I'd say they're both unrelated. Choosing stick over pad or vice versa has nothing to do with Amane especially since most of his game is pretty low execution. It's a good question to ask for yourself, but the answer is usually personal preferences and I think Amane or any character choice for that matter shouldn't be part of the equation. If you want more arguments for or against this, the beginner section is appropriate for these questions. There might even be a stickied thread for this subject since it's a common one

Me and Kaeru combine our gas costs and we split that. Room should be separate since we never moved one guy to my room on saturday -

Quick traveling post Trip to Toryuken. Looking at hotel prices. For a 3-day stay, it would round to 105~ if we are 4 in the room. This doesn't factor the near 25$ of gas costs for each individual. I'll wait until thursday to book the room. So far I know Rurouni, Level-5 and Brice would be interested in that plan. Let me know if Prices are A-ok with you. If so, would you be interested in leaving early afternoon instead of around 6? Just wondering. Gas this weekend was 80 US + amount of gas used after the last refill. Would say 90-100 in CAD -

That setup can be escaped by jumping forward or backwards. A big read

Checkout usually happens in between 10-12AM, so there's no reason for us to stay there any longer. All the NY guys should still be sleeping, nothing open. -

Even if 6D is guaranteed anywhere on the screen for 25 meter which I didn't think of initially, Having drill level 3 against someone midscreen doesn't give rewards that are set in stone unlike getting it in the corner. If that character was Tager, Kagura, Hakumen in regards to their movement, it would be a lot more meaningful. Sadly, Valk has good enough of movement and life to sustain what you'll get midscreen against him. If you do get the corner and drill, i'll argue anyday the match turns in favor of Amane as options become limited for the other guy. So, Valk has arguably better neutral and rewards that are reliably better for winning neutral. I don't know from here how it can be argued that it's 5-5. Maybe in 1.1 Btw, I want to know how much is implied in that last statement. Does it suddenly makes the cut in 1.1? Just in this matchup? His biggest buffs I found to be not in the neutral department.

We've already seen footage of bursts being taken by the drill stance. Rest of the invuln is blurry as of now.

Out of curiosity from the WOLFBOYZ that posted. A lot of my local scene players have a very nice way of summing up how to play against Valk that I agree with and would like to see if more valk player than our only one would also agree to this. Something along the lines of "A lot of guessing about having an active hitbox in front of you at the right timing". It's simplistic, but goes along the lines of what you said: "Valk can bait AA". If you commit to the stuff you react, Valk can beat it. Without going in into "If you play smart", Amane has normals with recovery and startup longer than average. He does tend to have more active frames, but I don't think it's enough to make up for it. If you agree to the idea of reacting as risky, than any commitment you do is higher and if you fail, it leaves even more time for Valk to get in. Like Kiba said, if he gets one chance to hit or make Amane block you cannot realistically argue that Amane stands a fair chance. The two things I'll say in favor of the matchup is that Amane's movement can create a lot of stalemate in neutral. It's not enough to reliably overcome Valk's neutral, but it's also enough to prevent being overwhelmed and having to stand your ground. It helps against Valk pinning Amane down, but since he doesn't win neutral from it, it's not really in favor of one over the other though. The other one is what Eshi pointed is that drill setups are more /guaranteed/ against him. You still need a combo leading to corner for it to happen. Maybe if Amane gained more from pressure and knockdowns, it'd be pretty fair overall. I don't think Valk wins neutral free, but I think he's better than Amane in that regards. But even if you hit him, not all knockdowns are meaningful while a lot more of Valk's stuff will be. 1.1 will be interesting in that regards, because knockdowns and Amane's single player game is upped in a few ways

Well, if you're going with me, the current plan is to pick up Air at his workplace since that'll be the only thing holding departure back a bit. -
Match quality for these 2 is average, but it's 1.1 footage nonetheless [1.1][03/04/2014] KOK vs. AMA [1.1][03/04/2014] AMA vs. IZA I love me some Jirou, he does some sick stuff in the game against Valk and Mu-12 [1.1][04/05/2014] Isako (BUL) vs. Jirou (AMA) [1.1][04/05/2014] BUL vs. Jirou (AMA) [1.1][04/05/2014] Jirou (AMA) vs. Keba (MU) [1.1][04/05/2014] VAL vs. Jirou (AMA)

Ok figured what was wrong on my end, you really have to run for a short distance unlike I was doing

Trying to press buttons is a bigger risk on this character when blocking. 2A has a short range, other normals are rather slow in startup/reach. His reversal is really good, but meter. On the defensive, Amane is more easily rewarded from attempting to gtfo than mashing out: - Backdashing. Currently, Amane's backdash is ok and it might be somewhat buffed in the next version - Jumping. With all the air movement options and his floaty high jump, just jumping and using one movement option can force the other player to commit in following you to catch you. Keeping another air option (Fabhop, double jump) can also help you on the way down. If cornered, jump double jump B hop forward at least gets you out of the corner - 6B beats throws from frame 1. It's also invincible to attacks with foot property (usually lows) on frame 5. A big commitment, but good rewards. If the gap is large enough for it to whiff, you pull backwards which helps slightly Nonetheless, he remains weak so instead learn to make good use of game mechanics/rules, they go a long way: - Mixing up the time at which you tech during combos and utilizing rolls. It helps get out of certain setups, it's annoying, it works wonders against many players, it's good when used appropriately. - Barrier/IB. Helps messing up their spacing - Typically, blazblue mixups have a gap before the mixup. This does not apply universally, but there's a lot of escapable situations thanks to this. Enough to upback or do something annoying and work from there. - Counter assaults. Amane has a good one.

I was skeptical about throw setup being guaranteed since no Amane uses it. They did very early on, but stopped. Do you delay the C drill after throw? Been trying to delay to various degrees, and I can manage to get hit by blue beat drill and then roll backward afterwards. I'm skeptical this could just be me mistiming Amane dash and 6D, but hariken vacuums the character away from Amane, letting them use back roll invuln to avoid 6D Am I just wrong here? I want to be

Booked my NY room. Is it just me and Air on saturday after all? Should be Coming for 3 days with Lvl5, Rurouni so far -
A small trip to Nico was in order. Arukemi (Amane) vs. Shuda (Kagura), Fujio (Azrael), Dia (Rachel) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23171859 Didn't watch the whole thing yet, but 3C > Raibu > Hariken charge instead of oki is about 75% of a drill level guaranteed. Drill super is still in range to hit with 6C(1) and 6D if RC'd Also this video is silly impractical, but might as well link it http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23233996 I would guess a fully charged crush trigger is equal to bonus proration.

I know we talked about it, but did anyone actually book the hotel rooms for TSB? -
Some projectiles invincible move cannot go through bursts. Unless I'm wrong on this, we havn't seen footage to prove whether or not he can.

I don't have much exp against her, so don't take what I say for granted. 1. Try to be in her face. If you get her to push herself in a corner or make her block, the options she'll have are more limited. Add to that her limited capacity to escape drill setups and low HP, and a few correct guesses is all you could need. 2. Try to whiff punish her D attacks. If she uses the ground version, hop above it and counter hit her with j.C, if she tries to use the anti-air version, you stay on the ground and whiff punish. That being said, try to stay close to the range of these attacks for it to work.

Not on all aspects. Hitconfirming is so much more freeform than other characters and that can be hard, but he's not really a character that has a high execution requirement overall. I think it's more that you'll learn plenty of stuff, but they won't necessarily accomplish something meaningful in a match. Curious to see what others would say about it too
