Another random point technique: you can't jump out of Barrier Guard, so we now have an empty/grounded clap in CS in the form of 4[AB], 7]D[, 4]AB[.
-
No. I've tried repeatedly. Also, dash Allegretto is not an air attack -- it can be blocked low. EDIT: more warning: nominal wavedash is 66 214C 66 214C etc., but a late-C wavedashing gets you 66(3)214C (land) 6{auto-fire C}6 -> Laetabilis Cantata. Wavedashing Carl is more finicky than I expected.

Oh, sweet idea. I only used the dash Allegretto (let's come up with a name!) in N-C-O, but yeah, the air-launching is still there to abuse in C-O-N (or N-C-O-wall). But it's more away than up, so 2D (OTG) shenanigans is more plausible (think "defensive burst trajectory" here). I don't know if dash Allegretto has air-attribute -- to wit, dunno if Allegretto (block high) + 3D (block low) does what I think it could. In hindsight, Allegretto at the end of a low/late j.C would also cause instant land recovery, which may the basis of a lot of otherwise impossible jump-in combos. And it would still work in CT (e.g. late j.C, 214C (land-cancel), 2B, etc.). The other consequent is that you can Allegretto straight out of a very low air throw for instant land recovery, although that doesn't seem all that useful in neither CT nor CS -- maybe useful in low air throw reject? Also, another caution about the wavedash: if you hit C far too late (final 4 frames of dash), due to the game's 5-frame "auto-fire" feature, you can end up doing the wavedash straight into a 4C. Avoid or abuse (e.g. bait a counterhit) at your discretion. Other abuses for the 5-frame-auto-fire feature include wavedash into throw (214 C~B); wavedash into Option-Select Guard (214 C~AB); wavedash into gold Break Burst (c'mon... y'see where this headed...); etc. The auto-fire may make the alternate form of the pure wavedash easier for some: 66, [C]~214 (auto-fire-C does not linger through land recovery). In like fashion, auto-fire can assist dash Allegretto: 66[C]~214 (but nail the 4 before zenith of dash).

Allegretto can be done in the middle of forward dash. Must be done early due to its inherent "drop" (i.e. unleash Allegretto during the rising part of his dash). Great for that last-inch chip damage. Late forward-dash Allegretto causes the zero-frame recovery effect (the Can in Alle-Can). I for one welcome our new wave-dashing overlord.

Volante on hit causes very short stun. Dirty trick = let Volante hit (blocked or not), throw for green '!'. Also, afaict, anti-air Volante hit is untechable until ground, Counter or not. There also seems to be a subtle change to the input for Astral Heat. So far, it feels like it only activates on D positive edge, unlike all the other Nirvana moves. Could someone else verify this?
-
Dunno if this has been mentioned before, but I figured I'd toss it out here: Nirvana's commands are now with respect to actual spatial relations instead of Carl's direction. So, for example, C-O-N airdash right to become O-C-N (j.:f:), once past the opponent, Carl is facing right (i.e. "forward" D). In BBCT, right-D () would be 6D because Carl is facing right; but now in BBCS, now that "true sides" are switched, right-D () in this situation becomes 4D even though Carl is facing right (i.e. "away" D). Carl's own commands are still based on the direction he faces, though. i.e. in the above situation, Allegretto/Alle-can is still down-downleft-left (), CT and CS. In short, the rules for Nirvana commands in crossups is different in BBCS.

Some time ago I started a separate thread in this section ("Site Feedback...") for discussion/coordination relating to work on dustloop.wikia and that thread is gone now. I was wondering if the thread was removed by a mod due to policy/inappropriateness (then I won't restart thread), or if it died at the hands of gremlins (ok to restart thread)?

CA Volante loses to TG Spark Volt Nirvana can still meat-shield it, though. Moral of the match: Volante against charged TG, hold D.

