Now that the dust has more or less settled from the event, shoutouts to brett, dakanya, and norcal for setting up the event and running it smoothly as well. It was fun meeting and playing with players from east coast and canada as well.

Quite an overreaction, SCR was a tournament where there were pad players as well, it ran smoothly because in all honesty it doesn't take that long to set up pad controllers provided there are people that mash out the invites to the ps3 setups. TL;DR pads are probably gonna be allowed even though it's extra work on the TOs. They might have the normal rules of wireless controllers being banned so pauses don't happen; usually in FG tournaments a disruption like that will result in a DQ of the offending party :V
-
There was another incident that happened during the tournament that was quite questionable involving the pads, which was probably what made the TOs consider the pad ban in the first place, I'm not sure on the exact details, I believe brett or dakanya have the full and accurate story. Personally, I have no problems against pad players, JDG-King, Yoyolon, and Lastinnovator and their friends are all very strong pad players, and it's fun to fight against strong players regardless of their control scheme. The Shuffle tourney pad ban was because the tournament was already running late and there was no time switch between control layouts in between matches.

the final cutter combos are for cut resistance, long knockdown, and decent oki positioning. the BR is supposed to hit and down while the final cutter followup is intended to whiff. http://www.twitch.tv/dreamteamstation/c/3971696 You can see an example of what it's supposed to look like at 0:38 seconds in that particular replay

there is no main 4, I think it used to be the zaku summon before they moved it to the 2AB input.

It's just casual meetups for us to get games in, unfortunately it seems that the next time these start up again is in August due to Anime Expo and Evo approaching, as well as the renovation of Super Arcade after Evo. If you're interested in a tourney there is one in this upcoming week on the 28th at Super Arcade, courtesy of Shingin and Mando of from IEBattlegrounds.

Good showing tonight, next one of these is on the 20th. Shoutouts to everyone who came out and played, and shoutouts to dog + red frame team

A bit of tech I found out recently, tank has a technique to cut down the reload time of smokescreen from 18 seconds to 10 seconds. It's performed as follows 1. Pop smoke 2. Wait until smoke runs out 3. Switch Forms. To understand why this works, one has to understand how the cooldown of smokescreen is calculated. After smokescreen runs out, there is 8 seconds of cooldown where it does not reload at all, while the little red ammo bar actually fills up in the last 10 seconds. The 8 seconds of cooldown only applies to the form that you ended smokescreen in, so by switching forms you can potentially reduce the cooldown of smokescreen all the way down to 10 seconds, assuming you don't form change again after. The recommended way to do this is to end smoke in mobile armor mode, and switch immediately to tank, since you spend more time in tank mode anyways. Do note that whenever you switch back to mobile armor mode, the reload stops until 8 seconds have passed in MA mode.

Hi everyone, as the Gundam EXVSFB scene at Super Arcade has been quite active and playing bi-weekly at the Rebel up events, some of us decided that it would be nice to meet up to play weekly instead of bi-weekly. Therefore, these casuals will be held on the off weeks of Rebel up events so we can enjoy our LAN latency Blue bar gundam action. Location Super Arcade 1211 North Grand Avenue Walnut, CA 91789 Time 8pm - 3am Venue Fee $5 for the entire night. Setups+Controllers This is a BYOC event, so just bring your pad/stick and you should be good to go. Usually we have enough people that bring their PS3s, but it's nice to have extra setups ready in case people decide to leave early. (YES PAD PLAYERS ARE WELCOME JUST HEAD ON OVER)

[MB] The Maxi Boost General Discussion Thread
ANhiro replied to Setsuna Yuki's topic in Gundam Extreme Versus
A cost increase can easily make a suit from barely playable to a very strong contender; GP02 is a good example of that. -
some details about the weapons: Main/BR Cancels into itself 3 times, unlike other BRs, this means that you can fire 3 BRs in a row without having to do a zunda cancel. Sub Will fire both grenades unless zunda'd out of, cannot be canceled into from BRs. They do not stop you in place when you fire them, unlike most Bazookas. AC Fires a fast traveling beam that knocks down in one hit, does good damage. 2B Sword toss, stuns on hit.

I can bring an exvs setup

Mu-12 is a trap character with a DP. What's not to love?
-
2C combos might not always give the number stated on the combo list because depending on the position of Asterius, all the hits might not hit.
-
Edited a lot of the normal descriptions so it is no longer a copypaste of Labry's normals.
-
Speaking of that, how are we gonna do combo notations for slab, specifically denoting asterios inputs and actual hits? I guess heres the 5B punisher i've been using against DPs CH 5B AoA (8C) j.A j.214B (8C hits) 214B, does around 3200 dmg

Thoughts It's annoying how any strong combos outside awakening is pretty much always off of a Persona Starter, the plus side it's really easy to get a knockdown to start the Oki game. Also another thought, I think Slab may actually be stronger midscreen than in the corner, due to not being able to crossup at all in the corner. Her blockstrings are relatively short and unsafe, using the bull to attempt to make it safe in the corner id questionable because it recovers too slowly to do another mixup. Persona wise, I really don't think it is as weak as people make it out to be, the armor actually holds up against a lot of attacks. Also, the opponent's trying to break the bull mentality can help you easily score the knockdown to get the oki game started, as you can punish their attempt to break asterios at the cost of 1 persona gauge. Also, her AoA is one of the better ones because of its range, and can be used as a ghetto focus attack at times, such as countering other AoAs, calling out obvious mitsuru drills, etc.
