  1. Holy fuck. Japanese arcades are ridiculous.
  2. I'm not a GG player, but I've noticed that one of the things its players seem to love about it is how damn varied everything is. It seems that there's very few "universal" things in GG. I personally agree with you that having different wakeup timing is...going a little too far, but on the other hand, that kind of complexity seems to be what GG's players love about the series.
  3. For whatever reason, the funniest part of this to me is the idea of Daisuke pouring a bowl of Froot Loops. I might want to sig this by the way
  4. So I might as well ask what Force Breaks are/were (since some people are lamenting their supposed loss)? I checked the Wiki and I don't see them in any of the system explanation pages. Never mind they appear to be EX Special Moves. Seems kind of odd to take them out. Also, my perusing of the wiki has shown me that GG has a fucking shitload of mechanics. This shit is like the Iracing of FGs.
  5. But...the people who buy BB are not the types to buy the kinds of big blockbusters you're talking about. BB isn't even competing with them because they're aimed at two completely different demographics.
  6. Let's just be glad this is the first loketest. Stuff can still change. We'll have to see how the new system works before we go all theoryfighter on it.
  7. >Everyone freaks out when the game is announced that FRCs might be gone and turn GG into a crappy game >They're confirmed not to be in (at least for now) >(nearly) Everyone either supports it or is indifferent to it Make your minds up people.
  8. I'd rather have some kind of Anime fighter maker mashup, like...Arc vs. Examu vs. Melty Bread or some shit like that.
  9. Given that FGs use completely canned animations down to the neutral poses, they could simply pre-calculate cloth and hair calculations for each animation on a more powerful computer, and then use the animation data there. Since the characters will never make a movement outside of the pre-defined animations, there's no need for real-time processing of such things. Would help keep the framerate high too.
  10. Because they're too long for Versus and everyone skips them anyway when playing seriously. There was an annoying as FUCK one in Carl's CS story mode where you fight Noel with half health, fuck that fight so hard. SO HARD.
  11. I said don't look at me like that >_> I'm hype for Xrd and maybe I'll pick up AC+R to get used to the system...my friend wants to play it at least. So anyway, watched some of that. They're pretty badass, something like that in BB would be pretty cool. I noticed that many of them inflicted damage on characters despite only being intros--you still have to fight a character with reduced health like that? Damn.
  12. What exactly are you talking about? Never played GG (don't look at me like that).
  13. I just think it looks jarring...I prefer the camera to stay at one angle for a 2D FG. Guess we'll have to see it in action. 5 bucks only Sol and Ky are playable at the loketest.
  14. I'm iffy on the dynamic camera angles during matches...they make things seem SLOWER, usually, even though they're intended to spice up the action. Cf. Marvel; the super-poses just are jarring as hell compared to good ol' superflash.
  15. Oh god that anatomy is terrible.
  16. I hope we see footage soon. Seriously. I wanna see how this game actually looks in action.
  17. What...? The stereotype, however unfair, came from GG being...well, anime. Just look at, say, Bridget or May, hell half the cast wouldn't look out of place in a Seinen or Shounen manga. GG's anime as fuck, just not Chuunibyou like BB is. And if someone is gonna not play a game because they think it's too "anime", then fuck 'em. No point in preaching to someone that closed-minded.
  18. That is...not what I was talking about at all, but ok...?
  19. Weird, Forza 4 always worked well for me. But this is off-topic so let's stop here. I guess I should start playing wired in preparation for CP but I don't feel like routing 30 feet of cable through my parents' house just so I can play animu fighting games
  20. Not really, it depends on the genre--racing games work fine under wireless for instance. Obviously it's...bad for fighting games but that was a broad statement. I've never really had problems with BB's netcode but my connection is mostly decent I guess. That and I never played online much plus I'm too unskilled to notice the difference unless it's REALLY bad.
  21. DiMaggio as Azrael would be hilarious. But then I wouldn't be unable to hear Madworld's Kreese and Adventure Time's Jake...not sure if that's a good thing or not.
  22. Every single one of those besides the Vampire is dumb as hell. The vampire is kinda cool but she's a little too stripper-ish.
  23. Oh shit I played this game like fuck when I was a kid, maybe I'll get it.
  24. Okay, THAT is a dumb reason. But for some people, it's more "it's embarassing to get bodied". And it is. Especially in an FG where one person just kicked your ass and you're like "wow, he just rolled over me so good, I look like a complete jackass". Shit, when my friend kill me in casuals I can barely look them in the face
  25. Yeah, uh, speaking as a guy who has had this mentality for a long time...it can be REALLY hard to break this train of thought. It may seem really bizarre when you're actually good at a game but when you're not, it can be hard as fuck to deal. You go into a game knowing that you will get beaten 100+ times before you get one step towards getting better and for a long time you feel like you're not getting better at all. FGs require a serious commitment to get enjoyment out of them. Before that...they aren't fun. Getting people to put that commitment forward is already hard as shit for games like SF or MvC, something niche like GG is gonna be even harder.
