[CPEX] Celica A. Mercury Gameplay Discussion Thread
dualseeker replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Celica A. Mercury
Thanks for posting this. This solidifies the fact that Celica can't do anything good until she gets 50 meter. No but seriously, thank you. I'll keep this in mind. -
[CPEX] Noel Vermillion Combo Thread. (Updated May 3rd 2015)
dualseeker replied to LunaKage's topic in Archive
It's probably BB's combo timer telling you "This combo needs to end" as soon as the first 22B hits. I'll test this out myself later today, though. -
0 bars being OK, but 3 bars being laggy as hell. WHAT DO I TRUST?
-
No problem, man. Always happy to help.

What makes a character good? CPE discussion and help needed
dualseeker replied to liquidrain's topic in Beginner Mode
Title of this thread is "What makes a character good?" Tong's post literally just went into a pretty nice explanation on why characters can be good and why they can be bad. -
22B oki is basically just ending your combo with a few 22B shots, and then being ready to meaty them when they wake up, or just 2B or 2C them and combo them if they refuse to wake up. It's Noel's version of having oki pressure. You end combos with 22B because you're able to act before your opponent wakes up, which gives you the opportunity to tech chase them and pressure them on their wake up.

[CP2.0] Celica A. Mercury Combo Thread
dualseeker replied to CrownEmpress's topic in Celica A. Mercury
I don't know how active this combo thread is, but I'd just like to offer two anti-air combos to try and help out. If anyone knows of better ones, or knows how to make these better, please let me know. Anti-Air 6B > 5C(4) > 6D~2D~(delay)2D > 662A > 5C(1) > 3C > 5D~6D~6D. (2.6k) 6B > jc> j.B> j.C(1) > j.214A> RC > 6C > 214[C] > 5C(4) > 214C > 6B > (5C(1) > 3C) > 5D~6D~6D. (3.1k) Really like this character, but I feel sorry for her the more I lab with her, lol. Poor girl doesn't have many good ways to go into 214[C] without spending meter . EDIT: Also, I tried adding 632146C to the end of each of these, but I couldn't get it to connect. Although I'm not sure if I was just late on timing or not. -

My problem is actually the 6C after 214[C], lol. I just cannot get it to come out in time. -

Challenge 19. Has anyone done it. -
I think it's because if you use an A move anywhere in the 2C>j.[C] route, it'll drop later on. I'm not entirely sure though. But you are right that it's not a hassle to use that route on Linne, Hyde, or Hilda.

BlazBlue Calamity Trigger - How has it aged?
dualseeker replied to SkagMaster's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
There's still perfectly good reasons for still playing CT. It's to do things like this, and this, and this, and laugh until you can't breathe anymore. Because CT was broken as hell and that's what made it hilarious. EDIT: AND ALSO to hear the Calamity Trigger announcer. The best announcer in the whole series. -
GGs to everyone I played today! Special GGs to TD! I'm glad I could finally face your Rachel, man! You're amazingly good on her, it's nice to see a good Rachel after so long! Anyways, hope we can play some more in the future, TD!

I like to get up to people's faces. Noel's rush down is what made me pick her up in the first place <3.
-
Definitely! I'll be waiting for sure!

You have like, 5 viable options for ending your drive pressure. One, you can use Bloom Trigger to end it, and it's probably one of the most safest options you can use. Like you said, if they instant block both hits, they can most likely punish you for it, but unless you rapid the move, there's not much you can do about it. A tip for making the Bloom Trigger at the end safer though is to try to push your opponent as far back as possible while you're using drive (d.5B>d.5C multiple times), and then using Bloom Trigger. That way your opponent should be far enough that they can't punish you. Your second option is to use, like you said, Chamber Shot, but I rarely use this; Bloom Trigger gives you more knock back on block and has a higher chance of letting you get out of drive safely. Use Chamber Shot only if you know your opponent isn't really looking to punish you after your drive string. Your third option is Assault Through. This is useful if you know you're opponent isn't really expecting to switch sides while blocking. While it's not completely safe on block, I think it's one of your more safer options; it's easier to reset your pressure from Assault Through if your opponent isn't doing a good job blocking. Just be careful, though, because if it gets instant blocked, you're likely going to get punished. Your fourth option, while a bit risky, is Muzzle Flitter (214A). While it's really risky, since if you whiff it your opponent can have a free punish on you if they react correctly, it can net you some really big damage with how it does 1.5k unscaled every time. Try using it if you know your opponent is expecting you to use an overhead. Your 5th option is to literally just stop your Drive without using a drive ender or special move. Sometimes, the best thing to do when your opponent is blocking your drive is to just stop it all together without really doing anything. You can just let Noel reload and do something else; get some space between you and your opponent, or keep going with regular pressure. All of these options are pretty good to keep in your head when your opponent is blocking. As a rule though, it's usually always safest to end with either Bloom Trigger or Assault Through. They both give pretty good blockstun to the opponent and they usually are not punished. Just remember to use your head and adapt to your situation accordingly.

GGs to everyone I played today! Special GGs to Demonwindbomb! I'm glad I could finally face your Noel! Thanks so much for playing with me, and sorry for that bit of a lag spike at the last match; I don't know what happened. Anyways, GGs! Let's play again sometime, OK ^__^?

GGs to everyone I played today! Special GGs to DawnHikarii! I've never had so much fun playing a Noel Mirror in my entire life xD! We definitely should play again!

I didn't know other people got kicked because they were using characters like Platinum, or have gotten hate mail for using Tsubaki or Makoto (seriously, WTF). I thought that stuff was reserved specifically for Noel, lol. But yeah, a big pet peeve of mine is when people refuse to play you because you play X character . Back in CSII and Extend - and even a bit in CP as well - people have refused to play me, or have gotten extremely angry with me because I use Noel. I've gotten used to it though, I've learned that pretty much almost everyone hates Noel in one way or another.

GGs to everyone I played today! Special GGs to Delta. Thank you so much for playing with me, man <3. It was nice to finally play with someone else from the Noel boards!
-
GGs to everyone I played today! GGs to TD as well! I wanted to keep playing with you, but looks like the guy snatched your spot ^^;. Hope we can play again sometime! I'd really like to see your famous Rachel in action!
-
No I wait for my opponent too. I just whack them once or twice if we're even on health and then back off so what you mentioned doesn't happen.

GGs to everyone I played today! I had a lot of fun!

Kokonoe banned from Rebel Up tournament series
dualseeker replied to TAI-X's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
It's not like this ban is everywhere; we'll have to wait to see how other tournament organizers handle this. I don't think it's taking it too far; there are definite grounds FOR her being banned. Only thing I'll say is that this may be a bit too soon to do. I'd like to have more tournaments happen before we decide whether or not to ban her. As far as I know, there hasn't been any tournament results that indicate her heavily influencing the bracket. -
Yo, my squirrel-y friend! Let's play some matches sometime ^__^! I'd love to get some sets in with your awesome Makoto again!

GGs to everyone in Brett's tournament! And special GGs to Nemesis and Badlime! I'm really glad we got to play before I got eliminated from the tournament, Nemesis. I always wanted to face your Mu! Your Mu is so amazing, I hope we can play again sometime in the future ^^;. And GGs to Badlime! I'm pretty sure it was you who I faced in that Arcade Lobby. If not, my bad ^^;. It was nice to play you again since EX died out! I hope we can have more matches in the future!
