  3. Tell me about it, some days I only get to do mirror matches. You can try to bait Growler with orbs. You can use it as oki, if he absorbs it you can go for 6A or drive mixup 5DB etc. Orbs in neutral are bad, unless you can time your 2DC/6DC just right that his Growler invincibility wears off and he hasn't absorbed the orb yet.
  4. Just to throw my own opinion into the mix, as much as I like GG and it's characters, the story isn't really good. It's not relevant, playing through story modes in GG never feels rewarding and after watching Xrd's arcade intro + couple of characters' arcade playthroughs I think they (Ishiwatari mainly but whoever is writing the story) acknowledged this too and tried to take the game series' plot to a new direction. Yes, Overture happened but in a straight comparison BB's story just feels so much better with the "relevancy" issues and other things. Chronophantasma in 2.5D? Hell no. Fuck no. If you're going to do BB in 2.5D make a new game. To me ideally after Xrd the next game they'd make would GG vs. BB (in 2.5D) and after that, if Mori will continue the series, a new BB in 2.5D. GG vs. BB, would it work? If they'd implement a some sort of Dust mechanic to BB and made a setting to turn BB-style OTG-game on/off, it'd be alright. Or just forget the Dust and give everyone a 3HS sweep.

  7. Has there been any hints from JP players who have played the patched version if Azrael's character-spesific combo pathways have been fixed? Like does airborne TC > Valiant work on Litchi & co. in the patch or airborne TCL > IAD j.A on characters other than the ones listed in the combo thread? Kinkuli-chan?

  9. Nah, even if it was with its' current startup frames people would just start grasshopping when they'd see it coming. Plus if it was a regular command grab people could break it if you'd try to end a combo with it.
  10. Azrael player here, I rarely get fight Kaguras online but yesterday I got to play 5+ matches against him. I noticed that they could combo alright with stances and orbs and DPs but their MU info just wasn't there yet and I was able to beat most of the matches straight. 6DC in neutral: keep this to minimum, it's extremely easy for Az to just do Valiant/Hornet to GP the attack and get a weakpoint (no CH though). I was able to do a ~4.7k combo with 50% heat in 2 separate matches when they abused this, so yeah.

  12. I had this idea while looking at the list of players in the 1st page. Since we have some characters represented more than others, would it be any good idea if: for example: Kagura vs. Hazama FT10 with 2 Kagura and 2 Hazama players, players taking turns switching every 2 matches (HZ1 vs. KG1 > HZ1 vs. KG2 > HZ2 vs. KG2 > HZ2 vs. KG1 > loop) or after losing/winning. This way the spectators could inspect any specific traits any player has and suggest tips on how to improve their game, thus the participants could learn how to play that MU better.

  16. It's a big deal because it is so inconsistent due to the game's coding to prefer quarter-circle motions over DPs. As TheArm05 said Dash > TK Dump becomes "usable" after the patch.

  18. Yes, on normal hit. He didn't say anything about CHs. At one point I wanted to compile a list of all the characters that could punish Growler even on hit, at least Tao and Ragna, but because of the patch I assume it is/will be irrelevant Edit: I remember someone wondering if Terumi could punish Growler with Renshouga. As I've written in that MU thread, it's not fast enough.
  19. ^I agree with Spectre there, because one reason for Dogura being the best Azrael is that he can play the character in such a versatile way. Folks here and there can share tips and teach you how to TK Gustafs but how you will actually benefit from that information is up to you. A vital part of BB and why it's such a great FG is that you can play all of the characters in the cast in different ways. Others have more tools to zone for example but how you use those tools is again up to you only. It really comes down to the question about how well-rounded you are with your main, how well you understand your own and your opponent's playstyle and in which ways can you fool your opponent to gain advantage (=mindgames).
  20. Do your research before commenting. The game is barely 5 years and 4 months old if you take to the account the date the game was released in arcades. On consoles it was released in the Summer of '09, with the exception of the European version which came a year later. Is it a surprise why we haven't seen Arc's games on Steam until now because of the fucking disaster that is CT Windows Live version? Even if you play the game on 360 now the only ones you can battle online are lvl 60 pirates.
  21. Not really, for example Rath in his combo video does TCL > Phalanx > 22C and it's legit.
  22. Can someone clarify which moves exactly can you follow-up with 22C? I see people jumping across the screen after Phalanxes but when I try it I never get it to work.
  23. Nobody can turtle Carl for free, if that's the case the Carl player needs more practice. Only someone who has IB reflexes in his/her blood can deal with his pressure/UB setups.
