It's probably just a complete coincidence, but I just noticed that Rebellion II and Thin Red Line II begin with almost the exact same sound. I can't see any reason why, so I'm just treating it as coincidence, but that's...odd.

Arcana Heart 3 New Thread: Gameplay, Netplay, Etc.
Agni replied to furix's topic in Misc Fighter Central
The fuck...seriously? No wonder some characters looked really low-res compared to others. -
Oh my god, Amane is so fabulous it's hilarious.
-
Given that ASW is a Japanese company, that's really surprising...but the 360 uses an architecture much more closely related to those of arcade boards (whereas the PS3 is doing it's own thing and therefore is hell to program for), so...maybe that's why? Hope they fix it soon.

This game looks...like something. Like ass. I'm still not sure if this is a joke or not.

Hopeless Masquerade - New Official Touhou Fighter!
Agni replied to YoYoCheese's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Eiki's a type of religious being, so that was why I mentioned her. Really, most characters in this game aren't really affliated with religion...the roster for this game could end up quite interesting. -
Hopeless Masquerade - New Official Touhou Fighter!
Agni replied to YoYoCheese's topic in Misc Fighter Central
It's an official Touhou game, we WILL get a new character, I guarantee it. I think Fairy Wars is the only one that didn't get a new char. I think Tenshi has a good chance to come back, given how she's from heaven. Maybe Eiki too? -
That is anime as hell, and I love it. I wonder when we'll get some info on gameplay. And, I wanna see what kind of credentials the devs have.

This game works with pads? I tried plugging up my 360 pad for shits and giggles and couldn't get it work.
-
That's not what I said. Tripping is random. You cannot prepare for it. It merely strikes randomly and for no reason at all. That's anathema to an FG, especially a competitive one. Burst on the other hand, is limited and triggered by the player. Using it's a an actual tactic. Anyway, DI is Directional Input, it's when you use the control stick to move yourself in midair after getting hit.
-
Have you ever seen competitive Melee? That shit is positively insane.
-
The ability to alter items drops is important even if you're not a tourney-player. I always turned off healing items and when I did play Brawl I'd turn off the smash balls (they break the flow of a match too much, since as soon as one appears everyone focuses on getting it), for instance.

Having wavedashing specific to certain characters would be odd. Really, if they could just not have slower characters be so difficult to use properly that'd be fine. It's not about the jumping. Go to Melee and hit someone when they're at a high %, and go do the same in Brawl. In Melee they fly VERY fast and fall quickly, while in Brawl they lazily fly and then slow down a ton, enough to where DI can get you back to the stage easily unless you're at like 250% or something. This slows down the whole game because people live longer and they don't have be as careful--in Melee, you were FUCKED if someone got a good smash attack on you at anything higher than like 120%. It doesn't matter WHY tripping was put in: it's completely stupid due to being utterly random and completely unavoidable. You could do nothing to prevent tripping. You don't pull shit like that, you do what every other fucking fighting game dev does and BALANCE YOUR GODDAMN GAMEPLAY. It was put in because Sakurai hates competitive gaming. And he still does. Which is why I have extremely low hopes for this next one.

All I'll say is that Port Town Aero Dive is the best stage. This is undisputable fact, and any counterarguments will be righteously ignored.
-
But Brawl did suck compared to Melee. It was slower, floatier, had tripping, no wavedashing, fuck, no advanced techniques at all. It looked good, had some cool stages, and had an amazing OST, but that can't pardon bad gameplay.
-
In before the "SMASH ISNT A FIGHTAN GAME" and "DUMB CASUAL SHIT" people. As long as it doesn't suck like Brawl did.
-
Hearing Nanako or Aigis when listening to Bullet would be...a unique experience. Obviously Strassman would do a different voice but you can't change basic traits of your voice no matter how big your range is.

Could that guy summarizing the arcade stories be arsed to use some fucking periods? My jesus.

Okay. At this point, I'm invested in this story to see what crazy bullshit Mori can come up with next. But this is... Wow, I'm so used to BB's story being a clusterfuck that I don't even care. It's lile reading a shounen manga that's, in all honesty, plotted ridiculously, but it's So Bad It's AMAZING. (but really, BB's plot is basically what would happen if you let an immensely puerile 15-year-old anime fanboy suffering from extreme Chūnnibyō write a story)
-
Ragna got a sex change? Damn, and we thought Mori was insane enough. (I kid, I kid)

90% of ANYTHING in a given sector of stuff is shit, this ain't new, looks up Sturgeon's Law. There's still enough good games coming out anyway, even with all the shit.
-
>Old people bitching about new shit Every. Fucking. Time. Every goddamn time something new comes out people pine for the "good old days". I'm starting to get tired of it.
-
This is anime we're talking about, characters looking the same is the least of your problems.
-
From what I've heard, Tsubaki isn't the only child of the Yayoi clan, she is merely the first one to survive without crippling defects.
-
Oh god no. Keep that dumbass ecchi manga out of my precious Blazblue canon.
