  1. cool, then im honored he would want to team with me, though I honestly have no idea when the next time i could make it to kansai, ill have to look into it and email him and if hes serious about it maybe ill make another trip down there. also... I updated the pictures section with a few photos from this past weekend
  2. take em yourself, i promised nothing
  3. blog updated. it took a bit long to type up and I was sorta busy the last couple days. its a bit long but enjoy... http://elvenshadowmike.blogspot.com/
  4. new blog update today (yes, slayer is retarded broken) EDIT: pictures section updated with some pics from Sano
  5. new blog update up (sorry its a bit long) http://elvenshadowmike.blogspot.com/ I also uploaded all the pictures ive taken since after my kansai trip
  6. The Kanagawa tournament starts at 2, and it only takes 30 minutes to get there from Shinjuku. I dont think it should be a problem honestly. It will probably be over by 5
  7. koroshi, ive been to the COCO curry place too. They have one in Numata which is the city next to my town. Its good curry for sure. Matt, for the tournament in Gunma on Saturday heres a recommended course to get there 13:15 IKEBUKURO JR Tohoku Line 14:16 OYAMA(TOCHIGI) 14:22 OYAMA(TOCHIGI) JR Ryomo Line 15:30 IWAJUKU it will take a little over 2 hours for you to get there. However, since the trains run far apart at Oyama in Tochigi, I suggest you stick to this exact schedule or you may find yourself waiting up to 45 mins at the station between trains. You can use hyperdia to find a different route but this one should work fine. I think you have to walk a bit of a ways from the station too to get to the arcade, maybe a 15 min walk. Welcome to the Inaka. I should get there a bit earlier so I can help you find the place. The tournament starts at 18:00 but its nice to have some practice time and maybe we can even find a 3rd teammate! just post here or mail my phone to confirm what you are gonna do. For Sunday theres a Tochigi tournament but its too far I think and the trains dont run as late so I dont even know if Id be able to stay till the end of the tournament since i dont even know what time it starts and will end. Instead we can go to the Kanagawa tournament which is much closer to where you live anyway. We can talk more about the Sunday tournament on Saturday. Even if we happen to win the Gunma one, it wouldnt hurt to play in the Kanagawa one since its a different series so we would have more chances to qualify in the actual finals For the Tuesday one... well sucks for me... hopefully someone there will team up with me. Im gonna bring my girlfriend with so in the worst case I sign up with her as my team mate and she just gets on the cab and mashes some buttons if I lose.
  8. yea KZO looks pretty solid but I dont think hes from the Kanto area, most likely a Kansai player so I dont know if I have played him or not.
  9. well if hes from kansai like Kyle said chances are I havnt really played him. Zero often uses that color but I cant think of any other HOS players that I often play that are anywhere near his level that use that color
  10. posted another small blog update today
  11. KZO? i dont know, maybe ive played him but didnt know it, I dont know what he looks like
  12. blog updated today http://elvenshadowmike.blogspot.com/ Matt, read the blog and find out :P Reaver, I dont know, maybe they play at arcades that dont record often. Theres probly no Ogawa HOS vids since he never enters tournaments with HOS. He just often plays HOS and Potemkin from time to time in casuals at Akihabara when hes not playing Eddie
  13. I just uploaded the rest of the photos I took in Kansai from my cellphone as well as some other older ones that were sitting on my phone for a while, enjoy
  14. if you go to www.tougeki.com and click on the schedule link under guilty gear it shows every tournament. For the ones that have already ended it shows the results. The blue ones are the prelims and the red ones are the finals. The tournaments are organized in groups by Letter-number like A-1 or B-2. You must win a prelim to play in the final and the winner gets the spot. There are 26 spots total. The other 6 are for foreigners and last chance. for those of you who cant read japanese, type the URL into a google search and there should be a link to view the site translated into broken english. its enough to navigate the site as far as changing team mates... I dont know if its a different situation for me or not since if I was to play alone and qualify I never designated team mates, but in the case with Ruu, he probably played at some point so subbing him out would obviously not be legal. Honestly though I have no idea and realisticly if I am going to qualify I will need a team
  15. it depends on the arcade, some seem to let you and others dont. then at the same time theres some tournaments that have a limit on the number of teams that they allow to enter. last sunday it was capped at 24 teams. i did some further investigation into the SBO website and realized they finally updated all the qualifier info for each event. it seems some arcades dont have a limit on the number that can enter. I also found out that for each date listed as the finals for a series of quals, theres one more prelim before the finals, so theres actually 2 tournaments I can enter this weekend I dont think theres a limit on either one as far as I can tell so if they let me enter by myself and I cant find anyone else I will I wonder though... if you win a tournament by yourself will they allow you to choose anyone you want later since technically had they been on the team and just didnt get a chance to play it would be the same... hmm... chances of me OCVing an entire SBO qual are pretty slim anyway lol
  16. wow so it seems I made a mistake all along there is no qualifier in Niigata this weekend, the Niigata one isnt until June lol! also... for Tokyo theres only the finals left on Saturday so it seems I will ACTUALLY be going to Chiba because there is one more prelim on saturday and then the quals on sunday if for whatever reason I actually win this I will have to face FAB/OsakaB/Nakamura but thats just getting ahead of myself... first I need a team hah...
  17. hmm ok so then whats the last spot?
  18. well theres the US spot, and I know that hong kong or china get a spot right? and then theres 2 last chances I think right? so I dunno what the other 2 are for, but arcadia only has 26 spots listed for qualifying through regular tournaments in Japan. perhaps there are spots that are given away to people who won last year or something sorta like how DF2 allowed all 3 of the players on last years winning SBO team to have a team of their own for free
  19. there are lots of quals left, they only started 2 weeks ago. see the way it works is, theres only 26 spots for the Japanese, the rest are for foreigners and last chance quals the day of the SBO finals. For each spot there are like 3 or 4 preliminary quals, and from what I understand, if you win one of those you are seeded to be in the semi finals or some sorta round robin type thing for the finals for that spot. so next weekend theres one more regular prelim for both the niigata and tokyo ones which are seperate sections and then the respective finals spot for each one will be on sunday of next weekend. im almost certain that most of these people have somewhere online that they often post up this sorta stuff for finding teams or most of them probably have eachothers emails. since I dont know where they do this and since my kanji reading skills are shit I really cant take advantage of such a resource, so my only option is asking around in person or asking the few people that I actually have teamed up with before in the past. other than that all I can do is show up and team with the other leftovers and hope theres still room left in the tourny
  20. blog updated again today http://elvenshadowmike.blogspot.com/ went to 2 SBO qual tournaments. Please post feedback
  21. I would love it if we could have a class where I ran an english of the dead tournament but I doubt they would let me and we probably wouldnt have enough DSs
  22. from what I understand they pretty much cremate the bodies and then the bones are placed in a jar along with the remains
  23. pictures are up. at least all of the ones from my camera are up. I still have more that I took with my cellphone that I will try to upload tomorrow. Link is on the blog, enjoy
  24. btw, I just checked a-cho website and the full brackets and results for the tournament I played in are up. Theres no vids from the tournament yet but they will probly be up soon. I have no idea if any of my matches will be online or not. When I played RF I think it was on the cabinet that they werent taping but I dont know, they might have been taping off more than one
  25. Well this weekend theres 2 SBO quals so I dont know if I will really have time, but if they have it at the arcades im at and theres not like a 234334 minute wait to play it ill give it a try. Matt, I will post info for the qualifiers this weekend soon or I will send you an email on your keitai