Another acceptable request by hosts is to ask attendees to pitch in a little money (ahead of time or on arrival) if they want to help defray the cost of electricity and whatnot. A donation, or a tip, or a token of appreciation, if you will. Non-mandatory is the key word. From what I've seen up here (NorCal), most people are willing to chip in $1 or $2 to help out, and there's the once-in-a-while baller who slaps down $10 or more . P.S. having a separate container (box, folder, envelope, tupperware....) for this helps, for storing and/or collecting. For example, getting like a shoebox, cutting a slot on top for money, and labeling it something like "$$ Help out on the Power Bill $$ :pikachu:".

IANAL (I Am Not A Lawyer)... my understanding is that if their statements, which you took in good faith, induced you to act in a such a way you otherwise would not have, then some responsibility can be laid on the person making the claims. Think "maliciously leading you on". In my case, I paid $36 and documentable amounts of travel costs (glad I paid with plastic this time) to attend this event where I wasted, at minimum, 3 hours of my time that could have been spent with my parents or sister, each 30-min drive away, had I known this event was a total loss; also I scuttled a trip to LA/FFA the week before (more enjoyable) for this event (misery), so my activities were totally changed around due to what they claimed. "They" could argue that I would've made the trip anyway, but in my still-growing ragepost, I [will probably] expound on how the wasted morning and disorganization dismayed me to the point where I pretty much just threw my matches to get the hell away/out, so everything building up to it (the 1am non-stop direct drive to HAX and the following wait) is tainted. Oh, and let's not forget the extra-hours burden we put on the restaurant after the event, compensated for by a near-unity gratuity rate (Goryus has receipt), heavy costs which would not have incurred had all the winners been [timely] (un)paid. While not a legally-binding document in the colloquial sense ("piece of paper"), the site and posts had the elements of a contract as I understand it (again, IANAL). At the very least, a verbal contract (with all the fun aspects of trying to prove they said so). If there are hints of backpedaling and history revisionism, it's best to start making snapshots/screenshots now, documenting the history of this muck; at very least, the evolution of the aftermath. I already made an archive of the first post the day I (pre-?)registered, and a screenshot of their web page just after I made my payment of $36 for a $30 entry fee. While hardly smoking guns, their mere existence means "they" will have to explain that stuff somehow. FWIW, in civil litigation, the metric is "preponderance of evidence" (whereas "beyond reasonable doubt" is for criminal cases). It's best to consult a professional legal expert on this matter. I relayed relevant info thereof to SpiritJuice, I thought they were going to be passed on to MikeZ. One interesting lawyer suggestion was to utilize mediation, where a legal professional (lawyer) acts as a guide to have both parties meet at a mutually-agreeable compromise. There are other non-court ways of resolving dispute as well (e.g. arbitration); in general, I follow the rule of thumb to reserve the courts as a last resort; courts are overbooked and lawsuits are frickin' expensive. Ultimately, though... consult a lawyer before declaring/initiating any legal action.

First post updated with results of Sept and Oct ranbats. Due to many other things happening in Nov and Dec, we may not have another BB ranbat until Jan. And even then, there's a chance it'll be BBCS, which may call for another points reset.

CA has a statewide BB shindig on the 24th, same time as CO doing sth. Otherwise, I'd have visited again.

May? I play a dolphin, who happens to have attached this bratty little loli that carries around a boat's anchor. What a weird thing to arm a dolphin with.

I already came across the 8wayrun thread about NVGA's SC4(and everything else) tournaments some time ago, while researching NDK. It's a large part of the reason why I went to lengths to pack my own BlazBlue station for NDK -- the VGR rules as posted on NDK's forums were dodgy enough as they were, then compounded by all this bad blood over NVGA/SuperCon. Also, I was going in after being stung by a somewhat-bungled BB tournament, so I was uneasy enough as it were. But, still, I'm confused over the Dramatis Personae: who's who, did what, the stakeholders involved, and the interconnects betwixt them. Most of all, I don't want to be needlessly stepping on toes, so I'm treading lightly here. And what is it with each BB region having its own roosting forum site?

I think I forgot to post a flyer for this one...

Cameraphone. Point at TV. Upload (optionally after transferring to PC). It works, no need to be movie-studio-quality here.
