Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters
DerQ replied to BladeOfJustice7's topic in International
I'm curious in some areas whether or not you have more to say, because if I take what you say at face value for granted, there's a whole lot that doesn't add up or make abstraction of other things. -214A > j.C > j.236A > j.B is not that hard to AA. The gap isn't too large, but you can just press 6A or input a DP. You just have to know. -3C > 236D~D > 6B is not a situation your opponent should press a button. 236D~D heavily reduces recovery of moves and makes them plus on block and people will catch on to that. Just keep that pressure going instead of going for a call out 6B when you are plus and they shouldn't be mashing a 2A there. -214A > j.2B to return to neutral. Why not use 5D to return to neutral? It's minus 3 on level 1 and accomplishes that nicely. Unless you want to react and do something else??? -3C > 236D~A. There's 25~ frame gap here, they can just press a button. -5B > 6D. It's not a guessing game, the opponent can react to the fabhop. So they won't throw out a reversal if they know they can react. If they do anticipate that moment a lot, you might try that, but you'll never get a counter hit here. -5B > 236D~D/6D (Standard drill blockstring???) What do you mean standard drill blockstring? -3C > 236A > j.B > j.236A. I'm curious how you got that. j.B can't be cancelled into j.236A on block -236D~D shouldn't be made for them to respect 236D~A/B. 236D~A/B is simply an efficient way to stop pressuring the opponent. Here's another one you can add to your blockstrings as well, try to swap 2B with 6A now and then. 2A > 6A is a 1 frame gap that catches jumping out. If blocked, 6A has more blockstun and can be jump cancelled. You can do every chain you'd normal do from 2B, but you can also do rising j.D. The drill remains active until you touch the ground on level 1. It lets you stay in, builds some drill, does some chip damage and is almost airtight. You can check combo thread page 2 for basic to advanced combos, I ought to move it to page 1 which I will do so after a slight cleanup. Quoted directly -Throw wallstick > 5AB > 6A > 623C > 2B > 6A > j.B(3) > j.B(3) > j.236C (Gosei) [DM:4016/HG:17(-25)] -Forward throw > 623C > 2B > 6A > 623C [DM:3381/HG:24] -(level 3 drill basic combo) Forward throw > 623C > 2B > 2D >214A > j.6D > j.236B > j.236C [DM:4000+~]

How do you expect any game company to make profit on gamesharing if you reduce the cost of one copy amongst five individuals. Already paying half the price is good lol. Doesn't add up, the download account can be on 2 consoles max. The game is still binded to that account even if you just play with another one. Which comes back to what Brice is saying. If you game share more than 2 people, only 2 of them will have the full features as the rest cannot go online since the copy is not legit. I mean you can try it all you want, but I'm assuming you won't be able to play online, get DLC. Think about it, if you make a three way game share, you save 20$ so long as you leave your PS3 offline. If you buy from play-asia and gameshare, 60$ is all DLC characters, full game and some color palette unlocks. If you buy the points from someone in japan directly, you can shave that cost down to 50$~ for the game. Don't triple game share, it's just not worth it. -
Little mistake you made, the end is 5B > 6D, not 5D All of these are not tested and more or less taken for granted from tutorial combo videos, match videos and frame data. It's a guideline, but don't take everything under here for 100% granted truth as they were found before we got the game. I asked Kamoihito back then on twitter but havn't tested it myself and took it for granted. This setup beats people who hold the button to tech (Emergency tech), if you delay your tech to get access to a back roll, it should beat it. Nonetheless, if they back roll, you still get to hold 6D for a little while longer before they wakeup and since they're far away, they're not really beating entirely the setup, just taking the lesser of two evils. A must-have drill setup is 236C Wallstick into 6D. Whenever you are not in the corner but in distance for raibu to wallstick, you are also in distance for 6D. The idea here is that wallstick time + ground tech time covers startup for 6D. Since they are cornered, they cannot roll. Some characters can escape it such as Rachel wakeup wind, but that list is still to test. If you are too close for Raibu wallstick into 6D, you can do 5B > 5D(N) > 236D~A after said wallstick. Same idea, 5D will lift the opponent high enough to let them land, then tech and that covers you placing a drill. The tricky part is that you need to place that drill at the sweet spot. This range implies A drill being blocked and to cover rolls and also implies being able to followup into 6D as well. A little tip, it'll be offscreen when you do it. 5D counterhit can combo into Hariken which in turns combos into 6D. 5C counterhit (Second hit) can combo into it 3C counter hit can combo into hariken drill 2C's spin can reset into 6D. There's probably a little more than that and they should be found in the pressure thread. I vaguely posted all the resets or ways you could attempt going into it there under the drill management section.

