including our ghetto Nesica Card setup. Especially Zoob and LPT for getting especially hype. Shoutouts to Crown for being a good sport while I bitched about his not-day-negative-three competent play. And, now, unfortunately, some 'alternative' Shoutouts. Shoutouts to that asshole who ran me and my bike over on Rt. 24S, rear-ending me at 100+ MPH while I rode in the rightmost lane at 65 MPH at 1:30 this morning, totalling my bike, wrecking my gear, and putting me in the hospital for the past 7 hours. Oh, and also for doing a hit and run, not even seeing if I lived or died. I hope the police find you, so you can reimburse me on all the trouble you've just caused. Shoutouts to Zeus, the helmet manufacturers, for making a helmet that very much saved me from any head injuries whatsoever. Shoutouts to Joe Rocket, the jacket manufacturer, for having a Polyester + Plastic armor that kept me from excrutiating pain when I rolled into the breakdown lane. Shoutouts to my former Karate teacher for teaching me how to fall and roll, which quite possibly saved my life (though not my pants or boxers) when I tumbled onto the asphalt at 50+. I owe you my life. ...Might be a while before I can make to casuals. Again. FLM

That makes sense. Thanks for that!

Two questions, one purely out of curiousity, the other to save some grief: Elizabeth's R-Action inflicts various status effects, depending on her 'current SP'. Does it depend on her SP at the moment she initiates the R-Action, or does it depend on her SP as soon as the opponent is thrown away? Since she's constantly gaining SP, that description feels a little vague. In other words, if she started her R-Action at, say, 46 SP, she'd have 50+ by the time the animation finishes. Which status would she inflict? Charm, or Poison? The other question has to do with Naoto's Instant Kill. From what I remember people discussing a few months back, during the first few weeks people were getting blown up left and right by the crosshairs, but then people figured the move out and so no one ever uses it anymore. What were people doing to avoid it, so I can be prepared when someone inevitably tries it on me?