Gamesharing beyond 2 is kind of a picky subject. Forget DLCs if you do that -

I am leaving atm and will leave the copies at foonzo even after I leave with your name on it. Also, customs was 215$. I charged everyone 5$ extra on the copy in anticipation. This would raise the price to 85~/copy. I'm not gonna go around collecting this one as that'd be a slight waste of effort, but if you want to buy me a beer now and then, it'll cover it :P -

Your copy will be at foonzo today https://twitter.com/MTLDerQ/status/393814959412752384 -
Hmmm then maybe it is just counter hit, the way I would try to hit with it was to get a counter hit on his projectile. I hope I'm wrong because it was just so good against him. If you have to whiff punish with 2C for something stable, then you don't get silly stuff from that 50+ frames stagger
-
I wasn't really trying any of that stuff as we were playing arcade style best of 1 rotations on limited setups and therefore had no time alone in training. I was just trying to get some stability and run with that for now. Some notes -2B is da god to bait reversals. A properly spaced 2B can make stuff like Kagura's reversal whiff entirely. Could get it quite often if I tried to get the right spacing. -Only one command hop per jump. If you want 2, you need to jump by using a command hop. -If people don't know how to deal with the drill game, it's 100% free. Loose 6D resets for free, 5D fully held can build one entire level of drill. People will eventually figure it out, but as of now, it's unbelievably easy. -5C will only hit 1 time on Kagura. When in hitstun, he just low profiles the second hit. That means no fullscreen CH 5C punish on his projectile. -Zettou into j.A seems unlikely. I think I may have accidentally tried to go for it once or twice and dismissed it. Could still a 10-seconds check up in training, but I doubt it leads to anywhere tbh. This character is fo fuuun

@skye worst case scenario i tell you your opinion was wrong and end it at that Playing it at our venue. I cannot do 5C into 6C for shit lol. Raibu leniency wasnt as bad as i thought on my part.

They both want to do a 50$ money match without touching the game. FT5 I believe. No BBCP experience at all. Absolutely jack shit. Also, shwa should bring his setup with the game tonight as well as what's available at foonzo -

The shipping is estimated for tomorrow 5pm. It's a big if, but you might just have your physical copy tomorrow @foonzo. I'll be notified via email when it'll be shipped. https://twitter.com/MTLDerQ/status/393358838088208386 -
To everyone posting and has the game. Add me on skype (g1derq) if you want to join the amane chat. It's only me, hellfire and Kurushii at the current time, but it's a pretty useful resource to discuss some stuff quickly. I probably won't add you right away simply because I'll be at our venue since it has the game and I'm waiting for it to ship to have it at home (fuuuuuuuuuuuuck) Should I make a new gameplay thread? Since we have the game on our hands, the content and discussion will be slightly different. Plus, a 100~ page thread is kind of intimidating. Just trying to gather thoughts on this. If it happens that often, go in training and set up input display to make sure you get 6,2,3. At least that's the only input that's close another move's input

Ok ok ok, that sleepover is just my way of exaggerating Thursday's night anticipation. That being said, if it were to happen, I'm down. That or just somehow being allowed inside of Foonzo's during friday regardless of having service given to us or not. If that were to happen, I wouldn't expect to be able to order food prior to opening hours, I wouldn't expect to get food inside or nothing out of every day meetup. Just access to the consoles outside of opening hours. On another note, pre-orders have not been sent. I totally misread "Item shipping on the 24th or a day earlier" for "you will have the game on the 24th". Sorry for that confusion if you ever took my words for granted. Gore, november 16. Pretty simple, you wanna come, you read and then post in the thread And don't forget NEC planning before it's too late if you wanted to come. -

Brice posts a tier list for girls in some form of entertainment in the Montreal thread. People who never post here butt in and say their words and opinions. It's like it keeps happening! <3 -

btw, I know Bibi wanted to buy a digital copy for foonzo / game share with his ps3. I'll pay (and split if anyone wants to be involved) the costs of a game share digital copy for the two other PS3s at foonzo. How do we make this work out? Buy the points on thursday and take care of it there? -
